It is primarily a golf club, with a great 18 hole course along with bowling green. A lovely place, tucked well away from the houses nearby. Not too fancy, but still quite elitist as far as sports clubs go with a long waiting list.

It can hold around 160 people including DJ for a party, and provides a buffet. You can't provide your own, which is what stopped me from holding my 18th or 21st in here. It is pretty expensive, and from what I recall, it wasn't great. Average, cold food which could have been provided by the family at half the cost. You have to put down a £100 damage deposit for the hire of the hall, but you get that back if you leave the place in tact. They must have changed the policy because when I rang a couple of years ago, it cost £125 to hire the hall and you didn't get that back. Average venue and average buffet food. The drinks are expensive too.

It was held in the Mill Suite, which is a downstairs suite with 2 rooms, a coatroom, and bathroom facilities. The main room consists of a bar, a seating/lounge area, and a dance floor with long tables situated at either side. It's a lovely room, very clean, modern, and welcoming. It'd be a lovely place to hold any milestone birthday, engagement party, wedding reception, etc. The prices of drinks at the bar were pretty reasonable, and space to relax or to mingle and chat. The dancefloor is a good size - definitely plenty of room for all your friends' and families' embarrassing dance moves, and all those dance-along favourites like the (heeeey) Macarena! This is definitely the kind of place I'd think of hiring for any big special occasion.

Hamilton Town Hall is a beautiful, historic, pinnacle building in the heart of Hamilton. It's been there forever, the 20's if I'm not mistaken, and has had a couple of refurbs since. I've spent a lot of time in this theatre, as the youth theatre I was part of used this theatre for their shows, and I have so many fond memories of the place having spent about 5 weeks a year in total in the theatre! Now that I'm finished doing youth theatre I do love going to see their shows, and actually went to see Cats here on Saturday night, their most recent production, and it was fantastic. The Town Hall's theatre is amazing, but their library is outstanding as well and has everything you could ever need. The staff are great and willing to help with whatever they can, and I used the reference library a lot when I was doing my family tree, so I have first hand experience with how excellent the librarian's help was in here. If you have any questions about Hamilton's history, or anything book related, the librarians in here are the people to find.

The building itself is very impresive and was fully refurbished a few years ago.As well as weddings the venue is also available for functions and conferences. There is also a large theatre and a library within the building, which i have taken my parents to many shows.Seats are lovly and comfortable and a lovely atmosphere surronds the place

Since being an adult I have been back a few times and the building still holds very good memories. The hotel is an old mill and in the restaurant they have a glass floor and as you eat from the great menu you can watch the wheel turn the water beneath you, this is not something you get in many restaurants, and it's a nice change. The building itself is very old and I love places like this. They offer some cook traditional British food on the menu. The restaurant is on the river bank and you could be mistaken for believing you are no longer in Mother well, if you are looking for a break this is the place to visit.

For this reason I was looking forward to having Christmas Lunch here, however, I was sadly disappointed. The food was served and the presentation left a lot to be desired. In fact the soup was the best where presentation was concerned. Looking forward to it I took my first mouthful on to discover it was burnt. Clearly the chef hadn't tasted this before it came out to paying customers! The main course was served on cold plates - turkey dinner consisting of one small sausage and a taste of stuffing on a plate with a couple of slices of turkey covered in gravy. Not even hot desserts were served on heated plates. Overall I was sadly disappointed with my Christmas meal - not good value for money.
