Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable and are more than likely to crack a good humoured joke or two. They don't have a website because they just have too many varieties of things to list. To give you a picture they stock 11 types of florescent tube and 80 different types of light-bulb. This isn't spatially a huge shop, but they manage to fit a massive amount in...In fact their stock is so extensive that it spills out onto the street, tin baths, bonfire bins, compost and more are stacked by and even hung up on the wall outside. ...Oh and they are extremely reasonably priced. What lets the store down is that, as others have found out, you can check stock online, but when you get to the store you find that there is no stock because they haven't updated their system. This can be very annoying! I recently saw there were 4 concrete fence repair spurs in stock so I went to buy them. When I got there, there were none! Also, when I asked, they wouldn't order them into stock so I could buy them, but only suggested I pay for delivery or drive to Bridgwater to get them myself. Went elsewhere for better service!

Y needs as there is more selection and it is cheaper and the staff are more helpful in the store.

Services include key cutting and blade sharpening, although if you bought your tools from here you won't need to use the latter so often. If they don't have what you want, for example, they'll call other hardware shops in Bristol before ordering it in. If they do have to order it in, it's always within 24 hours. The guys here are also very proud that they haven't 'sold out' to specialise in power tools. Like many businesses in the area they keep it traditional, local and very hands on.

We are constantly amazed that whenever we can't find something anywhere else, Searle & Co have more often than not come up trumps. On the rare occasion that they can't help, the friendly man points us in the direction of another brilliant one-man-band store who can. The traditional little bell on the door is always chiming so I think everyone else has also realised this little gem shining next to all warehouse versions popping up all over the place.
