I guess there's not much you can do if you end up living in a property being managed by this company, but all I can say is good luck and I don't envy you. The reason is this. Their employee (and likely your first point of call when you need to discuss something), Lorraine.
I've never been unfortunate enough to have to deal with such a miserable, haughty person who hates her life. She is rude, unhelpful, lies to cover up her (plentiful) mistakes, makes you feel like a cretin for requesting things, never completes tasks to conclusion and then blames others when - for example - you're left with no keys into your building after the building locks being changed.. it's like she views her job here as if it's community service for some hideous crime she committed, and so goes out of her way to make every communication with her as joyless and miserable as possible. She's just truly, truly awful. I don't like saying this about other human beings, but honestly, I've never experienced anyone like her in my life.
If Hillcrest were to actually look at how useless she is at her job, how seriously lacking her levels of empathy are, and the trail of negative customer service experiences she leaves behind her, they'd do the right thing and employ someone who was more aligned with good customer service, organisation and honesty. If this were to happen, dealing with them would feel more professional and collaborative - as one should expect from a company paid by tenants and landlords, to do the job they exist for.
Lorraine, I'm sorry you hate everyone and everything, but maybe think about the fact that life itself is indeed a precious and beautiful thing, and as humans we've all only got a few short and insignificant years on planet earth. Life could offer you so much if you're prepared to embrace joy and stop being so angry and bitter all the time. Perhaps you might want to move on from this place you clearly despise, and dealing with people you think are beneath you. Instead, why not seek out a place of work which would bring your life a more positive meaning and encourage you to interact in a less hateful manner with those you encounter every day? And then I might consider giving Hillcrest an extra star or two. read more
