Hmmmm - a rather disappointing experience. Full of overpriced chi-chi nonsense for the local ladies who lunch. If you're really antiques shopping, the difference in price and items will justify the cost of petrol for driving somewhere like Long Melford in Suffolk. read more

Home and Colonial Antique Centre is located just past Tesco on the High Street towards Bourne End. The shop is absolutely enormous, spanning several floors with a wide selection of Antiques. As might be expected, these can be fairly pricey but if you're after something unique this is a good place to go. If you're just browsing then there is a cafe at the top of the building which is beautiful, and if you can get a seat by the window there is a pretty good view out over Berkhamsted. So for browsing or buying, this shop is a win from me. read more

I love Home and Colonial, they have several floors and they're all filled with something gorgeous. It IS expensive, but they have solid well made antique furniture, and I've never regretted a purchase yet. Especially good for Arts and Crafts era items. Cafe on the top floor - if you can't afford that Liberty dresser downstairs, at least there's always cake! read more
