Everything from a solid built lager to even meade. The selection will not disappoint. The bar staff is quite friendly and incredibly helpful in weighing your options. For the beer on tap, they are happy to provide a sample to help sway you one way or another. Again, the bar itself is quite small on the inside with a few small tables. There is an outside seating area as well, but it is really not an option during the colder months. Overall, a solid choice to stop for a beverage. Looking forward to my next stop.

We were looking for a place that was vegan/restriction-friendly, and originally decided on the restaurant right by Steinfels. But after looking at the menu, we all agreed this was the better choice for our group of six, in terms of food selection and prices. Holy moly, my fellow American yelpers will also balk at the prices once you take a peek at the menu because meals will definitely be $25-$40 for dinner for one. And that's just for a dish! So the boo and I split a tuna burger, which was so tenderly made and perfectly seared. I loved that the staff put in extra effort to cut our burger in half after we briefly mentioned to the server that we'd be splitting this meal. It's the little things that matter! Portion sizes were the perfect amount of filling--not too much or too small. I eyed my friend's cauliflower starter which was literally an uncut head of cauliflower...which did not look easy or appetizing to eat. Service was very friendly and swift. They were pretty full, but didn't have to wait at all to be seated by the hostess. Our waiter didn't speak English that well, so we got another guy who was great and cracked some jokes with us. We all got beers--the weizen was yum and the perfect amount of zingy flavor and hops for my tastes. Beer is literally the best way to destress, amirite? We also got water upon being seated, which was great to keep us awake and rejuvenated. Their restrooms are very clean, although a bit closer in quarters compared to most restaurants back home. I just didn't feel anything spectacular from Steinfels. We didn't have any other dinner place to compare it to in Zurich because we only had one night here, but referencing it to places back in the States and other cities in Europe, this was nothing much to write home about.

Great brewery just a few minutes outside of Zürich center…read more The tap room is open on Thursday and Friday from 5pm to 8pm. You can also get a nice brewery tour. Very friendly brewer and nice atmosphere. For CHF 15 you can get 6 tasters of 125 ml and keep the glass which is quite a great deal. Beers are all very well crafted and well balanced (for example a perfect cream ale), they are mainly american inspired and they don't save on hops.

The staff there are excellent (and speaking good English, fortunately for me). They are very knowledgable about beers (the one chap provided me an absolutely stellar Barleywine). He even helped me get to the gift shop. How cool is that? They are only a couple of blocks from the main university buildings (very well placed for the students, eh?). It's not particularly large, but they carry an excellent supply of many good beers. They have a few non-beer items (glasses, stickers, etc.) but they really focus on the beer part of "beer 'n more". I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town! Highly recommended.

I do know enough to find places that can help me find the things that I like. Beers 'n' More is one of those places. I found them via some random online article saying that they carried Boulevard beer from Kansas City (my home town) which didn't turn out to be correct. However, the guy working today (who seemed to be the guy running the place) knew about every product in the store. He knew how it had been ordered, how it arrived in the store and how much of it was in stock and/or available. In any case, he asked me what I was looking for and then proceeded to give me a number of recommendations based on my likes & dislikes. I'm still waiting for my new beer to chill but I really enjoy frequenting businesses that take enough pride in their product or service to know what's going on in same. Surprisingly, it doesn't happen often enough. Oh... did I mention that the guy there today was amazingly friendly and mentioned that they actually chose their location because it came with a parking spot out front for their customers? Well, it's true. If you're into craft beer and are willing to go a little out of your way to get some, come and check out this place. This is my favorite restaurant in Zurich at the moment…read more I couldn't find a table at most popular restaurants in Zurich for NYE and then Blaue Ente offered a table in the bar. I was hesitated but went ahead as they offered a full menu. When I arrived, they reserved a small table at the corner next to the bookshelf with candle light and lovely decoration. It was so cozy and romantic in that I was glad I didn't get the dinner table in the restaurant. The service was very good. Food was excellent!! Housemade pasta was flavorful and coq au vin made with Quail, not chicken was very good. Rustic bread was also good. I highly recommend Blaue Ente for dinner, drink or just to have snack. I will definitely come back!
