But today was even better since we went back again. Definitely a family staple and will continue to be here all the time!

I was looking for a new dessert place on Yelp since we were in the area and came across this one. There aren't enough legitimate shaved ice places here so I was super excited! They are a small food truck located in the parking lot, and they had a nice little setup with tables and umbrellas. There was a big selection of flavors and it was so hard to decide! I ended up with my usual though - POG, and I picked guava for the other side. I added ice cream in the middle. I thought it was a reasonable price for the size. The small size was plenty for me, it's even shareable still. The ice consistency wasn't quite as soft as back on the island but still better than some of the places here that have very chunky ice. It was pretty heavy on the syrup but flavor was good. I'd definitely come back here if I was in the area. It's perfect after a long day of shopping across the street at the Vacaville outlets. But it's also right off of the freeway so you can easily stop by while driving through I-80.

Really good shaved ice! They offer 2 sizes (shortboard or longboard), a huge list of different flavors, and different toppings. My fiancé and I each got a longboard. I got a longboard strawberry cheesecake with a snow cap- my fiancé got the same except he also added pineapple flavor. The snow cap is condensed milk. The guy working had really great customer service, very patient answering all of our questions. There was plenty of outdoor seating. We love to stop by here occasionally in the summer time.

Beware: the sizes are large and the flavor selection is a little out of control (too many to choose), so I was happy to go with one of their "Must Try Combos". I got a short board (small) Maui Sunset (mango, coconut, passion fruit) which was yummy and so refreshing on a hot day. My daughter got Kona sunset with sno cap, which really adds a nice smooth finish. The person who helped us was friendly and quick with our order. Subtracted 1 star for styrofoam cups. Why?! Just a plain thick paper is compostable (and cheaper than branded styrofoam cups).

This spot is legit! If you have ever been to Hawaii you know they love their shaved ice with ice cream. This spot delivers the same good stuff you find on the islands. Service is polite and can get a little backlogged if there are others before you, but definitely worth the wait! I got mine with vanilla ice cream, topped with guava and mango. Delicious!!

Seriously the most authentic shaved ice my family has ever had and it's because of one thing; their giant blue Swan ice crushers! YASSS!!! That's what I'm talking about! We just got a taste of Hawaii. It's so good! We got their version of LILO and Stitch - blue raspberry and strawberry. And the 808 with snow cap. Delish! It's so refreshing. They even got us a cup of shaved ice for our doggie. I can totally see this as a reoccurring thing for us.

Stopped by here for a quick dessert and it was such a cute truck parked right across from Saver's! They had so many different flavors and the lady who helped us out was nice enough to recommend some of her favorites. I went with flavors that I knew I would like, and they were so yummy! I would hope next time that they would add more syrup because the ice in the middle of my cup was too hard and not coated in flavor. They offer Li Hing powder as a topping, which is not offered at every shaved ice shop/truck! If you are looking for shaved ice that is close to what you can get in Hawaii, this might be your best bet.

My favorite shave ice spot. Vanilla ice cream and a snow cap (condensed milk) on top is a must! No indoor seating all picnic tables outside with shade. Tons of parking since it's in the lucky strike parking lot. So many flavors to choose from, I've been happy every time! read more

After shopping at the Outlets we needed something nice and cold and settled on Hokulia Shave Ice. Located in parking lot of bowling alley. We got the Alotta Colada shave ice Hawaiian style (with Ice Cream. The small size to share was perfect for my wife and I. Outside of the freeze brain it hit every mark. Sweet, cold and good serving size. We sat at the tables and was enjoying the hot weather with a cold treat. Go get you some! read more

After a day of trekking around Vacaville, hubby and I wanted something sweet and cold with shaved ice. I found this place by the bowling alley in Yelp. They have a truck in the parking lot with tables with shade available. We ordered the Short board of the allotta colada island style with vanilla ice cream. This is considered a small! I am so glad we decided to share as it was far more than enough we could barely finish! Aside from the brain freeze I got it was so good and refreshing on that very hot day. It also reminded me of our times in Hawaii too which I appreciated. read more

This is as close to the islands as it gets here in the Bay Area. Their ice is shaved nice a fine and they have so many flavors to choose from. Make sure you get the Sno Cap. read more

Sadly shaved ice was not fluffy at all as others have described. The syrups were also very artificial in flavor and extremely sweet. It's probably fine if you really want shaved ice but nothing close to what you can find in Hawaii and was a disappointing visit. read more

Traveled from Woodland CA after a little Yelp search for traditional shave ice. We'd travel again and again because this isn't a snow cone, guys...nor is it shaved ice cubes. As u guys might know im a snob when it comes to cold treats. This spot was a hit tho! I dont know of they post up here all the time or they pack it up and leave at night i have no clue, but i can say that im happy that i found this place and will definitely come back!! They offer three sizes, i wanna say they have the short board, the long board and the big kahuna, if u wanna be a pig like me and make a mess and dont finish ur shaved ice then feel free to order the big kahuna, thats a must share size ITS HUGE!!! Yea yea yea i know thats what she said! Lol any who they offer lots of flavors and they have some combination flavors ready to go and also have a flavor of the month deal. If u become a frequent customer like i'm planning on doing then sign up for the loyal customer deal they have which if u buy a certain amount of shaved ices u get one free. Parking is easy they have benches and tables to sit and they have a bowling alley right behind them. Incase you wanna do something on a friday or saturday night. Review #253 - 2019 After visiting my mom's grave, the kids weren't hungry, but they were more than happy to try out this shave ice spot with me. We showed up at around 2 PM on Saturday, September 7th & I drove around to see if there was anyone around, but it looked closed so I was pretty disappointed! As we were about to leave the parking lot, I decided to look once more and I noticed the windows were somewhat open. Yay! We pulled back into the parking lot & hopped out! The kids were super excited, my 10-year old niece, in particular, since we'd just come back from Hawaii a few weeks ago so she still remembers her experience at Waiola & Matsumoto. I got a haupia with snow cap to keep it as simple as possible & it was almost as good as Waiola. The only disappointment was that they don't offer mochi balls or red beans as their topping. The kids all got something different & they all seemed really happy with what they ordered, except my son who had the "citrus" which got overly sour after awhile. My niece said it was much better than Matsumoto, but still not as good as Waiola. The young girl who was working did a great job at getting all 7 of our orders done within about 10-15 minutes. Sadly, because it got super windy & cold, our shave ice started melting much quicker than I anticipated so I didn't get a picture of all our orders. I think they decided to close after we left since it was getting too cold to stay open. read more

Wish I could say I've had better in Hawaii, but I can't. This is the best shave ice place I've ever been to. I mean, Motsumoto's on North Shore is good, but they're not as good as Hokulia. Hokulia has great flavors, awesome combinations, and truly the friendliest of people working here. I'll be back, again and again. read more

I am so glad i've found this gem! First time seeing it by STARS Bowling Alley in Vacaville, and i'll tell ya I got excited to see the lil truck. I didn't know what i was expecting but it was amazing. The people there were so cool and nice, they were quite patient with me and they also recommended me some combos to try! They also accept card and cash! Cash preferred! For the price, I'd say it's worth it! I took the Kona Combo (Mango, Passionfruit, Guava) although i switched Guava with Strawberry instead, they also added a "Sno Cap" which i believe it is condensed milk, and lemme tell ya my taste buds exploded. I can't wait to go here again and try out all the other flavors and combos!! I'm excited for the next trip! (They're open anytime except Winter season!) read more

I got the Long Board (Medium) with banana flavor and a scoop of ice cream. It was completely meh. The banana flavor was *incredibly* artificial. The ice cream wasn't anything noteworthy. And that was for $8. Felt like a waste of money. I definitely won't be back and wouldn't recommend this place to others. read more

So of course since this was self serve I went ahead and pumped generous amounts of multiple flavors to create that childhood dream of a rainbow slushy. Unfortunately for me the cup overflowed with flavoring as the ice melted and I had to pour some out in order to enjoy it. I learned my lesson as to why adults do the things that they do, sometimes it's for our own protection. Overall it was still a great treat on a hot summer day.

The condensed milk on the side is a nice touch so you can adjust sweetness as desired. The mango is already sweet for me so I like to pour the condensed milk on the shaved ice instead. The ordering process is straightforward--either with a person or through a kiosk, and the interface on the kiosk is nice and organized. They have outdoor dining , and are in an outdoor strip mall with ample parking.

My husband and I ended up waiting in line for about 45 minutes in line. When waiting in line I noticed they had two machines to make the shaved ice and maybe 4 employees working. Many times I noticed that the person who was taking the orders had to step away to help speed up making the orders. There is indoor seating but keep in mind it's limited. There are some outside seating also. Their menu is pretty wide in terms of flavor variety. I liked that the menu explained what certain things were such as li hing, what's a snow cap, mochi etc. You can also add in ice cream and azuki beans to your shaved ice if you would like. My husband ordered the kid size sunset beach with a snow cap and I ordered a regular size with guava, mango and pineapple as the flavors along with a snow cap. Their shaved ice is very creamy compared to other shaved ice places I've been to. It was pretty good. My only complaint was that my shaved ice halfway through it was like the flavors weren't distributed enough because I ended up with just straight up ice with no flavor. Disappointing that I paid for a regular size with no flavor just ice and when I pointed this out to the employees they just shrugged and kept making the other shaved ice. They need to find a better way to speed up service so the line doesn't take that long and speak to customers a little nicer especially since we waited almost an hour for this.

Aloha Ice falls into its own category. Having visited Kauai and Oahu multiple times, we have yet to discover any shave ice as good as Aloha Ice. Everything they serve is homemade especially the syrups! Their range of flavors simply cannot be compared to just any other "Torani" syrup, Rita's Italian Ice, 7/11 Icee or any sno-cone out there portraying to be "shave ice."

No other shave ice company can compare to Hokulia. Flavors are bursting, ice is fluffy and melts in your mouth. With the shack, music and overall Hawaiian feeling, this place will really bring you to the islands ! The products are value priced, lines are a long wait but hey, if you want the best it's worth the wait. Add-ons are a must to achieve the real Hawaiian treat experience. Whatever flavor of ice cream you pick, any one of them is yummy. I.E. tigers blood with macadamia ice cream in the middle and snow cap topping.. craziness! Parking is good, it's next to Stars. Let's not forget the staff... they value their customers and they are very friendly. They will even tell you what the good combo is or if the add-on is a miss. You simply have to check this place out. It's up and coming- a hidden gem in Vacaville. Also, better hurry because they will only be there for the summer season. read more

The best shave ice in the Bay Area. In the hot day their shave ice are very refreshing. Sooo many flavors to choose from, my favorites are melona and lilikoi. My husband love the 808 combination with extra ice cream. Truly recommend if you are in the area. read more

Always stop in and try anything that claims to be authentic shave ice!!! This one is it! Reminds me of being on Front St in Lahaina, or my favorite shack in Kihei. Very authentic and spot on for that Hawaiian craving for shave. read more
