I came into the store this morning with my 3 year old son. The older lady at the front of the store gave us a dirty look and seemed offended I had brought a child into the store. The selection of the items I wanted was decent enough (Monroe usually has a better selection but I was in the area) and the shelves for the middle were pushed so close to the end caps you couldn't fit a cart through there without lifting the back end up and over. During checkout the cashier was super nice however the older lady was once again rude. read more

I only recently learned about the store a few years ago. I go here more often than I used to go to Joann fabrics if I need any craft items. This is a great name for such a store. If everything is the path we want for every kind of hobby, time usurping activity you could imagine. It is fun just browsing the store isles and shelf, there's so many things it's quite outstanding. You'll be hard to not find something that you need for whatever crafts on your table. This is the only location I'm aware of around me and it's still about 45 minutes away from my house. read more

I pretty much like all Hobby Lobby stores, maybe because there isn't one in San Diego so I can only visit them in places I visit: Arizona, Texas, Indiana, Michigan. I was after yarn this visit and found some I liked, as always. I'm pretty sure I would choose HL over Joanns and Michaels if all three were available to me, though I'm sure I would patronize all three over time. I like that HL has some stuff that's different than the stores I usually shop at. That just makes the shopping more interesting. They have a nice selection of yarn and I like the feel and the price of the ones made exclusively for them. Also a good selection of other needlework. I think their prices on rubber stamp prices are better than most craft stores, papers are about the same. Some cons: they don't take competitors coupons like the other chains do, not open on Sundays (which is their perogative), haven't gone out of their way to help me with not having a coupon, as an out of towner, even if I'm spending a lot. read more

I was accused of stealing two items I was attempting to return. It was so poorly handled. Finally, after several awkward moments, one of the younger, less jaded cashiers said, "We can just look it up on your credit card". The customer service is incompetent and chaotic. The check out lines are ridiculously long. But at least I was able to go from being called a thief to having my account credited in the end. read more

My family and I love Hobby Lobby. This location is always so clean and organized. It doesn't take long to find what I'm looking for and I always find other stuff, too. They have a lot of season clearance after holidays which I love! Nothing like sticking up for the next year. For Christmas, they have a nice selection of kid friendly ornaments. They're heavier, not porcelain, but not too heavy to hang on a tree. I also like their year round silk floral selection. It's more than just seasonal flowers and plants, though they have those, too. They also offer 30% off furniture year round which I thought was interesting. One drawback is the Christmas tree selection. It would be nice to see more sizes and options. When we need a tree, we buy it elsewhere. read more

First of all I love this store it's one of my favorite stores. I went there tonight and employees are so nice and helpful. I chose the wrong shopping cart because the wheel was coming off and the employee apologized for the cart. Then when I was checking out the lady at the register was super friendly. I love coming here there's so many neat gift ideas and great seasonal crafts that I can use for my daycare too. The prices aren't bad either. It was hard seeing Christmas stuff out already but it is so organized and such a clean store. Definitely easy to find what your looking for. I will definitely be back! read more

I stopped in to buy a couple pictures for my walls and a bathroom mirror. The selection was good but a some of the pictures were scraped up or damaged and the last one of it's kind in stock. The prices were good there was a sale running when I was there. I like the mirror I got a lot and it looks really nice in my second bathroom. read more

Hobby Lobby is a dream to be in. BUT, a rather long, drawn out, can't just peruse the aisles dream. There's A LOT to see here. And a lot you want to buy. Do me favor and look at the first couple price tags, that'll slow you down. Things are above average on price. If there's an item I really want, there's usually a 40% off one item coupon online. Anyway, like I said there's a lot. I ended up getting a straw wreath to decorate and a rustic light switch plate, cute. They have fabric bolts and frames, puffy paints and posters. Halloween/Thanksgiving are out as well as Christmas if you can believe it. So all in all, I like the store, not thrilled about the prices and need to bring a water bottle to get through it. read more

This location has the worst customer service ever. I thought they were great because the floor person kept asking me did I find everything ok 3x throughout my shopping. I say to myself maybe she doesn't remember asking me, I mean we all had our mask on. I then proceed to the line and guess who my cashier is the same woman. The woman proceeds to check out my items and rings me up for an item that was marked down at full price. I asked her why and she stated it's not on sale and I tell her the sign says 50% off. Mind you she was stocking in the area that she kept asking if I needed help in. Anyways, I had to look the item up online to show her the markdown. She said she couldn't honor it. WHAT!!!! At this point I ask for a manager and she gives me the discounted price with no problem or hesitation. Mind you that was a $28 savings. Plus she never asked me did I have a 40% off coupon to use. This store has a great selection of flowers, seasonal and holiday home decor. The store is always clean and organized. It's my go to store for flowers and holiday decor. The holiday items sell out fast, so I usually shop early in the season to get the best selection. read more

Worst customer service ever! Would rate a zero of given the option. Store information: S 417 R 7 T 5221 Lora T Cashier Lora T was rude and abrasive with me while also saying she "just worked there" when I asked a question. I had 37 items that she insisted on sorting by vendor and price and said no to me when I offered to help to speed up the process as there were others in line. I had the app open to the 40% off one regular priced item. She asked if I had any regular priced items, and I said I did not know. She replied with a snarky, loud "then why do you have the coupon out?" I told her I thought the Hobby Lobby cashier would know, or have access to the information on what was on sale and what was not and she said no, the customer needs to know. She told me they don't scan anymore and all items have to be entered into the computer by hand. I mentioned that seemed to be counter productive. All the while she was sniffing her nose to the point I wanted to offer her a kleenex. When she finished the transaction, she stood there and I had to ask my total. I asked if they took American Express and she rolled her eyes and said no. I processed by order on another charge and she did not offer me my receipt but placed in on the counter. My purchase was in a bag behind the counter and she just stood there without handing it to me. I had to gesture and ask for my purchase! I worked in retail management for over 20 years that this behavior from the attitude at the start is totally unacceptable by any store associate. I will not be returning to this location and am considering not shopping at this retailer again if this is how the customer is treated. read more

This location is well stocked. They are prepared for each season. Their selection of artist materials is excelkent. Though sometimes pricey they are a reliable source. Their sales go well. The staff is helpfuland checkout is well done. I like their decorator items like sailing ships! read more

First I must point out the great selection of hobby supplies all under one roof. From fabric, Flowery, paints, canvas, and other art and hobby materials. A lot of hard to find stuff here that you can't find unless you travel to Utrecht's or Dick Blick. I was able to find a lot of stuff that my go to hobby supply store Micheal's no longer carried so I decided to give them a try. For example a year back said Micheal's stopped carrying a particular brand of Japanese Sumi ink that I use in my artwork. Hobby Lobby had it in stock and so so much more. They also have a wide arrangement of tools and supplies I had never seen before and was thrilled to have such a great store in my own backyard. The trip to Blick/Utrecht is quite far compared to the Canton Hobby Lobby location. The store itself is relatively new, clean, well stocked and offers a huge selection of great stuff. I am a fan!! Now the one down side. I know that art materials aren't cheap and I understand that a company has to make a profit. However it seems that Dick Blick, being one of the more upscale art stores in the area, is actually cheaper than Hobby Lobby. I guess the bright side is that if you're watchful you can always get a 40% off 1 item coupon or 25% off your entire purchase(something like that). So the question is do I spend extra money driving out of my way or resort to using coupons every once and awhile? I can say that their selection of products is different and up to the same scale as a Dick Blick high end art store, but the prices just seem a little bit high for my taste. Sorry, I'm an artist and we tend to not be the richest of people. This may make me a bit one sided, but it is what it is. Besides the prices I think Hobby Lobby is a great store and greatly superior to Joan's(unless you're into embroidery type crafting). For this type of show, this to me, is the best of the best! It's huge and there is a lil' bit of everything! It was clean and very easy to find things (bathroom is at the back, towards the left, in the frame area). LOL Are you looking for frames? yarn? crafts? material? fake plants? Cute baskets? beautiful wall hangings? Candles? vases? seasonal decorations? party supplies? It's clean and not crowded. The staff seemed fairly nice. In fact, my friend was looking for some bag tags. She snagged some poor kid who was pushing around a trolly of goods. I half expected him to blow her off, or say (without checking) that he had no idea what she was looking for, but he stopped, went to look for item and returned with information. I was shocked! If I thought he would have accepted and not thought I was prostituting him, I would have offered him a tip. The prices are very reasonable. There's a variety of decorative items to fit most tastes. I am so glad Hobby Lobby wasn't around when I was planning our wedding. I would've exceeded or budget! I was excited when it finally opened & can easily spend hours here. Normally, I am overwhelmed by craft stores & organization seems to be a challenge in most craft stores. While the layout of Hobby Lobby isn't labeled (at least I haven't noticed), it's also not a giant space with crappy clutter. It's actually spaced out well, and the aisles aren't super small & I don't have to fight my way down aisles with a tiny shopping cart. The lines still tend to be long like their competition but they seem to move it along as quickly as they can. The cashiers are always very nice. I really wish they'd open a Hobby Lobby closer to Royal Oak! read more

The positives: 1. Help is helpful. 2.Interesting items. 3.Lots to look at. The negatives:1.Confusing layout-no signage on endcaps to mark where items are. 2.Poor design-some items are garish and of poor workmanship. 3.Over-priced For example: I purchased a product by Decal Decor. It was a peel-and-stick wall decor of golden retriever puppies on a brocade couch. It was perfect to add a little color to a corner of the laundry room without hanging pictures, etc. It was priced at $20.99. Today , I went to Michael's and found the same decal for $17.99. That's a 16% price increase for the same item. it appears that they have several other items priced higher than Michael's, Meijer's, etc. Even Homegoods, who is right next door, has better deals! LOVE the Christian music playing in the background! Of all the craft/hobby stores I frequent, I prefer Hobby Lobby even though it's a drive! I always find great coupons, unexpected sales and generally lower prices. The selection of scrap booking supplies is far better than at other places. read more

We go to Hobby Lobby and Michael's all the time to buy materials for projects with our kids. But I recently became aware that Hobby Lobby is filing a lawsuit so they can exclude certain kinds of birth control from the insurance they provide employees. I don't think it's employers' business what kind of health services their employees are using. I won't give Hobby Lobby my business until they drop this lawsuit. read more

I always do some shopping in Canton when I have a doctor's appointment there and would have loved to go to Hobby Lobby next time. I am a big fan of other Hobby Lobby locations, but this store is so poorly managed. Checking out in this place is nothing less than a complete nightmare. I've walked out on two occasions because the waiting times to check out are beyond acceptable. We are talking in excess of 15-20 minutes. The worse times are beyond doubt during the day when the long haired service manager is on duty. She is completely incompetent. read more
