She was my mortgage loan originator and branch manager at Synergy Mortgage. From the pre-qualifying step all the way until closing, Vicki held our hands through it all. I'd bought a house in the past and gone through a cheap online mortgage lender. I figured that the rates were unbeatable and I was willing to sacrifice some of the service for those rates. Now, having worked with Vicki this go-around I see what a difference this made to the experience. Where the other lender last time was incredibly hard to get on the phone or reach when I had important questions, Vicki and her team (shout-out Erinn) were available and would respond within hours (if not minutes!). My previous experience with the online lender left me on the day of closing missing documents and struggling to get things sorted before closing. It made an already-stressful situation even worse. The contrast with Vicki was night and day. I can't speak highly enough about her and the level of personalized service you receive. I thought Marlin Financial was going to be helpful, but, I found out soon just how wrong i was…read more I had a car worth $13,000 and borrowed $4000 against it. I was making my payments as scheduled. On February 3rd, 2016 I was rushed to the hospital for the 2nd day in a row, this time I was in and out of conciousness. I was seeing things and people that were not real. Fever 103, infections, medications all added to it. This went on for about 7 weeks. Around the middle of February Marlin sent someone to repossess my car. My wife was flabbergasted, she explained that I was very sick and in the hospital. She wasn't handling the finances at that time and was unaware of the loan, but, pleaded explaining the situation. They did not care! By the time I was in reality enough it was about the second week of March. I called the place that took the car on a Wednesday and Thursday with the secretary saying no one was available and took my name and number. No one ever called me back. I called Friday and finally spoke with someone who said the car was sold two days ago, the first day I called. I had also called Marlins office that Wednesday and was told that there was nothing they could do, and to keep calling the repo company. Marlin did not care, they made their money and then some and had no concern that they had not spoken to me before repossessing the car. They made no effort in helping me contact their repo company. They made zero effort to contact me, the customer! I was just a number to them. They did not care! I was in 3 different hospitals for six months and my family was not always able to come to the hospital because our second car wasn't good enough to make the trips to Tampa and Brandon hospitals. I do not recommend Marlin financial unless you want to be treated like a number instead of a person.
