Excellent Babies R Us section with very helpful staff when making those first big purchases of prams/cots/car seats etc. Staff in the main toy shop not as engaged or helpful in my experience. Good range of first bikes and scooters on display to try out. There is also a loo in here which is kept locked so is usually clean - you just have to ask for the key from the desk.

They also have a babies r us section at the back where you can buy baby furniture, equipment, toys etc - we stocked up on all our baby things there like nappies and wipes before our baby was born! Definitely worth a visit if you have kids to buy for. There is a car park with spaces only for customers too, which is free, so that's a bonus.

The CD, DVD and game section of the store is tiny carrying only limited titles so this is not the place to shop for something that isn't in the charts. The book selection is slightly better offering a good selection of adults and children's books. The magazine and newspaper section is the largest part of the store offering a varied selection of magazines.

Stock Jo Downs glass (a local glass artist from Launceston) and Viva clay beads amongst many other lovely brands. Plenty of space to look around without feeling cramped. They also have some lovely christening/baby gifts, candlesticks, oil burners, scarves, candles, Christmas decorations, glass vases etc. They are also doing some very neat 'Wish Lists' for Christmas where you can note down things you like in the shop and slip the hint to loved ones with cash! Centrally located on the main shopping street in Tavistock. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Trago Mills is a fantastic shopping place for getting bargains!…read more A firm favourite of most Cornish people from what I ahve heard! At Trago you can buy anything from a new door, carpet to toys, clothes, shoes and a whole lot more! Outside they even have an area where you can sit by a lake and feed the ducks whilst you eat your lunch, its easy to park with lots of space and has plenty of lifts for push chairs and wheel chairs since it is on several levels. Basically whatever your needs you are highly likely to find it here and at a lower price than other places too! x

We had flown into Newquay airport and wanted to get something to eat on the drive to Plymouth…read more So we stopped at this place, as our cousin remembered there had been a cute cafe here. Well. There HAD BEEN, but unfortunately it has since been closed. Don't worry, there is still a cafe here, a local assured us. Just go into the hardware store, turn right, and keep walking. And yes! Eventually we did find the cafe. They didn't have a huge selection of soft drinks, which is an understatement, and they definitely were not COLD soft drinks. And they didn't have our first choices of entrees (the hunter's chicken and the madras chicken), or our second choices (the madras vegetables). But they did have fish and chips: two choices here, in fact. So we ordered a couple fish & chips and a plaice (a kind of fish) and chips. Prices seemed reasonable; the kind of prices you might expect in a cafe inside a hardware store. There are some large oil paintings inside the dining area - huge oil paintings featuring the founder of the mill, who seems like...a rather bizarre person. Oh, and I feel like I should mention that there are no toilets where the cafe is now in the hardware store, you have to walk back to the other building, where the cafe was when it was a cafe, to find them. Anyway, eventually we were served our fishes and chipses by a somewhat dazed and confused server. And the food was fine. Definitely reminiscent of Long John Silver's style in the US, to me. But the real joy here was laughing with our relatives about our experiences here and I'm sure we will be enjoying this for years and years to come. And that's really more important than what we had to eat or little things like that. And oh, I did like that they had bottles of malt vinegar on the table. Much more convenient than in other places, where you have to poke around in the packets of "tomato" and "brown sauce" (whatever that is) to find the thing you are looking for.

The Divine chocolate speaks for itself by it's name ( the white stuff is gorgeous!) and there is always a really good sale-especially of Christmas cards-immediately after Christmas.

Not cheap, but it's all for charity so wha the heck. One of the things I quite like about this shop is how it has a photocopier in it, which is a good way of making money as it's in a central student area. So, if you ever need photocopying done, go here and do something for charity rather than go somewhere else!

The prices are inevitably higher, but you get a pleasant environment, friendly knowledgeable staff, a book in your hand and the ability to just browse. It would be nice to have a variety of specialised and idiosyncratic Independent bookshops in the city. Sadly, those days seem to be gone. However, if book retailing has to be dominated by a single chain here, we could do a lot worse than Waterstones.
