Came here with a friend and got the spicy chicken sandwich and the katsu set. Both were really good. The sandwich had a solid amount of heat without being overwhelming, and the daikon coleslaw added some freshness that balanced it out well. The portion size was generous too, which I appreciated. The pork katsu was crispy, well-seasoned, and came with rice, corn, and the same coleslaw. Simple, but everything was done well. The service was friendly and made the experience easy. Ordering was quick, and the person helping us took the time to explain the menu and offer recommendations. They also had K-pop music videos playing on the TVs, which was a nice touch. Holdaak has some of the best fried chicken I've had in a long time! The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, incredibly juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The fries were fresh and crispy, and the sauces were amazing--they really tied everything together. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the food came out quickly. Got the food delivered by Uber Eats and wow, must I say it's pretty solid. Each chicken sandwich has 2 tenders. I ordered the Original sandwhich with coleslaw and spicy chicken sandwhich with their daikon slaw, with everything on the side so it doesn't get soggy on the way over. Their condiments for the sandwhich are really favorful, though I was a bit disapponted with their spicy chicken because I wasn't able to differenate which sandwhich was which because the spicy chicken did not look as red as it did in the photos. read more

This review is for my first visit at Holdaak on York. Holdaak is a quick service casual restaurant specializing in fried chicken. It was so hard to choose because they offer Korean, Japanese and American style fried chicken. I wanted to order all of them. Decided on keeping it simple and buying the five spicy strip chicken strip with fries and a drink. AMAZING! The fries were well seasoned and the chicken strips were very crispy and had just enough heat. I ordered ranch and comeback sauces for my meal. It was so much food that I had the rest for the next meal. Definitely worth the price and value. Holdaak is worth coming in if you are in the area. Check out their daily special. The good: the sandwiches and the fried chicken, good value meal. The bad: the fries and the long wait time. The fried chicken is cooked really crispy and the sandwich ingredients go really well together. The daikon slaw is a nice touch and added a lot of texture and flavor to the crispy chicken and the bun. I got the Holdaak spicy, and thought this wasn't spicy at all. I think the sauce that came with it helped, but I think if I were to come back, I'd try the Seoul Spicy. It looked pretty intimidating so I was a bit afraid to try it on my first visit. My boyfriend got the Holdaak Orginal, and I thought this was just okay, mainly because his fried chicken really didn't have a lot of flavor, and there was no sauce that came with it (you have to pay extra for that). I find it odd that the original doesn't come with the sauce, but the spicy one does. They give a massive amount of fries, but I ended up not finishing them because it was just too much to a point I no longer enjoyed them. They're supposed to be Cajun fries, but the taste was too mild, I think from either not enough seasoning or not being mixed well. They were also very soft too, and didn't have much texture. I only got the fries because the combo meal was only $11.95, which is a steal for all the food that they give. Unfortunately, the service was really slow... it took more than 30 minutes for our food to come out, when it wasn't busy at all. read more

My go to meal is the chicken strips combo. It smacks every time. They give so many fries with hella seasoning and the chicken is ALWAYS crispy. The tenders are huge n the portion is so big, for the price its great. The rest of the food isn't that crazy but the fried chicken/ sandwiches/ strips are always worth. I always get it to go since its so much faster than dining in person and its kinda cramped in there. its just as fresh and hot to go imo. only bad thing is that the drink machine is always broken/ out or hella watery. read more

TL;DR: the food is good but pricey the service is good and quick, the ambience is typical. I came here with my friend we ordered for two about 26 dollars for what you can see in the picture. You can understand it's a bit pricey but the food is good, and it is more filling than it looks. The honey mustard sauce was really good and a little tip, try putting the chicken strip in the bread and dip it. The service was good too, the guy in the front is nice and the food comes quickly. The ambience is good if you're a k-pop lover, we are not. Anyways the food is great so you should come here some time! read more

Just reviewing their boba drinks. Was driving by and a sign on the window said bobas were $4.50 for a limited time. Wanted to try their boba drinks and ordered an almond milk tea with boba and a peach tea with boba. I enjoyed the flavor of the almond milk tea and the bobas were warm and perfectly soft. My daughter didn't like her peach tea, she said it was lacking in flavor. What made me give 2 stars was, the menu showed the drinks were 20 oz, but when we got our drinks the cup size was 12 oz. It was like they reduced the cup size because of the discounted price which felt deceptive. They should just put a smaller size on the menu for the lower price. Even though the chicken was good, based on this bad experience I'm not even sure if I would come back to this business for that. read more

I'll rate this place at 4 stars because while the chicken is perfectly fine it's nothing special and the spicy chicken sandwich isn't very spicy. HOWEVER I really like this place because of the specials, the Monday and Tuesday cannot be beaten. The move is to get the Tuesday special then go to the goldfish bar before happy hour ends (7pm) and then stay for the free concert. Anyway usually the guy working there is super chill and nice and the food always comes out fast. Small dining room but I like to take it to go and eat outside. read more

They sell tenders as well as sandwiches (got the combo that has both) and loved the shredded daikon radishes on the HolDaak original version).
