Been here twice already for the very first time. Huge variety of selections of herbs (including Asian kinds (very rare to find) and other plants. Affordable prices (compared to other overpriced store) yet quality plants. Workers are very accommodating as they educate you on the details of plants. We were actually referred to Hoen's Garden Center by another local nursery/garden center due to the vast selection of perennials. Hoen's is much larger than we had anticipated. They even have a quaint little coffee shop in the garden center called Queen Bee & Honey. Good variety of plants, flowers, bushes, and even small trees. Didn't buy anything on this trip, but we'll be returning in the next week or 2 when they are anticipating a delivery (including the perennials we are looking for. Win - win! read more

Such a beautiful Garden Center and (Queen Bee & Honey) Cafe! I honestly didn't realize it existed -- passed by this place numerous times. I missed their fall harvest pumpkin patch and hayride event :( During my visit, I tried one of their Autumn Specialty Coffees -- Desert Daydream which was an iced latte sweetened with organic agave, topped with cold foam and sprinkled with Desert Provisions Sonoran sea salt. This place is the cutest coffee/plant nursery I've seen! They have a VM van that they converted into a really cute coffee spot while you shop for plants and produce. I found out about this place through the 419 coffee quest and I'm so glad I did! I drop off my kiddo near here and have just found my new coffee spot! They had a basic coffee menu and offered some great featured drinks. The one I tried was the Flowers for Honey drink. It was the first time I'd ever tried cold foam and now I'm hooked. What an amazing place for the cutest coffee shop! It's a must try and visit! read more

Best Christmas tree ever ! The place is fun to visit and explore. Highly recommend.

I recommend it for overall quality. HOWEVER-attention to detail would be appreciated. I am very sad that the pepper plants I purchased marked "Red Bell Peppers" turned out to be yellow banana peppers which are useless for what I want to put away for the winter. Hoen's used to be my favorite garden center in the area. But when I went there today none of the staff were wearing masks, and I only saw one (out of many) carts being sanitized. It was crowded, yet there was no social distancing. Clearly they are more concerned with making money and packing as many people in as they can than helping to keep the community safe. I will not be going back there. read more

I always liked coming here every flower season. I had purchased some plants and a couple fairy garden figures for my grand- daughters birthday. When I went to wrap it a few days later I realized the arm was missing on one of the fairies. I returned it with the intention of buying more but the young girl at the register said- did you break it!? She was rude and disrespectful- I looked at her and said - no apparently I bought it that way. Her attitude was shocking to me and I asked her if she was accusing me of breaking it. She said she was just asking me if I broke it. - the other young girl took me to get another one and I decided not to look around and give them more of my $. As I was switching it out the Manager? came by on a bike and wondered what was going on - I told him and he just rode away. I started to leave with the exchange but it felt very negative so I decided to take it back for a refund. After the young girls gave me a refund the manager rode up on his bike and I told him the girl was rude and disrespectful but apparently it didn't mean anything to him because he didn't say anything and rode away. As I was leaving he rode up on his bike - I told him the story. He told me they were young high school girls and it's hard to find help. So he didn't want to say anything to make it worse. I replied that apparently your help is more important than your customer service. I sort of thought he would apologize but he didn't say anything!!! So I just left. read more

I signed up for a miniature garden class here with my daughter, her friend and her Mom. The class itself was fun and we made adorable little Christmas gardens with little figurines in them. The class ended around 1:50 and we brought the 4 gardens to the register to pay. (The class instructor had told us to put the price tags of plants and figurines in a ziplock bag and bring them to the register with the gardens - which we did.) At the register the girl slowly unpeeled every sticker looked at it, rang it up, then went back to looking at the garden to double check that she had it - and then would get confused and try to look it up on the register. Around 25 minutes later she finally had a total for my friend's 2 gardens. At this point a long line had formed behind us and another person came to help (mid-aged lady with long dark hair). She asked me if she could ring up everyone else in line before me and I was pretty shocked because it wasn't just one item purchases. I told her I was trying to make it to my son's basketball game and I really needed to get going. She rolled her eyes and began with our 2 gardens. They were obsessed with the notion that they would miss a figurine or plant - and we weren't hiding anything from them. She then began tearing my garden apart and making sure she had the prices on everything. She literally took up huge parts and was about to remove a path down the middle when I finally said "You're tearing the whole thing apart and we just worked on these for an hour". She snipped at me and said "Well I don't know what you expect us to do". I said there had to be a better process and we would have been happy to write the prices down as we went. Then a young man with blonde hair and glasses joined her and said "We've taught this class to 40 people and we've done it this way before". I said "You know, it's really poor customer service to attack customers that are spending $400 dollars on 4 gardens". The lady with dark hair looked at me and said "You're rude". (My friend and I are looking at one another in total shock at this point because we had sat there quietly for the past 30 minutes waiting for them to ring the gardens up - but when she started tearing them apart I said something.) She still proceeded to tear my garden apart and I think I paid for the same little mice 3 times, but at that point we just wanted out of there! They didn't stop there - the blonde haired guy continued to berate me as they were ringing me up, telling me they do this all the time and it's no problem. (If the kids hadn't made the gardens I would have absolutely left without them.) Finally - 40 MINUTES LATER our gardens were totaled and we had paid. By now I thought these people were NUTS and I said "Well, I want you to know you just lost a customer and I had two Christmas trees wrapped in the back and I don't want them". The dark-haired lady said - "Good! Go get a Home Depot tree!!" (No lie.) Once my friend and the kids and I were in the parking lot we all looked at each other and said what was that!!! The kids said those people are mean!! But wait - it doesn't end there. Here comes dark-haired lady carrying out someone's plants and she is talking about us and sarcastically says "Merry Christmas" to me at my car and continues saying things to me in the parking lot!!!! CRAZY!!! I will never go back and I recommend they take a basic customer service class. Really disgraceful to treat your customers like that!!!! Sorry this is so long but there is no short way to describe this horrible experience. When we left I told the kids we had fun making the gardens and just remember that part. She will snatch your kid up by the arm if he doesn't have a ticket, and ventures too close to the cages. I came to Hoen's for the first time this planting season and absolutely loved it! It's gorgeous and so inviting walking into the greenhouse, decorated beautifully and I was pleasantly greeted by a few employees. The flower selection is huge--I spent a good hour browsing and trying to decide what combo I wanted. I landed on a mix of petunias and spent around $200. The prices are amazing and the quality and color of the flowers is perfect. I was helped out to my car by a lovely staff member. I'll definitely be making this my number one place for all things gardening. read more

Amazing!!!! My sister and I took a container garden class here and it was sooooo very fun. The class, dirt and and educator were free along with refreshments. I did end up buying quite a few fun things for my garden. All of the staff were so helpful. I have always shopped here every spring for amazing flowers but have never taken a class. It was so worth my time. Can't wait to go back again in a few weeks for my spring flower shopping. read more

I took the miniature garden class yesterday with a group of friends. Theresa was an excellent instructor demonstrating with an example, reassuring us that we could create a minature garden, and helping us along the way. All of us made a completly different garden and were totally amazed and proud of our creations. There are so many plants and minatures to choose! I have shopped here for years, especially at the holiday season for a wreath for my grandson's grave. If there is not a wreath exactly what I'm looking for they have gladly make one up for me, at no extra charge. I was there this past Saturday,12/11/2016, checking out at the same time "Jodie D" was checking out. While I did not hear the very beginning of the conversations between her and the register person, I heard a good part of it. It's odd how I have an entirely different observation of the incident. Yes it was taking awhile, the gardens were not small, but no I only observed the "register person" and the other "lady with long hair" and blond gentleman" trying to do their best to move the process along. All the while being told they were being rude, and the customer is "Always" right. Customers may feel they are "right" but it does not give them the right to be rude, and obnoxious, to a business owner and their employees. Miss Jodie kept saying many nasty comments, and still everyone was trying their best, to find out pricing, to be fair to everyone. I was even told to "just keep out of it" when I chose to support the register people. The point of this is, don't take one person's view of a business, where not just at the holiday season, but all seasons tries to be serve their clients, as best they can. Hoen's employs and is owned by some of the most outstanding people, and their products, (plants etc) are terrific read more

This is a slice of heaven to a gardener...when you enter ...IT feels like a garden!! I am always amazed at their beautiful selection of potted planters...and they have so many unique ideas and items to enhance your garden!! BUT my husband the gardener...he is all about the quality of their plants...very well tended...very good variety ...all season long!!!
