Omg this place is awesome!! My daughter was student of the week so I decided to treat her to a girls day out starting with a stop at the salon. When we arrived my daughter was so excited!!! They have a Little vip section with mini movie theatre, play ground area and tons of cartoons for the children. No parents allowed!!! Lol My daughter is pretty shy but this place made her more than comfortable to bounce around and be herself with the girlies... then we get to her hair and it was beautiful exactly what she wanted..to sum it up this business is definitely a go to for your little princess. What sets this salon aside from the others is that it truly caters to our little divas every need. They even had hair books of their work which is not common in my experience. My daughter and friend had an appointment to receive a mani pedi and both receive braids with natural hair. The appointment was 1pm. It is now 8 hours later and the braider is still not done. The service is less than desirable and no apologies were offered. I try to support small black businesses but they definitely need to step their service up. I'll never return. Excellent place of business!! Have been coming here over 5 years and the staff and the owner are very professional and do an excellent job! Great environment for children to be entertained while they wait for their turn in the chair. My daughter always feels like home and praises this place. Kaihla always looks like a million dollars when she leaves here. Nice hair styles but...!! Pros: Great hair styles Owner is very nice with a positive and accommodating attitude. Cons: Very Loud (voice) secretary/hair stylist There's no such thing as appointments Be prepared for your child to stay 8hrs (plus) Be prepared for other clients to be placed in front of your child. Understaffed! Overall: it would be a great place if they didn't spend hours and hours and hours on your child's hair. I had a decent experience here... My 9yr old daughter searched thru books to find the hairstyle she wanted. Kinda torn at the fact the door stayed locked cuz it was cold and raining, but I realized it was safety for the kids. I left for about 90 min and my daughter was ready when I got back. I absolutely will never return to this place. I took my daughter here twice after being referred by my friend Lisa. Then after I told her about my experience she told me about her negative experiences. So I asked her why would you recommend me here and she stated because she didn't know anywhere else to take her daughter and it all depended on who was there doing the hair. The first time she got braids it was so so, didn't look all that great. I called and told them about this and they asked me to come back in to fix the problem. I should have just called and not returned because the same unlicensed young girl tried to correct the problem. Anyway I said well maybe I'll try again and get a press and curl NOT. that's all I have to say my daughter got curls, but no press. Frankly, I don't pay kids $55 to do my daughter's hair. They also say they offer birthday parties but I don't know where they would host them in that little place. They also offered a movie party where you could have a party and watch movies REALLY why would I pay to watch bootleg movies. I Will never visit this place again. First of all, they are price gouging their clients. I called to inquire about the price range...I was told $59 for any style. I have patronized them many times, but only paid $ 59 the 1st time. Every time after that it was more and more! They never do the requested style selected, they charge $5-$10 extra for extensions (which is that super-cheap, $1 a pack hair), and have the nerves to take all day!! I have had enough! I brought my daughter to this location to get her hair braided. I had become comfortable with Deana (I'm probably misspelling her name)the stylist that had done my daughter hair more than a few times at this point so on this day April 27, 2019 I left the shop and left my daughter with Deana to get her hair braided and when I picked my daughter up I noticed that her hair looked much shorter than it usually is. I went home and compared some pictures of the style that Deana had done from the first time that my daughter had the same exact style and you could see the difference right away in the length of my daughters hair her hair had been cut tremendously (I'm assuming she didn't want to detangle it). When asked, Deana said she did not cut my daughter hair. My daughter told me she felt and heard cutting of her hair and also it was quite obvious that her hair had been cut. I do not recommend this organization I do not recommend any stars it's unfortunate I had to experience this I hope no one else experiences this untrustworthy and unprofessional establishment. I have been to other kids salons but this was by far the worst. Been to kidie kuts I dont like their braids they are too big. I was going to the plaza but they are now closed I was satisfied there. So i decided to try this place. Let's start with the good. The people who work here were friendly. but, the owner (danielle) needs a reality check. I complained to her about my experience and she acted like I didn't even matter. Now the bad the place is too small for what the owners trying to do. I made an appointment for 9am there were already 2 other people there waiting to get there hair done. I told the receptionist about my appointment she checked me in. After waiting 2 hours when there is only 2 people working and I had an appointment was ridiculous. Parents beware of leaving your children here while you go do your thing. They wil be waiting and waiting and hungry please don't do that. After 2 hours of waiting I asked the receptionist how long she said about another 30 minutes ok how about another hour and a half. I asked the receptionist what was the point of making an appointment she told me they don't really go by appointments well why make one. That was the most unprofessional thing I had ever heard just plain ridiculous. My next concern my daughter chose her hairstyle and after it was finished it looked nothing like the picture. This whole experienced was just horrible. I pointed out my concerns to the owner she only stated she was sorry. at this point I was more than tired and aggrevated and so was my daughter. This was a very horrible experience and I will never recommend anyone take their kids here. My daughter attends Vanderpool and I will definitely be spreading the word about this place. This place also offers a manicure for $12. Why would I pay that kind of money for my kids nails to be polished in a a room where clients are getting their hair washed. Tacky tacky tacky! Which leads me back to leaving your child. Parents pay attention to what is being done to your child. They aren't really getting manicures and pedicures. Just their nails polished. Anyway, enough said I am just so disappointed with this place and will Never return. read more

If I could give them half a star I would I went to this place to get my son's hair braided and there just a bunch of kids LITERALLY (im older then all of them and im only 20) that dont know what the fuck there doing there ignorant ghetto and hella high priced my sons braids came out soon as I got home 10mins later. I paid 45 dollars thats right 45 dollars for shit and finally had to go somewhere else to get his hair re-braided if I could sue this place I would. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. This is our 2nd time here. The first time it took them 6 hours to finish my child's hair. They offered an explanation and claimed this was not the usual. Here again and guess what? Another 6 hours. It seems as if they overbook. There was no apology. We won't be back and I definitely would discourage anyone from subjecting themselves or their children to such a long stint in a salon. I had an evening appointment for my granddaughter but the salon was running about 3 hours behind because they take walk-ins before clients with an appointment - First come- First serve. I didn't know it at the time. I rescheduled for the first available appt the following day and when I arrived there was no one there; the salon was still locked. I called the owner and she stated that she was running behind and asked if I could come back a couple hours later. I won't ever go there again. No air conditioning, no snacks, nor water. They so disrespectful to the kids & parent Hungary & thirsty from playing but they don't care. They want your money!! I was there till 3:30 in the morning. And my appointment was @ 5:30.... Service was horrible. The assistants were confused about appointments and kept lying about how many kids were in front of mine. There was one braider. I'm so disappointed with them. I had no choice but to go there cause I was on the bus! And I live in another state I needed my daughter hair done. Just experience the the nasty customer service ever. First my child appointment was scheduled at 9:00am the shop didn't open till 10:20am no apologies for the inconvenience. Next I walked in pissed as I should after waiting since 8:50 am I didn't verbally say nor disrespect anybody but my facial expression has the receptionist mad her name is Ashley. Ashley then give me attitude because I'm mad now after waiting I woulda at least thought I'll walk in to a sorry no all attitude said to say this why black owned business never last. I work in customer service everyday I get blamed for things that aren't in my control my job is to never take it personal I reassure the guest that I apologies for any mistakes made by my employees and have empathy about situation & that I'll do whatever I can to satisfy them. None of this was done. Ashley walked off while I was talking multiple times and was just rude she did a great job on the braids however when she was done with my child hair she just walked off no goodbyes or I'm done and called the next kid hair to be washed sad. My child then got in the car and said mom I was scared to tell you but when you left she was on the phone talking about you I asked my daughter what was said she then said she was telling someone that you were arguing and cursing her out in front of your child. Never cursed at her overall bad experience when your speaking about so one parent at least be professional that cAlled could have waited till we where gone however she choose to say it right in front of my child where she could hear it and even repeat it back. Hopefully the management see this and have a meeting with the crew I didn't ask for management because she was the only 1 there however I felt I would have got the same thing so I paid and left and downloaded yelp to put my review that's how pissed I am. read more
