We ordered takeout. First impression going to pick up food was how clean the restaurant is. Every surface was immaculate, no clutter anywhere, full view of the open kitchen. We ordered three appetizers. The edamame was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of salt. Dumplings were average, dipping sauce was so salty it burned the tongue. I forget the name of the last (popular street vendor food) but it was delicious. Our ramen dishes were both good. The broth was flavorful and the ingredients fresh. I liked my visit to Hokkaido. Went there for some pick up on a whim and think I will have to check it out with a group the next time I am in town. The area is clean, spacious, and there is a tv in the corner if you feel like sipping some beer and chilling. It is a bit spartan. The server was polite and my food was prepared and ready when I arrived. Checkout was fast and professional. I ordered a spicy miso soup raman bowl and it was tasty and had just the right amount of heat. I enjoyed the pork belly meat and other ingredients in the dish as well. Great! My wife and I both got the Spicy Miso Ramen and it was delicious. We were both able to add or omit ingredients as we wanted. The food took about 20mins to be served, but it was well worth the wait. A huge bowl of ramen noodles with all the fixings. The noodles were tender, the broth was delicious. The pork belly in mine was cooked perfectly. For $13 you get a huge portion so go if you're hungry, you won't be disappointed. 5 stars and we will be back! read more

Had miso ramen and chicken karaage as my standard go-to. It allows me to compare across different establishments. Chicken karaage was some cheap frozen stuff that made my stomach churn. Miso ramen was okay. More like fast food ramen you get in California. Better than the overcooked noodle starchy crap pretending to be spicy miso from another establishment which for whatever reason has great reviews. Service was great so kinda feel bad. read more

Pride of ownership abounds at this hidden storefront restaurant in Orange. Food was very fresh and service was great although we were only ones there around 8:15 on a Saturday night. Come on fellow Yelpers, give them a shot so they don't leave us. For apps, We had pan fried pork dumplings that were very tender, takoyaki which is a Japanese street food with diced octopus which we had never had before. Think of them like Japanese battered crab cakes with octopus instead of crab. They were delicious with a great sauce. Not chewy and cooked perfectly. For dinner, my son had gyu-don which is Slice beef, Onion and carrots simmered in a mildly sweet sauce flavored with dashi and soy sauce then layed on a bed of rice in a bowl. We asked to add a fried egg--next time we will ask for lightly fried. The meat is very tender but not dark like bulgogi, more fatty not marinated but very good with flavorful but not heavy sauce. Chef told us they could do it over noodles too if you prefer. Husband had chef special bulgogi which was perfectly cooked and tender - thinly sliced beef marinated and aged in special homemade sauce with mushrooms, onions and scallions with a side of rice and garnished with some sesame seeds. Chef again said this could be with noodles instead of rice. If you are with a meat lover, they will love this dish. I had Shoyu Ramen with extra noodles - I chose chicken broth but you can have pork broth instead with pork belly chashu, bamboo shoots, soy sauce and scallions. The night I went it also had kikurage mushrooms so be sure to ask if you don't like shrooms. Very comforting. Big bowl. I noticed tonight after we went that their online menu has additional items like bao which I adore and would've loved to order. Japchae, and even a ramen burger that sounds interesting!!! I agree that the the interior is lacking and the staff is inexperienced but they literally just opened, I am not sure they had their grand opening at this point, but the owner is super friendly. At first, I thought their prices were a little high ($12-13) a bowl, but it was very delicious. I have tried other ramen places in the area and they were super salty. I had the spicy miso broth and it was a very balanced broth with a nice kick to it. At first, I thought the portion size was meh but I was beyond full by the time I finished and I didn't have the overwhelming salty feeling I get from most other places. Spicy miso ramen is definitely a must get if you like spicy! First time having it with bamboo shoots and it was not a disappointment! The soup was very flavorful. We went mid afternoon, right before dinner time. There was one other couple in the restaurant. We found the service to be quick and our waitress was super nice. The selection is not huge, but the food was delicious. Ramen dishes easily have a tendency to be over seasoned and this place was able to make broth flavorful and rich. We ended up ordering a couple different bowls of ramen, as well as a rice dish. Serving size was modest and not overly generous. Perfect amount for lunch the following day. Came here this week with a couple of friends and really enjoyed our experience. The restaurant is newly opened and the staff is still getting into a workflow, but the Ramen was delicious, I went with the standard Miso Ramen and was glad I did. The broth was flavorful and the ramen noodles were a perfect consistency (which tends to be my biggest complaint with ramen, either too soft or not cooked enough). The owners came out and chatted with us and were very friendly. They haven't had a chance to put up wall decorations yet, but even without the restaurant has a comfortable feel. Very clean restaurant but still feels cozy (not sterile). Complimentary Kimchi when you sit down is a nice touch. Looking forward to coming back and trying their other apps and other Ramen flavors. read more

I found this hidden gem the other side of the complex where I had my MRI. This place is fantastic the quality of the food they're producing is fantastic. This is the best Ramen I've had since I went to ICHIRAN in New York City. If you like Ramen you must go here their menu is fantastic. They have all sorts of goodies from takoyaki eight or nine different kinds of Ramen. This was our first time and our kind waitress recommended the fried Yaki-Gyoza, my husband and I were not disappointed; it was very tasty. We also ordered the shrimp tempura and it was good. I ordered the Chashu pork ramen, it is a decent serving size which is big enough to satisfy your appetite. The broth is okay but I just wished the egg wasn't served cold. Overall, I give it 4 stars. I ordered a vegetarian ramen to go, and it was delicious. The miso broth was rich and favorable, the flavors of the vegetables complemented each other nicely (I especially enjoyed the taste of ginger), and there were enough noodles to be filling without overwhelming the other components. The to-go bowl separates the broth, which prevented my food from getting soggy, although I did have to stir the noodles before eating (they tasted great!) I will be returning for more. Delicious food with a large side of outstanding service! Lunch with my wife and Hokkaido Ramen made us very happy. We had Takoyaki and Fried Oysters, both arrived fresh and hot. Both tasted superb. The Ramen was very good. I had the Vegetarian version of their Ramen and found the miso based broth to be well balanced and complimentary to the selection of vegetables used. The portion provided was significant and more than satisfying. Very good ramen! I was pleasantly surprised by how good the flavor was, and by the portion size. I see other reviews that the broth tasted weird or gamey, that's probably because they use pork bones which is what they're supposed to use and most ramen is supposed to be a bit gamey.... the broth is literally made from animal parts. The only thing I think was missing was some more veggies. I wasn't crazy about the pickled stuff in there. The staff are really friendly and quick to serve. I'm probably going to go back today because now I am thinking about it and I want their ramen lol read more

We ordered the Spicy Miso and Tonkatsu and both were very tasty - the broth had deep, layered, flavors that only long hours of cooking can surface. Most noodle places in the area tend to have very salty broth. Not this place - the broth was well seasoned. The pork slices had a good combo of lean and fat with the braising liquid evident in each bite. They don't make the ramen noodles (not many places do), but the noodles were fresh (not dried) and cooked to a toothy, chewy perfection. Complimentary kimchi was a very pleasant surprise - we asked for more! The servers at this family run restaurant were polite and attentive, the room was clean and tidy.
