First things first: Herb at HJR Pressure Washing was spectacular! Many people adopted cats or dogs during the pandemic. I opted for wild birds. I started with left over bread and tortillas and moved to hummingbird feeders and a finch sock. The birds loved it, a little too much. Soon my balconies were covered in poop. Big poop, little poop, all kinds of poop. Layer that on with pollen, dust, ...cake it over with dried dyed red nectar ...and finish it off with an over zealous sprinkle of empty bird seed hulls. Bake at 100+ degrees Fahrenheit for over a year and tada!!! IT. WAS. A. HORROR. SHOW. In comes Herb to slay and save the day. I used the quote feature on Yelp for the first time and he responded to my project in minutes with a VERY reasonable price and was communicative in scheduling. In their attempts to remove an oil stain that they had left, a previously-hired contractor had used an incredibly strong acid to bleach the concrete. Not what you're supposed to do! I needed someone to rectify their 'solution'. Enter Herb. Herb let me know that he could try to 'blend' the surrounding concrete with the overly-white tile. He did this by cleaning the surrounding tiles and, it appears, adding something to make everything close to the original color. As you can see below, the results were phenomenal and much better than I had hoped. Herb was also a good communicator on Yelp. Thank you sir! read more

I was seriously impressed by the efforts of Herb today. I had a bad AirBnB guest that left today and realized they left some bad oil spots on my driveway. I immediately reached out to Herb after finding on Yelp at 10:25 and he messaged back a minute later saying he could be there today and gave me the price. I said yes and he was there at the house an hour after my first contact... thats FAST. Once there, he was diligent in doing the best he could on the oil stains. I've dealt with oil stains enough to know never to expect them to 100% come out... but he did good work. He was at the house from 11:27am to 1:45pm working it all the best he could. I've had other pressure washer people come to other properties that just do a quick spray and leave. I was impressed... I wouldn't hesitate to use his service again. read more

Unprofessional. I reached out on Yelp on a Monday to request a quote and provided my Scottsdale zip code. The owner responded back and asked for details and photos. I responded back with that info and he provided an acceptable quote and asked for my address. I sent my address on Friday and we scheduled the cleaning for the following Wednesday morning. The afternoon before the cleaning the owner messaged me informing me he wouldn't be coming to do the job, it was too far from him. Why didn't he tell me that when I reached out the previous Monday with my zip code? Or when I provided my full address on Friday? We had a great experience with Herb. He promptly came by for an estimate and then scheduled my deck cleaning 2 days later. He power washed +2000 sq ft of marble decking and our side yard slab. When I asked about our front pavers, he said they were fine and didn't need a cleaning. The deck has ever looked better. He's careful, meticulous and takes the time to do the job right. Thought he was going to use another type of machine that wouldn't be a hose so grout wouldn't be removed. He said the hose would be just as good. We should've changed our minds then but he convinced us to go ahead. We could've rented one at Home Depot but thought he knew what he was doing. He told us to get the grout filled/repaired prior to his cleaning. We did this on a Saturday and he came on a Wednesday . After he was done, we didn't notice any difference in cleanliness plus several of our pavers were missing the grout, which we had just paid to refill! AND, there was paint on the exterior walls that was also removed. Now, we have to repair the grout again and paint the walls he damaged. He asked for $200 cash and when we questioned his results, he said he wouldn't take any money. He had many reasons (excuses) for the result, but never took responsibility. He did spend almost 3 hours here so we paid him $120 anyway. He suggested we use acetone on the paint that he didn't remove on the pavers. We tried but it's not that easy or effective, plus that's what we thought we had paid for. It still doesn't do anything for the grout that's now missing. We feel like we're out $120 plus the money paid for the grout. And it really doesn't look any better. And now we have to sand and paint some of the walls. Sorry, but would not recommend.
