They do not speak much English.

The not so good is my Spanish so I'm lucky my friend speaks Spanish. The bad is the rooms smell musty, the beds are hard, the showers don't drain well. The good thing was they did change my room when I complained about the smell. Bad thing was that I could smell sewer in the new room. The restaurant was closed on Sunday evening even though hours listed on the door indicated they should be open. So we had to go out searching for a place that might be open at 7:00pm. We did find a nice taco place down the street. Our room was not handicapped friendly since there was a step up into the bathroom. The hotel is kept clean but please be careful on the bathroom slippery ceramic floors.

They only give you two bath towels, no wash cloths, or any other towels. You do get a soap and lotion. It is not cozy it's actually very bare with no comfort feel! I felt like I was at a very simple bedroom at someone's very bare home. The beds are full size and uncomfortable. They provide two water bottles and one coffee and when you ask for more they say they left some in the room but the room had a do not disturb sign so no other coffee or water was left in the room. There is no hair dryer. Like I said it's just a small room where you can sleep and leave. We didn't try the restaurant or room service. Everyone seemed to not want to be bothered including the receptionist. We will be returning to the Holiday Inn in the future. Just not for me, my opinion

We had an executive suite which was comfortable for 3 adults and we also had access to a very cozy balcony. However, the front desk provided poor customer service. Our room key had to be re-activated every day and whenever I asked the front desk clerk for assistance, she had a horrible attitude. The service includes valet parking. The valet attendants had a great personality and were always helpful. Unfortunately, they crashed our rental which created a lot of unnecessary paperwork for me at the hotel and when returning it.

We stayed in the master suite which was $800 pesos a night. It was very spacious and the bed was large enough to sleep comfortably (2adults 1baby). Be prepared to go up a couple flights of stairs depending what floor your room is on, the rooftop is on the 4th floor. They also have a common area on the 3rd floor which has two fridges, a microwave, gallon water, coffee, and snacks for everyone.

It's located right next to the famous "National Park" in the city of Uruapan, Michoacán. I had coffee, Fresh Green Juice & Chilaquiles & everything was ver delicious! The service was great as well. This hotel is beautiful! The gardens are so green & full of flowers, little singing birds everywhere,such a relax vibe. This is the perfect Hotel to stay in Uruapan. We've stayed here four times now, immensely enjoying each visit. The first time, in 2000, was supposed to be a quick one-night stay, and was based on a recommendation we received from some guy standing outside an Oxxo gas station in Uruapan, as we were on our way to Lake Pátzcuaro and Morelia. We loved this Garden of Eden setting so much, (Cupatitzio is located next to the verdant Eduardo Ruiz National Park), that we ended up staying here for three days. JP had to practically drag me out of here kicking and screaming. I did not want to leave. At an elevation of 5,310 feet, Uruapan, Michoacan has a delightful climate, with lots of sunshine, low humidity and is never hot. Even in the rainy season (May through October) there's still abundant sunshine with the afternoon thundershowers rather brief. Rooms are clean, comfortable, modern and inexpensive. Parking at the hotel is easy and abundant. The grounds are beautifully maintained, graced with a pristine pool. The hotel restaurant is top notch with delicious and excellently prepared dishes. You will be wowed by the service at the restaurant, with all sorts of formally-dressed staff fussing over every one of your needs. A self-serve laundry and gym are on the premises. But the best part of staying at Cuaptitzio are the jilguerillo birds they keep in cages on the second floor. These birds have the most magical charming call that starts low and trills up the octave. I love this hotel, and can't wait to return for a little R&R!
