Wish we had read the other reviews first, and since far away, felt like a tourist trap. Went to…read moreSackett's and not only were there a ton of fruit flies everywhere, but we overpaid for our produce, including over double for large peaches that were not Palisade peaches like we were told, but from elsewhere (likely Walmart who has better than this place). Both were completely brown and rotten on the inside by the time we bit into them the next day, even though they looked great on the outside, which is a sign of GMO. Went to Knapp's next where they have great customer service and the fruit was actually local (no peaches since no longer in season) and reasonably priced.

We stopped here on our way back home and the produce we got was mediocre and WAY overpriced. We…read moredidn't realize until we got home and unloaded it all, which is an hour away. Lesson learned, we will not be back. I tried calling to discuss since they didn't offer a receipt of any sort but nobody ever answered. Their voicemail does not identify their business so I drove the hour back but didn't get a warm interaction over it, not even an understanding attitude. They couldn't even find the receipt, they were digging through the trash for it after I insisted on seeing it. I got a "next time you come........", um there will be no next time. Good luck, I guess. I don't want a business to fail, but I will not be supporting this farm in the future.

I would give this a zero if it was possible. I paid for a bushel of roasted chiles. They were $50…read more I had some errands to run so I asked if I could just come back for them later. They said absolutely. I said it would be an hour or so because we had to go into La Junta. This was at 1230 pm. My receipt had the time on it. At 215 pm I came back. No one would wait on me. They were talking to a guy at the counter right next to me, who offered them $23 for some peppers. Guess what? Those were the SAME ones I paid for. The owner came up and said they assumed I was not coming back but she would TRY to help me. I was dumbfounded. She snapped at me and said "you said an hour". They were open for several more hours..I never said an hour, I said AT LEAST an hour. Why would it matter? No one would pay $50 for something and then not return, esp when not even close to closing and only 1 hr 45 mins went by. I PAID for these and clearly said at least an hour. No matter what they were PAID for. I asked if she had sold them for $23 since I paid $50. She whirled on me. Called me names, said I was rude. Was beyond venomous. YGTBSM! She said "I am trying to help you here". I did not understand any of this. I paid for the item. She sold them to the guy WHILE I was standing there and no one would acknowledge I was there. Then she started yelling at me when she turned on the roaster and I said I am sorry- I cannot hear you. She then screamed at me that I had to leave. Again- dumbfounded. ZERO customer service. Actual hatred and venom. I spend over $400-500 a year here buying canning tomatoes alone. I reminded her that I paid for them and she threw a $50 bill at me. I will NEVER return. But the crown in this- I went down to Knapp's. Tomatoes were $23 for a 25 lb box. Hanagans is $40. Roasted chiles were $42, Hanagans $50 and guess what?? They were nice!! The produce was fresh and they were fantastic. Guess where I will go and tell everyone else to go? Knapps'. Avoid Hanagan's like the plague. Overpriced, poor produce and the nastiest owner I have EVER met! There is NEVER an excuse to treat a CUSTOMER like this. My son's girlfriend was with me and was shocked to witness this. She said she had never seen or heard anything like this. I was treated like a criminal yet all I did was buy an item and ask to pick it up later. Was it rude to ask if they discounted it? NO, what was rude was to sell my item that I paid for and then call me names! NEVER VISIT THIS AWFUL PLACE!!!! Too many better choices within a mile or so.

The fuel station is conveniently arranged and easily accessible from three different directions…read more The store has added some solid protein items, such as jerky and trail mix, for those who are looking for more than sugary snacks. The clerks have been courteous every time I've been in. However -- in the spring of 2020, the store removed all of its ice cream and other freezer items and did not replace them for several months. They offer Dippin' Dots, prepackaged in six flavors, at prices much higher than cartons of ice cream would be. Update: I was told, and have now verified, as of September 2020, that the store has replaced or repaired the big freezer, so all ice cream and other frozen products are as they were before this past spring. I know that I was not the only person who had given up going in there to look for ice cream, so I hope this review will make others aware that all is now well.

Find it @ the Loaf'n Jug…read more I've been to many places in Rocky Ford, but this place takes the cake. Why would a convenient store/gas station get such high praise from me?? WELL, because it's a little slice of fast paced heaven for me. Everywhere I've been to in town has a slow and old school feel to it. From the parks to the liquor stores, nothing says small town like, well, everything IN the 4 block radius we currently call home. The good folks at the Loaf make me feel like there IS an active and high energy civilization outside these city limits. They gotta red box out front, a good sized convenient store area inside, quick eats you'd find @ a 7-11, and even a subway with an eating area attached. Yee-haww, your dang skippy I like this place! The lighting is bright and the place is cleaner then other places around. Sure it's all junk food and calorie ridden drinks but it gives me sanity. I've just been once and you bet your lucky sand dollar that I'll be here more often. Even though I'm not a fan, I guess a subway sammie is in order. Hey, I might even start to like 'em again! The Loaf... is where it's at. =)
