Both of the stylists started berating my hair as soon as I walked in. Saying it would take 20 minutes to comb (1 that's their job and (2 he said "oh it's not as bad as it looked" when he did start combing it. Then he started telling me how I need to go buy a horse comb for my hair. Very rude and judgemental folk and didn't do a very good job. read more

I recently moved to the area and was in need of a fresh haircut. It took me over 3 years to find a barber in the previous state I lived in that wouldn't butcher my hair. Of course that person canceled on me the day before my move. Hitching Post showed up on my Yelp in Taos. The interior photos really appealed to me, having an old-timey vibe. Taxidermy on the walls and antique barber equipment. So I booked my appointment. Excellent location and parking! Kristeena met me at the door and offered me a beverage. I described to her how I like my cut and she went to work. Without a reference photo or anything, she cut my hair exactly how I like it! Kristeena offered the full barber experience with a straight razor cleanup, quick shampoo and neck massage. Hands down, the best barber experience I've ever had. Wow! Taos is finally growing up, with a new lovely boutique barber shop that caters to mens' need for quality shaves and haircuts in a refined setting. You walk in and are transported to the old west, with George Jones and Randy Travis playing in the background, and tasteful western decor appoints the place. I got a fantastic haircut, not rushed, a beard lineup, and a relaxing shampoo. I'll definitely be back here as my new regular spot.
