Hola Ola Beach Bar is a wonderful spot located in the in Cala Blanca area. Around sunset, the views of the sea are absolutely AMAZING. In my opinion, the bar primarily is a spot to relax and get a variety of cocktails, beers, and wine. The bar does offer some food items, but I would not classify it as a restaurant or a place to get a full meal per se. I believe the food items include nachos, hot dogs, and small pizzas. However, when it comes to cocktails, the world is your oyster. I believe there were about 15 different cocktails offered to quench your thirst. Personally, I went with a few rounds of Gin Tonics, Aperol Spritz, Mojitos, and a few shots (YOLO). Cocktails will cost about 10 Euros. The bar also have a pretty decent list of beers. I thought the cocktails were well prepared a beach bar.
The set up of the bar is pretty straightforward - there are quite a few large tables that sit anywhere from 2 to 10 (depending on your size) folks. Also, the bar has quite a few (I wanna say around 20) standalone chairs. While we did not have any issues finding a table for our party of 6 (around 4 pm on a weekday), I did notice that there was line to get in around 7 pm. If you know that you are going to hang out with a lot of folks, it might be a good idea for a few folks to arrive a bit earlier to ensure that you get a table. From my understanding (and to dismay of several folks in the line), the bar does not take reservations.
Overall, I thought the service was pretty nice. Even if you are sitting at a table, you will have to go to the bar to place orders; however, a member of the service staff will bring your order to your table when it's ready. Unfortunately, you have to pay for tab on the spot, in other words, you cannot start a continuous tab and settle up at the end of your visit. I guess this system is set up to avoid people skipping out on the tabs. While Hola Ola Bar takes cards, it might be better to bring cash (especially if you are a tourist from a country that does not use Euro) because those conversion transaction fees can add up. I did not realize this until I returned to the States and checked my credit card statement (ouch). read more
