Easy check in process, digital key if desired. Breakfast is not free and compared to other Hilton hotels it's like the one they do for free. Wish the breakfast was included and not an extra cost. Cute Chiefs photo op in lobby area. I can't wait to see the remodel when it's complete. The pool area was clean and nice but this particular day whirlpool was not working. Fitness area is very nice. Plenty of seating around the pool with a bathroom nearby that's large family size. Convenient for a mom of littles. I wish outlets in the rooms had USB ports or outlets with them. There are plenty of regular outlets to accommodate multiple devices with cords. Refrigerators and microwaves as well as a Keurig machine with pods. I don't know why the rating is so low. The staff was excellent on my trip. Yes the rooms are dated and there is dirt in the corners. My room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would stay here again especially for the price. read more

I know it's not as "modern" in the design as other hotels, but the room was clean, spacious, our floor was VERY quiet, and the front desk are so polite and helpful! I had an issue, it was on my end, when I was trying to book, and they could not have been more understanding and helpful. I feel as if I want to do 2.5 stars but can't and 2 would be harsh, so 3 it is. We checked in around 11pm. Got to our room and unloaded the cooler into the mini fridge. The fridge was barely cold and had no knob to control the temp. Proceeded to wash my face and brush my teeth. I think I was so tired and happy to be off the road that I didn't check the bed first, like I normally do. The bed had multiple hairs-what appeared to be from a head and pubic hair. Gross... Don't get me wrong, I've checked into a hotel and have seen a singular hair. I try to give the benefit of the doubt that it could have been the cleaning person who it fell off of (I shed a ton of hair, so I get it). These sheets clearly weren't changed. A solid 10 short, dark hairs. What even looked like a weird clump of hair. I went to the front desk and changed rooms. The next room had clean bedding. Though the whole place is just worn and needs updating. Only one elevator was working. The wallpaper seams were all peeling. The tub was stained. The furniture was marked up, faded. The front desk staff was very friendly and nice at check in and when I came down about the room. For $300 and a Hilton Garden Inn this was not the typical Garden In experience. i'm sorry i haven't even drank a glass of water since like skibidi o clock (im not one of those trolls btw) and i was super thirsty that i decided to go down to the fountain and get a cup of water (since we just got there) and once i pour the water all i see is MOLD PARTICLES!!!!! This hotel is conveniently located at a convergence of highways on the east side of Kansas City. There are many restaurants in the vicinity, along with major stores like Costco and Sam's Club. An excellent steakhouse is attached to the hotel. We stayed for a Saturday night. The hotel was packed. One of the two elevators was broken (repair guys were working on it later in the evening), and that meant long waits. There are unalarmed emergency stairs, but as I found out when I took them down, on the first floor they lead to a non-public area for staff; I was told it was fine I was there, and given directions to the lobby, but it was still awkward. Our room was on the 5th floor with a sunset view of the highway. The space was nice for two people. Our room had a mini fridge, an essential on a road trip, but it lacked a real freezer section for our ice packs. There was a coffee machine with pods and a little microwave, too. There were some noisy aspects to the room: the air conditioner was quite loud when it came on, the toilet had a high pitched scream when flushed, and there was occasional road noise from the highway. I was glad I had ear plugs, but even so, I woke up often during the night because of noises; it turned out the other toilets screamed when they were flushed, too. On a more positive note, the bed and pillows were great. The gym facilities turned out to be shabby. The room had a nonfunctional Peloton bike, a broken treadmill, plus there was a recumbent bike and an elliptical of unknown functionality. The weight set was incomplete. The wall that bordered the pool had a lot of rust along the baseboards. We were left with a conflicted view of the hotel. The location was fantastic, but the hotel was rundown. We're unsure if we'd stay here again. read more

Let me start by saying the front desk staff was wonderful and friendly. Check in went smoothly. I go to my room and no complaints there. It's when I entered the bathroom. The tub was gross. Dingy and dirty looking. I took a picture because I couldn't believe they thought a person could stand in there and shower. It was late and I had an early day at work so I didn't say anything until the morning. I showed the picture to the front desk clerk and she assured me something would be done. Front desk staff was friendly, however they did not recognize me as Hilton honors, did not offer me water, some staff were taking breaks in view of guests in the breakfast area and others were having conversations about their day using some profanity in front of guests and children. The Lobby furniture was heavily worn and carpets and upholstery was heavily stained. The hallway carpet and floors were moderately stained and dirty/worn. Some Trash (pizza box) sat outside other guests doors all night and past check out time the next day. The Room Carpets and upholstery were moderately worn and stained. Th Mattress was soft and great. The sheets were clean but a little rough to the touch. The Bathroom was also moderately worn but clean. The towel rack in the shower reminded me of a cheap drive in motel 6 from 1985. The Water pressure was sub par being on 6th floor. The Faucet barley had enough water to brush your teeth with. Washing ones face was awful and very challenging. Th Wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the room. The tv remote was slick and greasy. The wall thickness and sound deadening was excellent. We could not hear other guests talking, walking, etc. Overall the room was very dated and moderately to heavily used and certainly due for a remodel for sure. The room was quite small for two queens. In my opinion a single king would fit better however I do like the adjoining rooms that both have double queen beds and do not like the king/2 queens adjoining rooms at other hotels. The room air conditioner worked fast and great. I love how it runs all the time for ambient noise. The fan was a little noisy in room 626 tho. However when we arrived in our room the AC was off completely and we he room was about 50-55 degrees. I would have preferred if the rooms were kept warmer for guests arrival like at least 67 degrees, keeping energy savings in mind. 70 if you want a much better customer experience. The Breakfast situation is very confusing with white and red breakfast passes and then just pay outright. The waitress Sam was a little short with guests and hurried guests decision on the continental option before even offering any drinks or explanations on the differences of the continental, hot breakfast buffet and ordering off the menu. It is still unknown what breakfast was included in my room booking. There needs to be much more explanation on that by far. The breakfast area was moderately dirty. Our table was EXTREMELY worn and sticky. Our table had permanent marker stains in the wood and looked more like a kindergarten craft table that was covered in syrup. Breakfast items were near tolerable. I ordered the omelet and it was mediocre. My potatoes were mushy and flavorless. My bacon was rubbery. The coffee was surprisingly decent and hot. The apple juice was cold and delicious. The ice machine was broken on our floor. The hot tub was out of order in the pool area which I looked SO forward to using after a long car trip. The elevators were horribly slow. We visit the area very frequently. I'm unsure if I will return. The hotel needs a remodel/refresh at the very least and a little more training for staff. I contacted the hotel with review and experience and they just said sorry and that they were remodeling. No reassurance on rectifying the situation or trying to offer a discount on the next stay. I'll stay at another hotel down the street next time. read more

Not my favorite Hilton experience. I logged in with my digital key, but I stopped at the front desk for my complimentary water. 10 minutes later, and much confusion I finally received my water. Apparently there was some confusion about my reservation (?). I was already checked in online, but I digress.. Once I got to my room it didn't get better. Very dirty, worn carpet, and bad repairs (see pictures). My first night my TV didn't work, but maintenance did replace it in about 1/2hr. Good location, and lots of places to eat nearby but the entire property is in dire need of repairs. read more

Not as clean as I hold Hilton's normal standard to be, so I'm disappointed. The building also looks a lot mode updated and modern on the outside compared to what's really in the rooms. There was a bug that was obsessed with the light coming from my beside lamp, so i killed it. A fly flying around. Crumbs on the floor by the fridge/coffee area. The floor was also damp around the AC unit. And there was something gross dried up on the corner of the bedsheet. Don't stay here for the Hilton name. I'm sure there's cleaner hotels in the area read more

Came here for a wedding anniversary and did not spend the night here. Facilities are clean. We had a couple tickets for breakfast the other morning. Unfortunately the eggs were runny. The breakfast area was jam packed with no social distancing. I would probably suggest for them to open a ballroom (just around the corner) for patrons to eat when the crowd gets that overwhelming. read more

Not good. Beds and linens are horrible and had to grab a change of sheets because found hair in the ones on the bed. Pretty sure they just reheat whatever leftovers are there from the prior breakfast and the potatoes . Then, the shower and no clue how they managed this got only luke warm. Did they only have 1 water heater? Carpet was stained, rust/dry rot near the shower. Flush the toilet and sounded like a rocket was going of and funny thing was it would sound like that twice (again no clue how). AC unit with insanely loud and didn't keep correct temperature. Absolutely brutal stay. I travel a ton for work and I've stayed. There wasn't anything the staff could they were working with what they had and no authority to credit nights or anything. Felt bad for my kid who had to endure this. No sleep. read more

First of all- location for this hotel was perfect for our needs, staff was nice and the chef at breakfast was great. We are Gold members and were on business. We arrived and immediately had to unload, change and leave for meetings. By the time we arrived back after a long day and dinner - sadly we see we only had one hand towel and no wash clothes. Really? As we see this is a problem, yet after a 12 hour day we didn't make any phone calls- the sink did clog up every time we used water, crack in the tile of the shower and as soon as we walk in our room the main carpet is a mess. Besides that the room was clean. I noticed in another photograph that the front area (possibly use to be a fountain?)was not taken care of, as of now they have filled the area and planted it very nicely. The brick walk still has issues,~it was raining when we left for dinner so being dressed up, it was challenging. The lobby has lots of seating and nicely arranged. read more

Had a wonderful stay this weekend but a little disappointed in the hot tub, not being hot. I Was really looking forward to relaxing in that. Loved the free coffee and the lobby area, staff was super nice but obviously short handed. They all get an A for effort, just fix up the rooms a bit and get the hot tub working how it should be. The lack of concern for guests is ridiculous. During my wife and I's 3 night stay here we were locked out of our room by a faulty card reader 4 times. The first time this happened, while waiting in the hallway outside our room for maintenance to address the situation we were approached by another guest who advised us this had happened to them the night before. The third time we had just returned from the Chiefs game and it was close to midnight. The hotel had no maintenance staff and had to call someone in to fix it. By the time we were able to enter our room it was 1:30AM. The lady at the front desk advised us that she would let the necessary personnel know; we should stop the front desk in the morning and the situation would be addressed. We spoke with the front desk attendant the next morning to ask them what their plan of action was. He advised us that he did not know what we were talking about, but they would have it looked at and taken care of by the time we returned that day; they did not have it taken care of and we were locked out of our room when we returned late that morning. After the fourth time we were finally able to change rooms. This was a known problem, but they still stuck us in the room. They did as little as possible to actually fix the problem, they merely did something to quickly take care of it and move on about their day. The hotel has no regard for its guests and does not know how to communicate problems from one employee to the other. read more

I was holding much higher hopes for this hotel. Usually Hilton Garden Inn's are nicer than say a holiday inn express, however in this case that is not the true. The elevators smell like something is perpetually on fire. My room upon check in smelled strange and unwelcoming. I'm on the 6th floor (top floor) and my water pressure is about that of a drinking water fountain. Another guest must have spilled a large amount of ketchup in their room across the hall from me, and cleaned it up with their bath towels last night. They left them outside their door, but when no one from the hotel cleaned them up by this morning that guest threw them right in front of my door. Additionally, the rooms are in decent condition, but in need of proper repairs, as another guest noted in their review. Wall and ceiling repairs have not been properly painted and touched up. Wall paper is peeling off the walls. My shower curtain bar has cracked the plastic of the shower walls on both sides. My shower curtain bar itself is not level and is slumping down, which does not allow my curtain to close properly. The staff is super nice here so far, but do yourself a favor and skip this one if you're looking for something clean and nice. There are newer and cleaner hotels around the area. What a disappointment from Hilton. Hopefully they get this particular location on track sometime soon. I come to this area about once a month for work, and am a Hilton rewards member, but I don't think I will be staying at this particular Hilton again. read more

This is the Only Hilton property in the area. This place needs a total update! ....... ! ! ! N O W ! ! ! How Hilton allows this property to bear their name is beyond me. The common areas are clean. The pool chlorine can be smelled in the lobby. Room was clean but really worn down. We were on 4th floor. The room doors had black marks and scrapes on the lower half. The elevator buttons looked so grimy I pushed them with a pen, yuck! Nice location to an open green space behind hotel. Parking lot was full with some open spots on the side for bigger vehicles. Attached restaurant has a wide variety of food and has a well stocked bar. read more

We picked this hotel and checked in before checking Yelp! reviews. While we were at dinner, I checked the reviews and, honestly, I was slightly scared to go back. There were a couple of reviews about stains and bed bugs. I was petrified. When we got back from dinner, I told him if I find so much as one bug we were leaving. I checked EVERYTHING! I didn't find a single bug and actually, everything was very well kept and clean, although outdated. We had an upgraded room and the extra space was nice. The bathroom had a double vanity, which you don't find at hotels very often. They offer Neutrogena soaps, which smell amazing. The bathtub seemed to be a safety hazard and was VERY slick - there need to be grips added for safety. Overall, the stay was good. We slept well. read more

The pool, hot tub and changing room are the most unsanitary and disgusting amenities I have seen. Most the lights don't work. The water was extremely cloudy. The pool walls were cracked and very dirty. The hot tub was dirty with huge cracks in the walls. The grates in the hot tub cracked and sharp causing potential safety issues. The room walls were rusted and paint from them and the ceiling were falling into the pool. The hotel halls all smelled like sewage. Our tub in our room would not drain and took them over a day to repair. The toilet constantly stopped up. The room carpet was extremely stained and dirty. They kept telling us they were booked and couldn't change rooms. They didn't allow us to use our first nights diamond member $20 credit. Breakfast began later than 6am and stopped before 9am window so I was unable to eat along Wwith many other upset guests.We for sure won't be back to this location. They over booked rooms every night. The second day they didnt have typical breakfast and hotel conditions never got any better. Found a bug in the bed the second day. read more

This hotel is so desperate for revenue, the "security guard" at night will not engage the behavior of teenagers underage drinking in the common areas, running the halls, and smoking pot. When we called the front seat at 2:00 and 3:00am all we got was a hollow apology. I do not recommend a weekend stay. read more

I am a Gold member w/ Hilton. We booked a room about 2 months ago for 1 night. I checked in online to my room & selected room 635 and to use a digital key. When we arrived to check in, we were told the hotel was oversold and the closest hotel for us to stay at was 35 minutes near the airport. The GM Dustin Foster was no where to be found. Instead the shift supervisor was left to give the news to guests. I was informed Dustin would not be back in the office until Monday. Where is the leader/captain of the ship when there is a problem concerning numerous guests??? I am requesting follow-up directly from Dustin and resolution on how this situation is to be rectified. A comp stay at a lower scale sister brand 35 mins away from original reservation is not acceptable. How were guests prioritized on check-ins? Where was leadership to show empathy to all of the inconvenienced guests? Just checked in at the hotel they sent us to. They don't have a room/bed type that we requested. Being a diamond member I stay at many Hilton Properties. I stayed on 5-16-2020. Room #635. The sales manager greeted me and was very pleasant. I found the hotel spotless. As always the room was clean, and quite comfortable. The internet was lightening fast. I would recommend. here is an upscale steak house attached by a climate controlled hall, within a very short walk say 500 yards max is an on the boarder Mexican food , and a twin peaks. In addition seems there is plenty of shopping in the same complex. As a traveler these are all huge plus points for me. And perfect assortment of food choices. Very pleasant in the morning, and thanked me for a my stay. So "thank you" as I enjoyed my stay. read more

My stay was May 17th and 18th. Pros: the staff is friendly. The breakfast crew servers and cook were fantastic. The breakfast covers the basic continental breakfast items. You can order several items cooked to order as well. The front desk staff was friendly and apologetic after a long wait for check-in. The room decor and bedding were standard and as expected for the brand. Cons: the hallway on the 3rd floor smells musty. The bathroom in 335 smells of mildew and urine and is in need of a deep scrub. The tub caulking and grout show signs of black mildew. The shower curtain could probably use a wash as well. Also, inside of the elevators need a solid wipe down and sweeping. The location could use some TLC. Hopefully the hotel has some upcoming renovations in the budget to improve the quality of the guest experience. read more

I'm a diamond member! I am being lied to about being the first person to come to this hotel and be ate by bed bugs! DONT NOT STAY HERE! THIS HOTEL IS INFESTED WITH BED BUGS! After looking at several reviews on Yelp I am not the first person to get ate up by BED BUGS! This hotel is infested! I stayed in room 515! They wouldn't reimburse me for my luggage, I worked 13 hours on Friday night, only to go to sleep and be awoken by BED BUGS eating the back of my neck and arms! Thank God I got up to look when I did or it would have been worse! THIS HOTEL IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, The hallways smell and it's dirty! An excellent property! I stayed here and got a tour to decide if my professional organization wanted to host our annual conference there in a couple years. The lobby is spacious and a great place for gathering. Lots of comfy seating and a fireplace for cold weather. Check in was a little rough - had to go up and down 3x because the key didn't work- the third time I went down, the desk guy realized that they had given me the wrong room number. D'oh! The room was nice. It had a fridge and microwave, which was a great touch! The TV isn't a flat panel, but the rooms on the top half of the hotel are all renovated, so they are newer. Ask for one of those. Also ask for a room that doesn't connect to another - I heard a baby crying at all hours of the night, which disturbed my sleep. Internet is free here. YES! Ample parking and easy access, including walking distance, to several restaurants and some shops too. The breakfast buffet isn't free- I think it's about 8.99. But WELL worth it. It was yummy, with HUGE selection, and fresh. They will make you eggs or omelets. Many kinds of potatoes and eggs and meats, breads, fruits, yogurt, etc. One of the best breakfast buffets I've had at a hotel. It has a small workout room, jacuzzi and pool. Perfectly functional. Kris, the director of events, personally drove me to the train station because I had to take a taxi to the hotel since the shuttle wasn't functioning. They will drive you anywhere within 5 miles. I have stayed at this hotel before. It seems that things have gone downhill room wise since I was there in October. The staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. The Conference Center area is nice and spacious. The guest rooms are starting to leave something to be desired. I was there for 2 nights for a business trip. By day 2 all my clothes felt damp from humidity. My room only had one temperature setting - 68 degrees. Fine if you like a cold room, but I like mine a bit warmer. I set the temp to 71, even 80 but the room never got over 68 degrees. I turned the fan off, and it turned itself back on. I settled for turning the fan on low so it wasn't so loud, and putting a towel over a/c unit vent while weighing it down with a pair of shoes. That helped get the temperature up to 71. The fan NEVER stopped running even when I turned the entire unit off. Now for the worse part - the bugs. I found a leg (not sure if it was a cricket or a grasshopper) on the bathroom floor. I searched every inch of my room and found no living bugs, just a peanut under the desk that never got vacuumed up from previous guest in the room. In the conference center there was a cricket hiding under the wood molding (there was an ever so small gap between the wood and the carpet for it to crawl into) and kept chirping as long as there was no movement near it. I have to come back to the area in a few weeks but I'm going to see about staying at a different hotel. read more
