So, on a weekend, we decided to take a ride and go check it out. It is an indoor farm stand open year round that carries all kinds of vegetables. They also have baked goods and....chicken pies, among other items. So...we decided to try a Chicken Pie. The price was $ 24.99 although we had to ask as the pies were not individually priced and there was no sign to tell you either. The result is the pie has chunks of dark and light chicken with literally no sauce. It was extremely expensive, and don't get me wrong I don't mind paying when something is really delicious. But this pie was far, far from that. I also thought the vegetables they sell were very expensive as well. Not a place I would return to.

Charming and quaint in spades, it's also the perfect size to take kids with you apple picking. The orchards are a short walk from the main building. The fields themselves are big enough to roam, but not so gigantic you get lost on the way. They also make their own delicious cider, and the pumpkin butter is delicious. I have a friend who swears by the ready-to-bake apple pies.

The kind of place that warms your heart to do business with. 32 rows of apple trees are ripe for picking - including the usual macs, empire, red delicious, macoun, and even honey crisp (when other local orchards were picked over). Their trees were full of all kinds of apples and hardly seemed picked over though it is early October. I found their trees spaced a bit further apart & the rows a bit wider than other orchards I've been to, which would make it easier to keep track of wandering little ones. Also found the amount of wax & chemicals on the apple skin seemed to be minimal - though I didn't ask about their farming processes. The trail to get to the orchard is lovely - a 1/4 mile or so stroll through the woods. They have wagons to tote the little ones or all your apples. And a personal favorite, the handy apple picker tool for picking high was available at the entrance to the apple fields. The farm also has pumpkins and lovely fall foliage all around the farm. The other Yelpers wrote about the delicious cider, which indeed is lovely. They have samples so that you can try it, but trust me, their cider tastes less like sugar & spice and more like apples. Delicious. If you are interested, the barn has a large window where you can observe the cider being made - with an apple press. You can tell their neighbors love the baked goods, as minutes before closing several neighbors darted in to grab a pie or some bread.

The apple crisp, cider donuts, and apple cider are all really good here. The donuts are still warm if you get them on a weekend. The only downside is that you have to wait in a long line to order your donuts and then wait another 30 minutes or so for your donuts to be ready. They sell the apple crisp + cider inside separately, so if your group wants one of each your best bet is to split up and wait separately otherwise you'll be spending a good chunk of your day waiting in lines. Apple picking here is decent, not the greatest, but the trees are labeled properly and the paths are well maintained. I've had no issues filling a bag of healthy apples. There is also a hayride that brings you to and from the apple orchard but I believe you have to pay for it. They have some animals that you can see, a pumpkin patch, and a corn maze. The corn maze is the perfect size IMO. It's not too big where you could be lost for hours, but its challenging enough for 30 minutes or so which is good for kids.

Everything is available when it's produced so there's no guaranty he's going to have what you need on a given day but he grows/sells: Corn Pumpkins Gourds Tomatoes Cherry tomatoes Peppers Cucumbers Honey Eggs Zucchini Squash (all types) Green beans Eggplant Blueberries Flowers HUGE SUNFLOWERS Lettuce I'm sure that's not even everything, but it's the basics. Our bill was brought to us right away and we were helped frequently through lunch. What more can you ask for?! Oh good music, they had that too :)

I've been to many farm stands and this was one of the worst I've ever seen. Normally you can buy a couple peaches and pay by the pound, but not here. The least amount of peaches I could get would've been $8.50. I only wanted to try a few. Overall produce selection was lacking. They didn't seem to have a great selection of fresh baked goods. I did pick up some local spreadable cheese that I like, but it was pricey compared to other places I've purchased in the past (Smith's country cheese is very good if you want to try it out). Lord knows my zucchinis don't even have flowers, so being able to pick up a few locally grown ones is awesome. They just had one counter of veggies around midday, but the barn they are using for a store is gigantic, and there were empty baskets stacked in one area and empty tables in another, so I assume it must fill up. The farm is gorgeous. There are beautiful rectangles of growing stuff everywhere. The people are friendly and they take credit cards, so that's super helpful, since I rarely have cash. I got some nice tomatoes and cucumbers (the latter better than the former, but it is really early and some of those earlier tomatoes are less flavorful, so I'm sure they'll get better), some zucchini and summer squash and green beans. Looking forward to my dinners this week with all those fresh veggies! They also had nice looking peppers (which we don't eat in this house due to a borderline allergy), and some potatoes, as well as some fruits. I was mainly after veggies, though. I understand they had lettuce somewhere, perhaps in the Coca Cola-style fridge I didn't check out, but from what I saw on the website, it was only romaine and iceberg. My favorite lettuce is Black Seeded Simpson, but the other "butter lettuces" in that family are good too. I dislike iceberg and am neutral on romaine. I'll be back! This place is not far and it's also near Shaw Farm, where I like to buy milk, so it makes for a nice trip. Lots of good food to be had!
