I went to a tea catered by Hollie's Homegrown that was held at the lovely Rodgers Ranch Heritage Site with 8 other ladies. We were served platters of tea sandwiches and tea cakes and offered 3 types of teas. The tea was delicious and the room was decorated nicely with pretty teacups. However, the service only included 2 tiny savory sandwiches per person and several teacakes that were substandard. The owner asked us how we liked it and I explained how hungry I was after getting so few savory items. She didn't apologize, nor did she offer to give us additional food items. What a cute little shop! I was getting food next door, but decided to stop by the shop when I saw the "wine tasting" sign right outside. The place had a rustic, bright, cozy, cottage vibe, and the sunflower decorations near the windows and on the ceiling by the skylight that further brightened up the space. There were a bunch of homemade items, like different types of honey, salt, olive oils, etc., and items like biscoff mixes in bags and risotto mixes in mason jars in the back which were really cute. There was glassware by the windows, but the products looked pretty food-centric. I got a small jar of lavender honey and risotto mix, and was asked if I wanted some tea after the purchase. I said sure, and turns out they already had three different types of teas they've made using teas that they were selling. So I sat down in one of the seats along the window inside, and ended up having a little cafe time. There were other groups of people in the outside seats having tea parties as well. During my little cafe time, I got to talk to some people working there including Hollie herself, and felt like I had a great little getaway from my daily life. They even gave me a fresh branch of mint straight from Hollie's garden to take home with me. Looks like they do wine tastings there, host wine clubs, and host a variety of events, and I definitely plan on going back to check them out too! read more

Hollie is absolutely wonderful! I can't say enough fabulous things about Hollie's Homegrown, her events, her shop, her staff and Hollie herself! I first met Hollie at her highly attended salt making class which was so fun, interactive and informative. We made two glorious salt blends that smelled divine and were delicious. Her lovely staff constantly walked around to pour drinks during the event and kept everyone happy and meeting any needs. At that event I found out Hollie also hosts high tea once a month and immediately purchased 4 tickets to take my niece, mom and sister for a lovely ladies afternoon. (We all sported tiaras, gloves and pearls to complete the ensemble, as you do!) As soon as we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat! There were numerous tables set with pretty table clothes. My niece loved the fact that she was given the task of selecting which teacup and saucer we would each be using. (Hollie has a beautiful array of delicate patterns and styles from which to choose.) Then we made our election between 3 different types of glorious teas (we tried all during the course of our afternoon) and a lovely display of both savory and sweet nibbles from local purveyors. Again, her lovely staff was very attentive and warm. What I loved most is that Hollie created an atmosphere for my family to spend quality time connecting, laughing, basking in each other's company, wile enjoying a glorious spread and sipping special teas. Hollie's Homegrown is such a gem in our community and I am thrilled that I discovered it! Hollie's selection of products, many of which are grown and made locally, is varied and unique. Let me start by saying the shop is amazing and Hollie's products tantalizing. This review is just for the Sunday tea that she offers and until further notice, I would not recommend. Seven or eight teensy tables crowded into a tiny space in the otherwise spacious store was not good. The food offered was way heavy on breads, scones and cakes and not enough sandwiches. It should ideally be at least 50% sandwiches or more. And they should be very small "lady" sandwiches, thinly sliced bread, no crusts and without clunky fillings. My guest and I both agreed as we left that it was all cakes and carbs and almost no sandwiches. The staff of Hollie, her sister and good friend were super fun and friendly but service was chaotic and no one got their own pot of tea because the tables were so small so they kept coming by with pots to refill our cups (which were lovely) asking which of the 3 teas we had and would we like more then having to go back and fetch the correct pot. We were constantly being interrupted and could not carry on even a simply chat. Likely there is some reason by the city that they can't have a bigger space for public dining, but sheesh, the store beyond the tables was spacious and wide open. I have been buying Hollie's delicious herbal salts and olive oils for years, so was thrilled when she opened this beautiful shop! Not only does it feature many more delicious food products, she now sells incredible body and bath products, locally made gifts, and her family's gorgeous wines. Lovely service, gift packaging, prices that encourage you to use her oils/salts in your everyday cooking (Hollie told me that was intentional--she didn't want her products to feel too precious to use daily).
