We went through a small path that lead us to the entrance. There were picnic tables and lots of kids/families in the area. Once we went through the front, starts a small trail which is scenic. You might want to wear tennis shoes-you are entering a hiking trail that is not paved. There are small ponds you will pass. I believe at 1.5 miles you cross this bridge with a beautiful waterfall and an old abandoned building, which is worth the hike. These woods/hike is not strenuous, but I suggest you wear the proper footwear.

I really liked that the park offers plenty of space both for relaxation and for outdoor activities. During my walk, I saw families with children, athletes, and tourists, yet the park still felt calm and enjoyable. It is a place where you can easily spend several hours without getting bored. It undoubtedly belongs among the most important attractions in Oslo. There is also a large playground for children. Admission was free, although the toilets required a small fee.

It is a big tourist attraction so in peak season it can be busy but rarely crowded except at a few popular sculptures like the angry boy. For me the sculptures were OK and felt a bit repetive in style though they are certainly all different. We took the tram here since it is a bit out from central Oslo. Both trams have stops along the way of the park. Stunning views of the fjords and the city up here. Breathtaking. The park itself has cool statues (true to Oslo statue style) and lots of old tall trees to provide shade. There is a small gift shop, cafe and wash closets on site which were all well maintained. Score. Not a #1 must see activity, but definitely worth a stop if you have time. Even if just for a few pictures of the fjords or a quick walk around the park.
