The prices are great and if you are looking to buy a book I really would urge you to check The Works out first because everything is so cheaply priced. Their art supplies are also very good value for money and they stock different types of paints and canvases. The staff are nice, but not overly helpful and the store is small and can get quite crowded but don't let this put you off, it is a good cheap place.

Of all the department stores in Milton Keynes, for me this one is the worst!…read more I really hate it. It's not the products, it's the attitude here, and the lack of consideration for anyone who is not walking along without any encumbrances. This store is laid out so badly in places that it's inaccessible to anyone in a wheelchair, or with a pushchair, and in some places it's so bad that if you even have a bag that you're carrying you'll have difficulties accessing things. The section by the main entrance isn't too bad, it's where all the concession stands are, and they're fairly easy to access and there's space around each one which is fine. It's when you go deeper into the store that the problem starts. The display units are shoved so closely together that it becomes impossible to get between half of them, and the staff here don't seem to care and aren't interested in helping either.

Drink prices were pretty steep over £5 for a pint and a soft drink, a full pound more expensive that the gig I went to in Cambridge 2 days later. One excellent service was provided by the wandering bar staff, collecting empties all evening, so no stray glasses or bottles were ever left on the floor. Plenty of loos in the ladies. We were made welcome the moment we walked in and Steve our tour guide was a font of knowledge and so interesting, he made the tour an excellent experience and would highly recommend to anyone. Took a tour of the Marshall Factory yesterday in Bletchley. We had an amazing time. A lot of…read morehistory and gear that can only be seen during the on-site tour, and of course all manner of Marshall amplifiers, including the first JTM45 the Mr. Marshall built/produced and the amp from the movie Spinal Tap the goes to 11. Our tour guide Steve was very well versed on every aspect of the factory processes. He was also very professional and cordial and had a myriad of great stories for various museum pieces. Thanks for a great experience Steve! Cheers! We also toured the newly built Marshall recording studio. Very comprehensive live recording/performance space and they have a wonderful Neve desk from the 1970s in pristine condition that produces truly transparent and exquisite recordings. I very much prefer utilizing the older Neve desks when able. My wife and I are celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary and wrapping up a 3 month tour of Europe and heading back to the U.S.A. next week. The Marshall Factory tour was most definitely one of the highpoints of our journey. Very highly recommended.

Sadly, the age of the music shop would appear to be over certainly Pied Piper Records was losing huge amounts of money during its last years.

Heritage Music is situated in the lovely market town of Brackley, Northamptonshire. The shop is the…read moreonly fully fleged music shop in Brackley, and therefore essential to the town and area. Its a great little shop, run by two big south african chaps who are always there and happy to help. I play the saxophone, and have often wandered in for a repair to a key or pad that needs mending, there is nowhere better in the area. They are always ready to mend it, and I usually get a 'come back in a hour of so and it'll be done for ya' comment. Prices are good for minor repairs too. The shop also has a big selection of instruments for sale, mainly pianos. The shop is a converted chapel, therefore it has the high ceilings and space for all these instruments! One thing I would say is that it isn't always clear whether the shop is open or not, often I have gone in and had to shout for anyone to notice I'm in the shop! there is a loud 'BEEP' when you walk in, but sometimes you are not greeted. This is a minor criticism however and should not detract from what is a valuable edition to the South Northants high street. Very highly recommended.

'Lovemore Music' in Brackley is the sister shop of 'Heritage Music', which is right next door and…read moresells musical instruments. Lovemore is the CDs recorded music outlet of the shop. A reletively new shop, it is a great addition to the Brackley high street. Situated in a lovely old converted chapel,it has a wide choice of recordings, mainly though for the classical market. I have used both shops many times with great success, the range of classical and jazz works is especcially fantastic. The owners, two big chaps from South Africa are always welcoming and helpful. Lovemore music I'm sure was creating after noticing there were actually no other record shops in Brackley. This is true, this makes lovemore music an essential visit. The only downside to the shop is the location, it is on the high street, however slightly tucked away, and behind most of the other high street stores, maybe difficult to find. Highly recommended though all the same.
