    There is recycling here

Hong Kong Market hot taken over by GW Market. It still looks the same as before. i don't like their meat and seafood department. But I like MK BBQ and the Taiwanese breakfast place. There is recycling available.

    Selling 4 months expired food!!!

It's no longer HK2, my receipt shows C Mart, but most say it now GW Market. There are lots of expired items on SALES bins, I think it is unethical to sell expired food.

HK2 market, unlike most supermarkets, is not very wide but rather deep. It has been awhile since my last visit here and it is nothing like what I remembered. Aisles are not clearly marked so I had to cover most of the store looking for things on my grocery list. Even that I didn't get everything on my list. Messy is the first word came to mind after I entered the store. Aisles are narrow and have a lot of boxes on the floor. It's near impossible for 2 carts to pass each other. I suspect people put up with it because its prices are very competitive. Pork hocks for example is only $1.69/lb. LGM chili oil (280g) is only $1.98 each. That said, I think I will shop at 99 market from now on.

We are doing the weekly groceries shopping for the week. It has previously Change name from Hong Kong Supermarket to HK2 l. It really improvEd thru out the years. The only complaint that I would have is for them to make sure the freezer to have correct temperatures make sure your ice cream purchased not melted and re freezes with frost Mixtec with ice cream. The place have improved from old Hong Kong Plaza. The Duke bread station has fresh breads made everyday and relived in the morning. They have the new saving program, which if you buy $100 into HK2 cash card they will return 5 dollars to you. Which means if you pay $500 to put into the card you will get $25 savings right off. The only dra back is you cannot lost the cash card. This super market has become clear and more organized than previous. They are not super crowded like near by super markets. I hope this review can bring back some in happy customers to retry the place.

We were walking through this huge shopping plaza, and suddenly we ventured into HK2 Food District. It looked like a very good Ethnic grocery chain. Every item on the shelf had foreign language labels, and looked pretty authentic. *Laughs* Pros: Butcher's on site. Cool stuff to purchase. MK BBQ joint inside this grocery chain. There was quite a bit of line at the restaurant counter. If it wasn't this far away from our house, we wouldn't mind alternating between this store and the Korean supermarkets on Beach & Malvern.

It's a small grocery shop, the grocery shelves were less organized, meat were not so fresh, fruits and vegetables were cheap and on sale though, the entire store wasn't very clean, bugs flying around and very annoying.

The store need to be inspected and fined by Food Safety department. They sell expired food in a warm food counter and the worst thing is that garbage has expired for a week. the second worst thing is I freaking ate it .... That disgusting stinky taste I would never forget.. I have suffered stomachache since last night and got to go to doctor if getting worse..

    - Locale Destination - It's on Colima Rd and between Batson Ave and Jellick Ave in Rowland Heights. It's in a big shopping center right next to bunch of super cheap restaurants. I expected it to be a super cheap and a bit dirty market the local wouldn't mind. The place looked clean and neat! Bring your own shopping bag since they'll charge you $0.10/bag! Easy parking. Less crowded than other shopping plaza. Cleanness: First thing you would notice here was the cleanness. It was very clean to the point that made me think it was a KOREAN market. You wouldn't see clean Chinese/Vietnamese markets in general. You're lucky if you found one of those (some out there!). But I read the horrid review - the butcher dropped the meat on the floor and picked it up and served it to the customer... So I'll avoid buying meats here and shouldn't trust much about their "cleanness" ;p Service: Asians sorta look alike in general, but not really (to me). It's a lot harder for me to distinguish people with dark skin (I'd be a dead meat if I had to memorize the features for eye witness or something ;p). You do feel disadvantageous here if you weren't Chinese/Taiwanese. I had only a few items on me unlike others and was the next in line for the register. I should have been the one if they opened up a new register right next to me. But the cashier grabbed the customer BEHIND me (of course she was their person), and started ringing up for her... WTF??? No logic there - at least logical to the cashier. That's not cool. Don't worry. I bitched about it in ENGLISH hoping they would have been able to catch what I said (I'm such a bad ass ;p). I'm not a racist - just observant. It's different. Price: It could be cheaper than others, but it seemed depending on the items. I kinda expected much cheaper price tags since every restaurant in the shopping plaza was so cheap. Grab the ones on sale! - Gluttony Expedition - Drinks: Vast amount of drinks - American, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican etc.. Interesting :) Fresh produce: Very clean (looks) and reasonable as an Asian market. Snacks: There're lots of interesting stuff from Taiwan on top of what you see at Asian markets in general. The prices aren't necessary cheap. Foods: Mainly Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. Some Americans and Mexicans. Meats: As I mentioned before, I'll avoid. - Conqueror's Deduction - Be selective about what you get here. Some definitely cheap but some not really (for Asian market). It's fun to try different snacks here, which I did. They had an assorted mochi from Taiwan with almost 10 different flavors in a box wrapped individually - awesome!

Cleanliness is basically what you'd expect from an Asian Supermarket. Best thing about this market is the 62 Noodle street, which is a really overdue review on my end Was trying to buy some items when we noticed it rang up as more expensive than what we saw. Cashier basically told us the price scanned is what it is and don't look at the tag saying we saw the wrong items tagged and barcode. She basically told us she can't do anything since that's what it scans as. I'm pretty sure I checked the tag so we went back grabbed the tag and brought it up. The barcodes matched so we escalated to someone more knowledgeable since the cashier didn't want to do anything. After 5-10 mins someone finally came up and said that's the price on the tag and they had to honor it. Took a lot of effort and basically the blamed corporate/headquarters for changing the prices and them not updating their tags. Not sure how that makes sense, but that's their reasoning. So be careful and aware of prices here

What a unique experience!…read more Grilling, bbq-ing, etc is a norm but steaming your food on the table? Now that's something else! I really enjoyed the dinner I had, they offer lots of options, from freshly made buns, dumplings to fresh seafood. The menu is pretty extensive and they also offer cooked dishes from the kitchen. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They made sure we get the best experience as it was our first time dining at this place. We had the big eye fish as they called it and they steamed it at the other empty table because our buns and dumplings were steaming at the same time to save time. They finish the fish at the kitchen with the hot oil and sauce. We also had the pork and shrimp buns, and beef dumplings. They were delicious! You can make your sauce at the station too and they provide good options. We also got the baby oysters appetizer that was soaking in some sort of light soy sauce marinade. Also got the soft shell crab and you get 3 whole crabs for $10! It was so worth it! The whole restaurant looked clean and inviting. The booths were spacious. I would definitely come back here and try other dishes!

The meat was sweet and tender, and the sauce had a nice balance of savory flavor without overpowering the natural seafood taste. You can tell the quality of the seafood is solid. The sea urchin egg custard was super smooth and silky. The uni added a rich, slightly briny depth that paired really well with the delicate steamed egg. Definitely a standout if you like uni. Each dishes had its own highlight. Ambiance is modern and clean, giving a slightly upscale seafood house vibe. Service was decent and the food came out nicely presented. Prices are on the higher side, but for fresh seafood and quality ingredients, it feels reasonable for a special meal. Would come back again to try more of their live seafood options.

So many tropical fruit-galore! You can get papaya, all sorts of bananas, jackfruit, basically a mini vacation for your taste buds. They've also got a fresh meat section, plus an Asian snacks corner that's like a treasure chest of goodies, perfect if you're hunting for that unique bite. And let me tell you, some of their offerings are downright wild; like chicken heads and legs you won't see anywhere else, plus packaged beef and pork blood!!! yep, blood in a grocery store! I'm not exactly sure what to do with it, but it sure is a conversation starter. And speaking of interesting finds, they've got all kinds of liver; beef, chicken, pork. I grabbed a few things, including some fresh fish, which they'll clean for you, though, if you want a full fillet, forget it. They'll just chop off the head and tail, maybe scale it, but no fancy filleting here. All in all, I'd give this place a three stars. It's not the cleanest spot, let's just say the whole store smells like a seafood market at low tide. And with only two cashiers, you might feel like you're aging in line. But if you're on the hunt for those rare ingredients and don't mind a little chaos, it's worth a visit!
