When its sturdy manu came through our front door, I thought I'd give it a go. Their solid menu with…read morean impressive choice of both Thai and Chinese dishes enticed me enough. Not only do they serve my favourite Crispy Chilli Beef, but the cook it to perfection, crispy and flavoursome enough for me to sit back and smile, feeling that the £4.70 was well spent. Their set menus start at £7 for one and go up to £35 for 5. Ben & Jerrys is on the menu for an extortionate £4.50, which is around the same price as their main dishes, but if you fancy a bit of desert, perhaps opting for a slice of cake instead for somewhere around the £2 mark would be better and within the budget!

Around £4.50 for mains with rice, and an extra £0.50 if you want fried rice. Delivery was impressively quick, and free too as I spent more than £7. The food is fairly standard Chinese fare, although perhaps a little salty for my tastes. The portion sizes are generous enough (separate tray of rice rather than it being crammed in with the main, which is nice). We got free prawn crackers and fortune cookies which was a nice surprise! It's probably one to avoid for those with nut allergies, though (as it can be so hard to judge when getting food!). My boyfriend has a nut allergy (mainly to peanuts and cashews) and though we obviously didn't order anything with nuts in, the food had clearly been contaminated in the kitchen as it gave him a reaction (and he's not super sensitive). Having looked at the menu there's quite a few dishes with nuts in, so that's probably where the contamination came from. Not the restaurants fault as they didn't promise a nut free meal, but just be wary of this one.

I have been here a few times and went just last night with a friend and although it is not the best…read moreall you can eat buffet I have been to, it is not the worst either, my only problems with this are that the rice always seems to be hard unlike the one near the market in town where it is always soft and the second problem is the atmosphere when we walked in the waiter showed us to our table and just stood there and were were not sure if he was waiting for us to place a drink order or show us to the food as I have been to buffets where both has happend but he just stood there and made us feel really awkward, and the final problem is that the toilets need to be bigger as there is only 1 female toilet and 1 male toilet which is fine for when its quite but if its busy you may be waiting a while to use it. That aside the good points are that they have a good selection of food including duck as far as I know on everyday whereas some buffets only have it on a certain day, there is also a fish tank which is nice and relaxing to watch the fish even though 1 fish looks a bit big for the tank, 1 of the best things about this place though isn't the food it is the fact that they don't charge if you leave anything on your plate where as a lot of places will charge you £5 or £6 which isn't good if you want to try something for the 1st time and decide you don't like it. The furniture has character to it instead of being some cheap stuff to save on money which is always nice in my opinion as it makes the place stand out, the staff are friendly and say hello as you walk in and goodbye as you leave even if they haven't served you at all while you have been there. As with any all you can eat I work on the theory that you want at least 1 plate full of food for every £5 you spend on the meal to make it worth while and believe me when me and my dad go to 1 of these we make sure we get our moneys worth ; )

Imagine all your favourite chinese dishes ready to eat as soon as you arrive for just £5.50…read more Bargain! If you eat between 11-4 during the week you can have your favourites from the chinese buffet for this price (or for (£10.00 at on-peak times). The resturant is unlike other buffets I have visited which often feel more like a primary school dinner situation full of rowdy custom. Palace Chine is tucked in the corner of the Kirkstall entertainment complex and is often shadowed by the large Frankie and Bennies, Nando's and McDonalds. Nevertheless if you know where it is you will always pick Palace Chine first for some cheap and quick chinese cuisine! The venue itself is not particular plush however is uses contemporary modern design in places, traditional chinese nik-naks and basic furnishing to create it's own little niche! The food can be a little greasy however the more tradition black bean sauces and rices are just divine, especially when you consider the price
