This is ABSOLUTELY the BEST place to see the 4th of July fireworks! So glad I chose it to celebrate America's 250th. We could see multiple fireworks shows right from our window! I loved that there was a restaurant in the lobby and the staff was quite friendly. They actually clean rooms DAILY which is hard to find anymore these days after COVID. Our housekeeper was lovely and even helped us get back in our room one day after leaving our keys inside. The view of the Capitol from our windows was amazing. A real treat! And of course it was walking distance to many things downtown. I knocked off a star because the AC was not working very well. The parking garage was convenient and easy to get in and out of. We enjoyed our stay here very much!

    Disgusting bathroom

This hotel is disgusting. We got two connecting rooms. One of the showers didn't have hot water. The other bathroom the toilet didn't flush. It was dirty. The maid woke us up in the morning even though we had the do not disturb. Really bad choice.

Convenient location and nice lobby area. I think they are undergoing renovations soon to make updates which are needed. One of the outlets in my room was hanging out of the wall, the phone didn't work, restaurant was out of several breakfast items- however Mr Bs coffee in the lobby made me an excellent breakfast sandwich!! The staff is friendly and overall a good stay.

Hotel is located in downtown Albany about 20 minutes from the airport. Clean and giving 3 stars b/c the fifth floor was noisy and it was odd to have grown folks laughing and talking loudly enough to wake me. Otherwise, hotel was good. Restaurant with friendly staff. Shout out to Tiola for having the biggest smile and pleasant attitude. Another shout out to Yolanda at the bar who helped me out with menu items. If you're ever in the area, stop in and let me know your thoughts on it. Update: I changed rooms due to the noise mentioned. I then decide to grab dinner. Sessions Lounge has a tasty salmon and mashed potatoes. Came back to new room, and keycard didn't work. I received a red light. I go back to the desk advised a young lady who said No problem and starts rekeying card. Another older lady with white hair comes over and says, "What color was the light in the door?" I said Red. She says, "Oh because if it was green, you just turn the handle and lift up and the door opens." I looked at her and said, " Really? Well I guess it explains why I'm down here b/c the color was again red. I know how to open a door." She then gets offended and says, "I was only trying to help." Help what? The young lady was "helping" me and don't insult my intelligence. I already said it was RED. SMH. Just shameful. Due to this, I'm giving 2 stars for her very poor customer service. No one was talking to her. So WHY INSERT yourself where there was no problem.

Staff is excellent, amenities top-notch, wonderful service. Love the newly renovated guest rooms. The hotel is beautiful and centrally located. The restaurant and bar serve delicious high-quality meals and drinks. This is home!

See you NEVER Hilton Albany! What a terrible experience. AC doesn't work in many rooms. Our food delivery was taken and staff tried to lie covering it up. Crazy! Dirty run-down hotel.

Fork in the hall day one 3/7/23

I stayed at Hilton Albany for five nights. The room was satisfactory and appeared clean. The hallway outside my room, however, was clearly unsanitary. Coffee cups, utensils, glasses, dishes and general rubbish everywhere. I also noticed a fork in the hall. The fork remained in the hall for the entire five days. Service at the hotel bar and front desk varied from disinterested to hostile. Customer service is not a priority at Albany Hilton.

Not edible. Caesar salad dressing tastes funny and it's drenched.

Listen, I can handle a couple of issues. But, there's too many and I just arrived. I'm worried what additional problems I will have by the time I check out. The food--Caesar salad with add on of Salmon. Salad itself not edible. Salmon has zero flavor. I did eat it because I'm hungry. The clothes iron started leaking brown fluid all over my blouse and the ironing board so I stopped ironing. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I pray that my favorite blouse is not ruined. The remote back won't stay on--that's not a deal breaker. The flickering work station light--this is problematic. I do have some work to do. I have stayed here before. So, I'm not sure why this room sucks. Perhaps the floor I stayed on had newer rooms. The hotel is clearly old. The refrigerator cabinet door will not stay closed and there is no microwave--a bummer as I'm staying for 3 nights. A microwave would have been nice. As I write this I'm waiting for a new iron and ironing board. I'm disappointed to say the least. There are too many things wrong to give more than 1 star. At nearly $300 a night, I expect much better. Especially from a Hilton. There was a nice homeless guy holding the door for hotel guests upon arrival. It was a good thing because there wasn't a luggage car to be found and I had to make a couple trips. And, no, I'm not being facetious. He was very nice.

Ceiling and water damage! Smell of mildew / mold thru out hall and rooms

I've used similar extended stay hotels in the past & always had a good to great experience. Same with the Staybridge. Overall, it was a very good experience. The front desk staff were nice enough, for the most part, up until our last eve & check out morning, did we encounter a new front desk gal who was extremely upbeat & helpful. We asked for a picture together as the waitress at the Ruths' Chris steakhouse pretty much gave us the brush off when we asked if she could snap a photo before we left. The gal gladly obliged & seemed excited to learn that we were newly discovered siblings who found each other a few years ago & this was our first time away together to do some bonding... Here's the rundown of some of my thumbs up/thumbs down/meh... *I was told there would be coffee waiting if either party arrived before check-in. Unfortunately my sibling said the coffee wasn't hot & it was apparent that it was sitting out for awhile. That's a thumbs down! *About the bathroom in the suite - Floor seemed kind of sticky, I found some dust build up on the TP holder & the tub floor had no kind of slip prevention. It almost appeared there was a long time ago & maybe it wore off or was removed? There are marks on the tub floor but that was all. I recently had a knee injury & I was trying to step very carefully while holding onto the 2 small shower racks on the wall which you can place your soap on or whatever. I felt this was an accident waiting to happen & should be taken care of asap before someone takes a slip in that tub. And also, they could do better with their TP. I drove to the hotel & brought some softer varieties from home. But seriously, c'mon! Extended stays should splurge a bit for something like that imo. *We had the breakfast on Sat & Sun morning. Meh... The coffee was ok the first morn (Sat) but not so great on Sun or Mon morn. There's a decent variety of stuff but nothing to write home about. It's definitely a money & time saver to have the option for the complimentary breakfast though so it mostly should hit the spot. It worked for us. *The room overall was nice & cozy. There was a coffeemaker in the room (didn't use it) but I was disappointed there was no Keurig. I guess because they provide coffee but a lot of people like their Keurig's these days & can easily bring their favorite coffee along which I did. Oh well... *The bed was pretty damn comfortable. The room was quiet for the most part but then I was woken up several times during the nite to some weird noises that seemed to be coming from the hall. I have no clue & could not say what was going on. Could have been just a neighboring guest coming in or out because the doors close super hard with a big loud bang (EEK)! *Upon check out we had to do a split bill which I was hoping would not cause any confusion but we had the help of the nice gal from the nite before & a super nice manager who jumped in to make the check out an easy one & didn't mind taking the extra steps to help. Big thumbs up! *Parking was no issue, there's a big lot there. I know it seems I'm focusing a lot on the 'thumbs down' most of all but I write this to point out some stuff in hopes that management will see it & take stuff into consideration & also so people know in advance what to possibly expect. There's always room for improvement but with all that I would definitely consider using a Staybridge again if needed. This hotel was better than a lot of places I've stayed in the past so that says a lot... Overall, a thumbs up experience!

Not a big deal, but I don't know that this is something you'll really know until check-in. The building a few doors down where I stayed also appeared to be historic though a bit less grand on the main level than the main house. The lobby of the building was festively decorated for the holiday. With the bright windows, a sofa, Christmas music playing, and a tree twinkling, one afternoon I couldn't resist getting a little work done in the lobby. My room was cozy with a small kitchenette, bed, arm chairs, and desk. The arm chairs are cute but not very comfortable. The desk was perfectly positioned overlooking the windows, which made for a great spot to work. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and probably needs to be replaced (it was sinking on both sides with a high spot in the middle). For my solo traveling girlies: +The inn is not staffed all night +Doors have old fashioned keys, deadbolts, and chains +The surrounding neighborhood seems nice and safe enough +Parking is slightly off site and requires walking around the block or through the back of the property. If you don't need to bring a car, I'd opt for uber +I think there may be some permanent residents in the additional property (a couple doors down from the main house) All and all, it's a beautiful, historic property, which is one of my favorite sorts to stay in. I wouldn't likely stay there again solo, but would absolutely stay with my partner!

The main one being that I was unable to enjoy the tub as much as I would have liked. The first night the jets didn't work, and someone was nice enough to come by the next day and fix it. Later that night I was looking forward to finally using the tub as intended (and even cancelled a spa day for it) but the other guests had already used all of the hot water by then. I left without getting much of any enjoyment from the tub, which is the main reason I booked the room in the first place. The other issue was the parking situation, which, to be fair, I should have anticipated before booking, considering its location. The parking spot doesn't come with the room, so you must pay extra to access it, and finding it in the dark after dinner is not easy when you have to follow a paper map and there is a line of cars behind you. Walking back to the inn alone in the dark was also pretty unsettling. Overall, this experience was the opposite of relaxing. I will say that the property is very pretty, though, and seemed to be clean.

The building itself is impressive, although maybe not quite as impressive as the castle-looking building next door. Our party of seven settled in at the bar as there otherwise did not seem to be a large enough table for all of us to gather around in either the main lounge area or a small room off to the side. The dark wood paneled walls, large fireplace, assortment of easy chairs, couches, and high desktop table gave off a feeling of warmth and welcoming. The friendly bartender introduced herself (sorry I've forgotten her name) and informed us that spirit-wise, the bar was capable of preparing the standard, traditional drinks like Manhattans, martinis, etc. All beers were poured from cans, and at my request, she recited the names of about six that were available. I don't believe anyone in our party inquired about the wines that were available. The building simply calls out for an explanation of its history. Upon our request, the bartender offered to provide either the "brief" or "full" option. We requested the full history. She was obviously well up to the task. You would be amazed at the variety of things you could learn here. Just to touch on a few key topics that were mentioned, consider Alexander Hamilton's wife, puffed rice, Bab-o cleanser (cue up the jingle), Bishop Gibbons, and an orthopedic surgeon. I don't know what the normal food arrangements are in the Lounge. I'm guessing that our out-of-town hosts requested some snacks for us as a few bowls appeared with mixed nuts, crackers and cheese, fresh grapes, humus, and warm pretzel/croissant rolls, and a plate of prosciutto wrapped cream cheese. Overall, the atmosphere here is simply friendly and inviting. I think it will become an occasional gathering place for our local friends when looking for a place that is quiet and relaxing.

The mediocre: bed & pillows weren't 100% as comfortable as we would have hoped. The towels were not soft and fluffy. I also don't like that most hotels, including this one, use a generic type shampoo/soap (I have to use a lot of caution because I have had reactions to those types). The tv had 2 issues - the remote didn't work well and it also needed settings adjusted but wasn't accessible to fix via the room's remote (the picture shows up super bright and lower quality video due to its setting). The noise from other guests were not a problem - there was a loud'ish fluctuating hum noise heard after midnight that was coming from possibly another floor level. I was able to fall asleep with the noise - it just wasn't as pleasant of a sound as I would normally want. I wouldn't say there was anything truly "bad" about our stay.
