This is a family run, family style hotel. The facilities are older, built in 1963, but reasonably…read morewell maintained and clean. The rooms open up to the courtyard/parking lot where there are well-established sycamore and palm trees, huge colorful bougainvilleas, elephant ears, and other various plants, etc. This provides a small green oasis in the middle of crowded downtown brick and mortar. There are plenty of well lit sitting areas outside with patio tables and chairs. Right across the street is even a small park which belongs to the hotel and is exclusively for hotel guests. It has a tennis court, volleyball net, green areas, patio chairs and tables for picnics and outdoor gatherings. The hotel has a pool, a gym (which I did not get to see), free Wi-Fi, and offers a full breakfast. Since the rooms are all retro, there are a few electrical outlets available, none by the bed stands. There are some n the other side of the room. They do provide a desk with the chair, chest of drawers, sitting area with coffee table, air condition, hairdryer, and great water pressure for showers. It is not fancy but it is functional and clean. From the room where I stayed I could hear some of the racket in the parking lot area as the louvre windows are not well insulated. I use a sound machine app to help mask that kind of noise so I can sleep. There is a White Noise app available for smart phones that comes in handy in case you don't have one. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. Bottled water (2) is provided at no extra charge. Towels were OK. On Saturday night about 10 o'clock there was a loud knock on the door. Federal police were checking the IDs of all the hotel guests. I assume they were looking for someone in particular. They asked me who I was and why I was here, so I answered them. They told me that they were doing a security check for everyone's safety. I have traveled all over Latin America and that was the first time to experience that. But it did not bother me. I am glad they are doing their job. The hotel is centrally located in downtown Piedras Negras, only one block south of Berlanga's Orthodontics (highly recommended). For comfort, cleanliness and good wifi I 'd give them a 4. For the old facilities (some "patched up" areas on the sink counter), worn carpet, and chairs with spent padding, I'd award a 2. Service and friendliness of staff deserves a 4. The effort to provide relaxing green garden park areas and place for family friendly activities deserves at least a 4. Taking into consideration the inexpensive price my overall rating is a 4.

It's a dependable Hampton if you want something clean, straightforward, and easy. Check-in was quick and smooth (really fast), and I only needed to interact with staff during the check-in process. The front desk was friendly and the process was painless. Room-wise, everything was clean when I arrived, and the bathroom was also in good shape. Bed comfort was good and I slept fine. Noise wasn't a major issue for me, and the overall vibe felt safe and typical for the brand. A few quick specifics- * Cleanliness (room + bathroom + common areas)- good * WiFi- free, but the speed/reliability was just average for me * Parking- free self-park and easy * Amenities- there's a gym (nice to have) * AC- working as expected; thermostat was set around 69° * Elevators: available and working (there's 1 elevator) * Breakfast- offered, but I didn't attend this time Bottom line- I'd stay again and would recommend it to others. Not a "wow" hotel, but a clean, comfortable, convenient stay that does what it's supposed to do especially if you're traveling through Eagle Pass and want a reliable Hilton/Hampton option. My overall cost of staying one night in Eagle Pass Hampton Inn came out to $196.78 for the night. This was the total including state and city tax. (price could vary. I do get rooms at a "discounted rate."

I mean I understand how hotels don't like people taking towels but they don't even want you to remove your make up with them ... I am like are u F king kidding me??! That's just ridiculous !! Rate is ridiculous and I know it's because they are close to the Kickapoo casino.. I tried my best to clean it but it was tough because of the position of the plug. If I wasn't addicted to my morning cup of Joe, I would not have used that machine. That's why it's best for hotels to supply two bottles of filtered water since guest are not responsible enough to travel with their own filtered water like me :) ... Eagle Pass doesn't offer affordable hotels but you'll be alright in this one. PROS: they offer a noon check out which is rare but nice! CONS: you will be woken up by housekeeping WHICH IT TO BE EXPECTED ... no big deal... BUT you will hear them yelling to each other "they haven't checked out" ‍ more than once... unnecessary.

It was bad. The bathroom was TINY I couldn't even move without the sides of my legs hitting the door frame and the side of the tub. I know I'm not the smallest person but my mother, who is pretty small, had issue with the size as well. The place also looked like it hadn't been deep cleaned because there was grime on the floor, dirt and dust inside of the light of the bathroom and the carpet looked so old. And worst of all there were old dried stains on the comforters! I don't even want to think about what those stains might have been... I know people shouldn't expect much from a continental breakfast but a lot of other places at least serve hot food like eggs, bacon, and sausage or some kind of breakfast scramble. This place didn't have any of that. They didn't even have bagels or decent fruit. The only thing they did have was the typical make your own waffle, coffee and some boiled eggs. Not impressed at all. The only thing that was ok was the pool. I appreciated that they had decent, sturdy lawn chairs out there with umbrella covered tables, although the umbrellas were looking a little worse for the wear and could have used some replacing. Overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless it's a last resort or you're low on cash or you just don't care where you lay your head as long as you have somewhere to stay the night.

I cannot help but wonder what *else* happened. Especially since I happen to know that this place is great! I travel several times a year and always keep my eyes open for bedbugs. I have never seen one here, nor any other kind of flying or crawling bug in my room, nor have I ever heard of any from any of several other guests of this same motel over the last many years. I didn't even see an ant. It's not "fancy", but it's a good place. The room was large and very clean, and the people running this place *care* which, in my experience of many other far pricier places, is unusual. I found out about this place from a couple of other ladies who also come to stay here every year for the same Rheumatologist I do. These ladies have preferred to stay here for the last several years whenever they come. They advised me to, and now so do I advise you to. After my first experience here, this is the only place in Eagle Pass I want to stay at, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. In fact, I'll likely be here again in a couple of months and am looking very forward to it. Clearly this is not a new building, but I was impressed with the Owner and the employees as well.. My room was very spacious, very clean, and didn't have *any* of that "old musty" smell that I know some places have. None of that here at all. On my first morning here the Owner passed by and knocked at my door to see if I would like him to bring me some coffee (I am disabled). I was slow to get to the door so he went on his way. When I finally did get to the door and stuck my head out, an employee who was busy cleaning the clean parking lot told me it had been the Owner knocking, and asked if I would like him to go and bring me some coffee. They were all very kind. This is the only place that has ever happened. My room was very clean, equipped with a small fridge with freezer compartment, a coffee maker, free wifi which worked quite well, and you can park 5' from your room door. A/C and heat worked fine. Two beds in the room, I think they were king. I usually don't watch TV, but it had a flatscreen which I did not turn on. Best little eggy burritos I have ever had for breakfast. Free Continental breakfast came with my room. Do not hesitate to stay here. You'll be glad you did, just like my friends and I are, and we plan to keep on doing it.
