I can't write a review of my stay here because my reservation for next month was canceled without my consent. This is because they are selling the hotel to Marriott. Instead of the courtesy of a phone call to give us options to keep the room, Hilton decided to cancel the reservations for anyone who used Honors points to partially cover the cost of the room. So basically we were punished for our brand loyalty. We were forced to book another hotel with fewer amenities that is no longer in walking distance from the reason we are traveling, all for almost $400 more plus now including parking costs. 1000 honors points will not nearly cover those costs. Hilton, do better if you expect me to ever want to stay in your hotels again. There is no "Honor" in the way you treat your Honors members. read more

Great Hilton in Montreal they have an executive lounge not sure what they serve besides breakfast since I was there one night going to Canada and one night leaving Canada. The restaurant is good, great bar and service. Hotel rooms are clean and staff is friendly . read more

THE PLUS - an executive lounge. Abused by some families, but there nonetheless. The location is really lousy if you planned on being in Montreal, but there is a mall nearby with some good restaurants. The onsite bar was pleasant and the restaurant served it's purpose. Staff was always nice and helpful. Parking was free so that was a new thing and much appreciated after so many $60 valet stays recently. We liked our room. It was pretty standard Hilton fare but sometimes that's all you need. read more

I am a fan of the Hilton hotels. I had been a Diamond member for many years, now I am just Gold. With that, you still get upgraded to a better room and access to the Executive lounge, when available. Unfortunately, the lounge was being renovate while I stayed there, so no luck. The room I got was remodeled, very ample, clean and with a great view of the Cosmodome. There is a refrigerator and a safe..and the toiletries are great...they give you more than a regular USA Hilton. Parking is free and you can walk or drive over to Carrefour Laval for some mean shopping. The Metro station is about 3 kms away, so most likely need to drive, take a cab or a bus to get there. Parking at the metro station can be hard on weekdays. Overall a nice hotel. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the pastries were excellent. read more

I'm a diamond member of Hilton so I'm a frequent customer. I have also now stayed at 7 different hotels in laval and feel like I have a good assessment of the hotels in the area. There are 3 hotels in Laval that to me, are a step above the rest and these are full service hotels with indoor pools, hot tubs, workout facilities, meeting rooms and a full service restaurant. Of those in Laval, I believe Hilton is the best of them. There are nicer hotels in Montreal but for Laval, this is my favorite. The members club is great and the pricing to stay here is very competitive and in fact, on many stays it's competitive with hotels that don't have a restaurant or all the amenities. The staff here is wonderful and that includes the cleaning staff and room service which I have also communicated with on many occasions. I will be back in December and January as I have already booked my rooms. Enjoy! read more

This review should have arrived a few months ago, unfortunately traveling and life got in the way a bit. As someone who traveled extensively for work over the last 10 years, I can safely say I have never found a hotel where I actually felt welcomed. Not that they were not nice, but one where I come in and out day after day for months and barely got more than a "Hi" at the door. The Hilton Laval not only made me feel welcome but it's the first hotel I actually looked forward to coming "home" to each night just because I had some friendly faces, good food and excellent drinks waiting for me! I tried my very best to book early so I didn't have the misfortune of the hotel selling out, because, it did happen a few times. The rooms were always clean and comfortable (and sure there were times in the 3+ months that there was an issue, however, it was resolved quickly). My only main complaint from the room standpoint was if you were in one of the rooms on the top 2 floors (considered Priority Floors), there is a bright light outside all of the windows shining down that is hard to block even with the curtains pulled. So, I started requesting lower floors to prevent this (I prefer top floors thought). The restaurant was great, I have never had such awesome "hotel food". My favorite was the Chicken Supreme...something about baked brie on chicken drizzled with honey...it makes my mouth water as I think about it. Now for the people that made this place worth staying...Fabien Dion, the maître d'. He always had a smile on his face and was happy to ask how my day went. He was a pleasure to chat with and from the looks of it he seems to be respected by his team. It was hard to remain in a mood if I was having a hard day with his pleasant demeanor around. Last but not least, Robert Guilbault the bartender. First I have to say that I will probably never have a Manhattan as properly made as I had made by Robert. Second, like Fabien, Robert was a happy face to see at the end of a long day. Truth be told, I rarely ate alone at hotel bars, I never felt welcome or comfortable. This was the exact opposite as I felt here. My whole experience was lightened purely because of the staff at this hotel, specifically Robert & Fabien. I would stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure. read more

The family and I stayed here for two nights of our Canadian vacation. Walking in, we were greeted by a lobby under construction. Being the first time here, I was a little leery of what the room was going to be. I was told the rooms have been renovated. When we got to our room, we were pleasantly surprised! A two room ground floor suite with its own private shaded patio! I'm usually not a big fan of ground floor rooms, but this one I will make an exception. Also, you know when you forget a toothbrush, razor etc? Well, that's all waiting on the bathroom counter; and not a skimpy sample size either! Also, the area of the hotel where we stayed you needed to swipe your key. Sliding glass doors whoosh open to get in there - Very VIP (or Star Trek) like. The hotel is just a few kilometers from the Montmorency train station to whisk you to downtown Montreal. You could drive and park at the station or request a cab from the front desk. Overall, a good experience here. I would definitely stay here again when in the area. read more

Great experience! I would stay here again. Check in is at 3pm but I didn't make it in until after 11 - no problem! Got in rather hungry, they have a little store but also gave us menus to places that deliver late. We were worried about not knowing French, no problems there either; the staff knew English and helped us along the way with closing times of stores and suggestions of places to eat. My friends and I unfortunately had reservations fall through at another establishment and we were desperately searching for hotels to stay in(all were booked in Montreal). I cannot remember her name but she was very helpful. We're sitting in the lobby searching up other possible hotels and by the Grace of God and her helpfulness, she called and recommended another place that was accommodating for this busy night. Hilton hotels are usually a pretty good middle of the road business hotel. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were fairly well kept. My room did have an oddity where the counter prevented me from keeping the toilet seat up. As with a lot of Canadian hotels they provide internet service with a fee. Oddly this hotel offers a free and a paid for option. I tried them both and couldn't tell a major difference between the two (free appeared a bit slower). There is a bar and restaurant in the lobby below which was very good, but as expected pricy. I would stay here again, but the whole $10CAD for internet still is kind of weird in this day and age. read more

Friendly staff and clean and decent size room. Undergoing construction but you can't hear anything. I was put into a handicap room and wished they gave me a heads up first. Located next to a highway with a mall on the other side. No supermarket or convenient store close by so sort of inconvenient without a car. Hotel restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. Dinner was average. There is a breakfast buffet for $17 CAD or you can order ala carte. Wait staff is super friendly! read more

This place is an amazing hotel! My main two complaints are the toiletry items are very low quality (multiple paraben ingredients) and the walls are paper thin. You can hear people talking in rooms around you. If you walk down the hallway you can hear conversations. The peso on the Room next to me was watching tv and I could hear it like it was in my room. I talk a lot on the phone so I feel bad for the people in the rooms next to me because they could hear every word. read more

This review of the Hilton Laval is based on my experience using a room for meetings and the restaurant for breakfast and lunch. We had two days of meetings and in somewhat typical style they setup the room for 20 people in a U shape and space was a bit cramped. In a previous occupation I use to conduct 15+ training sessions a year so I'm familiar with many hotels and how they operate when you rent a room for a function/meeting. For many hotels they try to put you in a smaller room and pack as many people in as possible. This room provided was a long rectangular shape and with many of our guests being big guys it was a bit cramped but not too uncomfortably! Catherine our function attendant was pleasant and was available when we needed a hand. Her service provide was a 3.75/5! What makes it more important for me is to have a person who comes by 2 - 3 times during the day to make sure everything was okay! The meeting room had nice large windows which provided some nice natural light! Meeting room was a big cold at times but I prefer it colder. Many guests were a bit uncomfortable! For the breaks I'd like to mention they put out what appeared to be V8. This was not very popular as not as many people are a s healthy conscious! Onto the restaurant. We at the breakfast buffet 2 days and the lunch buffet. I would rate this a 4/5 as there was always quite a good selection of everything you could imagine. For breakfast there was even smoked salmon! At lunch there was a good selection of salads, a few fish options and more than enough to choose from. Although we have not received the bill yet I imagine it will be a bit on the higher end! Everything is an a la carte option when it comes to meetings! I'm interested to see how much they charge for a flip chart and if they charge for wifi (that we never used)! You usually need to argue with them concerning some of the charges they want to impose. We were charged $500 for the meeting room for 10 hours which in my mind is a bit steep, but probably comparable for other hotels in the area! Stayed two nights in Feb 2013, pretty average hotel. Nice lobby area. My room was HUGE, the check in lady says it was a corner room, so try and get those if you can. the bed was ultra comfy. The bathroom was also extremely large. I received coupons for free breakfasts when i checked in, I'm not sure why, but that was nice. Breakfast buffet was vast and tasty. Stayed here in February on business. Wonderful place and even in winter lots of birds in the outdoor ponds (heated). Wish I had known about the hot swimming pool I would have brought my swimming trunks. Lots of food options in the restaurant and reasonably priced which was good for me as I did not want to head out in the cold to eat (though I did once). Not far from the entrances to the underground city and shopping. I would like to come when it is not so cold some day. read more

One front desk person was quite pleasant. Power was out multiple times. Room is decent size. Fairly clean but but old. Very standard hotel.

Do not stay here. In the middle of no where with terrible customer service. I was charged by the hotel when I actually paid using my Hilton points. I've been hearing I'm getting a refund for over a week now and unfortunately they are just liars. I already filed a dispute with my bank who will take care of it on my behalf. There are plenty of better choice hotels around. Never staying here again. read more
