I can not speak to either Mr. Hillman nor Mr. Canning. This review is entirely on Mr. Matthew Lucas. I highly advise and recommend you stay away from this office. Details below... Upon meeting Mr. Lucas and failing to read reviews (I accept full responsibility for that mistake), I was quoted a certain price to form an LLC & an additional price to add properties to the LLC. I was given a combined total. Once I expressed my ignorance and stated what my goals were, Mr. Lucas advised me accordingly. I made sure to leave nothing left to the imagination as I'm dealing with a lawyer. So when it came to the cost for his services, I confirmed and reconfirmed that no other "hidden fees or costs would be associated" with my requests. I was assured that no other costs would be incurred. Months later, after names were spelled wrong on legal binding documents, corrections needing to be made, etc. (all the fault of his office) I was told everything was complete but a balance of $75.00 was owed on each deed. His secretary delivered the news while in his office. I politely stated that there must be a mistake as I've paid all that was owed upfront and was told no other costs or fees would be incurred. The secretary became agitated that I attempted to defend my check book from Mr. Lucas' undeserving paws. She stepped out to speak with him and came back stating the fees are due. I attempted to speak with Mr. Lucas but was denied as I wanted to see him again face to face and ensure this wasn't a mistake. It's not the amount of money that bothered me, it was the principal of the matter. I was lied to and felt manipulated that Mr. Lucas assumed the need to steal money from me though he was already paid handsomely for his services. I paid under duress and from that day forward I was black listed by him and his office. Mr. Lucas did not return a single call, answer an email and made it clear that he did not want my business. Finally after needing him to fix yet another mistake so my CPA could move forward, 11 calls/messages left, 4 unanswered emails, his secretary said that he could no longer service my LLC as he has too many clients. That's code for "get lost" in lawyer language. If you are looking to form an LLC, have rental properties, etc. please use someone other than Mr. Lucas. I'm sure there are cheaper firms but I'm ok with price as long as the agreed upon amount is honored. What I can't and you shouldn't tolerate is dishonesty. This guy is a crook... I'm going to review my paperwork and see if I should make a complaint to the State Bar. I can not imagine I'm the only one... read more

While the lawyer, Mr. Hillman was wonderful to see and spent good amount of time explaining our situation, he did run way over time, even after i alerted him we should stop, he said "no big deal, no extra charge".. that wasnt true. also for estate planning, i was told "no upfront fee", they never said they would charge a ton of money if we chose not to go with them for planning!! i was charged extra and the office assistant takes whatever good this office may have away. Never in my life have i dealt with such a rude assistant. My friend who has also used this law office for many many years is also in disbelief with the current attitude and lack of professionalism from office staff..She needs to go!!! Also, prices are not up front. They will charge you much more than agreed too. read more

Sadly, you have to click at least one star. Want a good liar for hire? These guys are it. They'll feed you what you want to hear, take your money then totally renege on you. They say, if you retain us, we'll waive the initial consultation. They bill you for it later and when you call them on it, they feed you some BS excuse. Oh that's only if... Oh well, that only applies if... No communication. You only hear from them when they want more money from you. Call and leave a message for a return call? Uh, not gonna happen. Leave a message with whoever answers for a return call? You guessed it. Not happening. Oh but the billing rolls on! Email five times asking a small question? Maybe they'll reply back, but an invoice will accompany that reply. This firm cost me a lot of money. read more
