Do not use Holmstad's Plumbing. We paid upfront for our bathtub and shower to be replaced. Sketchy contact as soon as we made the payment. Barb (the owner) kept cancelling our installation appointment, would only respond via text. She would give different answers as to why. 3 months later and we still have not heard from them. We tried to get our money refunded and just call our loses. She said she couldn't do it until the end of April. We still haven't heard anything. They never refunded us our money, we never got our tub installed, and we are out thousands of dollars. read more

We had a toilet blockage that my many years of plunging experience couldn't clear. I left a message for Terry at Holmstad late on a Sunday night and he got back to me before 7 am Monday. Trent H. came out before 9 am and got our only toilet working in minutes. He got his early morning workout and that poor auger got a workout too. We're very happy with our service from Holmstad's. They did a good job on replumbing our house. Terry was professional and didn't try and push any type of sales. He gets right to the point when he talks. It's good to finally be done with the old galvanized plumbing that was here when we bought the house and have PEX. Better volume and pressure. No need to look elsewhere for some "chain" plumbing company - this company is local and has been around for over 100 years. They also give a military discount. As a veteran, that is appreciated. I had recently retired and bought a home. We needed a new water heater installed. We looked online and made an appointment for "plumbing". Two young guys showed up who claimed to be plumbing technicians. They talked a great game but were stumbling and very spendy. We needed further work and found a "plumber " in Monroe with all of the credentials and letters after his name. He said he could "do it all". Actually, He could sell rain to the clouds and lie better than satan. Ouch a disaster. My wife eventually talked to Terry at Holmstad Plumbing in Everett. We have called them a number of times and they have Real plumbers on duty when you need them. They handle complicated jobs with no problems. Extremely mediocre from the moment of no one showing up for the appointment due to not asking for a call back number, to having to reschedule after they finally got to my house, right down to being told I had to pay 435$ for the disposal when I was quoted at 375$ -- other places selling the exact same disposal for less than 300$ in several places. The overcharge is outrageous. Being told I'd get my card charged the following day and a receipt emailed which was never done, I had to call to remind them to get on it nearly 5 days later because I had a time frame to obtain this receipt for warranty purposes to send out. The overall experience wasn't what I wanted for my first contractor job on my new house and it ended up being unnecessary stress. I ended up paying more for 40 minutes of work installing disposal than it cost for me to get rear end kit work, a new battery, oil change AND labor of 3 hours into my car. I was blown away. The gentleman seemed nice enough but very lax in the organizational department and the overcharge was too much for me to want to go back for anything in the future. read more

I had a clogged kitchen sink and called Holmstad's after receiving an outrageous estimate from another company (had to pay $76 for the estimate). Holmstad's gave me a quote over the phone and while there were no guarantees it would be that amount, it came in $5 under and was less than half of what the other company would have charged. Trent was great, due to the way my sink is installed it was difficult to unclog but he got the job done. I highly recommend Trent and Holmstad's! read more

I just had the most amazing experience I have ever had with a plumber. Terry and Dale came to the house on Camano Island to help figure out why the water pressure was so low in the laundry room. After diagnosing the problem, we figured out the faucets were plugged really bad. Not only were the faucets plugged there was an issue with the piped in the crawl space. Because they were only coming out to diagnosis the problem, they didn't charge me for the amount of time it took to figure out that it was just the faucet screens that needed to be replaced. I found their work to be top notch, their professionalism to be unbeatable and their honest to be very refreshing. I will never use another plumber again. We hired Holmstad's to replace the water main running from the street to our house. We were very satisfied with the work they did. Contact with Terry was very good. He did a good job explaining our options and the cost/benefit. They price I was quoted was very reasonable and significantly less than other quotes we received. The work was done well and within the timeline we agreed on. My dad, who is an industrial plumber, happened to be visiting during this time and also confirmed his satisfacation with the quality of the work. Later when we discovered a defect, a cracked outdoor pipe, that most likely happened by accident while the work was being done, it was very easy to get Holmstad's to come and make the fix without hassle or additional cost. We also received a 20 year warranty on the main. All in all a great experience with a solid contractor. read more

We were quite satisfied with the recent work completed by Holmstad Plumbing. Some root intrusion issues with old concrete sewer pipe were identified by Roto-Rooter and they recommended replacing a significant portion of the sewer line, which would have involved digging up our yard and was quite costly. Holmstad recommended capping off and replacing only the problematic section and installing a clean out which could be accessed on the side of our house. This recommendation could be completed in the crawlspace of the house, so was much less invasive, and was much more cost efficient. The work was scheduled within a week and the job was completed professionally on-time. Would definitely work with this company again and recommend them to others. read more

I called you on 10/30 and messaged you on 10/31 concerning work you did at the house I just bought (the work was done in early September). Not only was the yard left in a terrible state, your workers cut two buried fiber optic lines. The yard won a Monte Cristo award two years ago and I will now have to invest $$$ to remove excess soil, grade the yard and resod as well as hire someone to properly lay the slate walkway. The work was sloppy. Your receipt was vague as to the extent of work done and only covered man hours, equipment costs and materials. Rather basic for an established company. Are you licensed, bonded and insured? I couldn't find that information on your website. Did you do due diligence and mark off utilities before excavation? Because the house was vacant and on the market, it seems the work was hasty and sloppy. Shame on you. Do you guarantee your work? Is there a warranty on the work done? Do you check messages and respond to clients after you are paid? This was an extensive job of replacing a sewer line. I will now be without internet for three weeks while a new cable is buried in my yard. This is also going to cost me additional money. I would never recommend you for ANY sort of work. A friend recommended Holmstad's Plumbing to me, and I'm glad she did. Terry was able to see solutions to a couple of problems that another plumber told me had no solution. Dale did a great job replacing a number of valves including the main turnoff and pressure regulator. Terry replaced my kitchen faucet, working in a very tight space. I let him choose the faucet, and he made an excellent choice. While they were working, I learned some things about plumbing from both Terry and Dale, and I now understand my system much better. And finding the source was a bit of a mystery but Terry proceeded methodically and found the blockage and cleared it and all was well in no time.
