Started out with promises and wishes, over a year had lost count of how many aides we went through, we had a couple gems that quit Ty heir employ within a couple weeks, no notice when aides were no shows, one example was an aide who decided wife was too much to care for,called her office said she was leaving, sent a replacement aide , who never got a report from the quickly disappearing aide and had no clue how and what my wife's need were, worst of all I never even got a phone call!!. Upon complaining I got a nicely worded apology but more issues ensued. There was no transparency in scheduling, upper management would not take calls. Could go in and on Look elsewhere ,this firm is terrible and their aides are just here while looking for a better job. read more

i worked for them for a few months and they want to seem like they care for their workers but they really don't. when i did work there they would schedule me so far out of my commute. i would drive an hour to and from my clients, this ofc gas was not paid for this. no matter how many times i asked to be closer to home they did not listen. especially when coming home from a shift i saw someone pass away in a car accident, and when i said i didn't want to travel far, they said to me "oh but what about ur paycheck?" as if that was more important than the trying to control the crippling driving anxiety i would experience afterwards if i went farther than 30 minutes away from my home. i never has a set schedule, they would often put me with hospice clients even though i was a newer caregiver who had not had the experience of caring for someone who was close to death, and when i had 3 clients pass away within a month and a half of each other, the company met me with dismissal. saying it's "part of the job" even though they never prepared me for that kind of work. the training was only 3.5 hours in one day. i saw other caregivers that would straight up neglect the clients, and when i reported them the company did nothing about it. they had low pay considering the work we do. no benefits AT ALL until ur first year, and that would still be debated at that time. they do not care for their employees and sometimes i wonder if they even really care about their clients. seeing them as money bags rather than people. also if u check their google reviews, they seem to be bought. they're all recent within the last month or so, and they deleted my review that basically said everything that's in this review. so it goes to show what kind of company they really are. read more

My mother used Home Helpers to help her get over a full hip replacement. They came out, met with her, discussed her Care Plan and was even able to respond to short notice when her hospital stay was extended. They were a really help. I would recommend them to anyone who needed help for their parents or elderly loved one. read more

I will preface this review by saying that my family used Home Helpers in Bucks County in 2017 when my mother-in-law was ill and then passed away. We were very happy with them. This year my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma so I called Home Helpers in Montgomery County when he needed nighttime supervision. When he became incontinent, I added a few hours of care in the afternoon. Then the trouble began. We had 2 aides who had to be shaken in the morning to awaken them; I called the office and these aides did not return to our home and I was not charged. We encountered a few aides who did not change my husband's diaper throughout the night, and these aides told me in the morning that they were not trained to work with a patient who could not help in the process (my husband's right side was paralyzed). Again, I asked not to be charged and was credited retroactively, which was appreciated--but it did not address the underlying problem of sending unqualified aides to care for my husband. Home Helpers did, at one point, sent out an excellent trainer to teach one of the aides the proper procedures on working with nonambulatory patients.(Unfortunately this was one of the aides who slept through the night). Home Helpers then gave us a schedule with 8 different aides in 1 week, with 5 of them new to our household. When I complained about the number of caregivers and the fact that some did not change my husband through the night/were not properly trained to care for my husband, the agency had the audacity to tell us that we would now require 2 aides to care for my husband (he was under 200 lbs at the time). When we objected and stated that the TRAINED aides they'd sent had NO PROBLEM changing my husband's diaper alone (which we confirmed with each competent aide), an agency manager then suggested that we look elsewhere for care. While we looked for another agency to take over, Home Helpers continued to send out solo aides who were able to change my husband alone. Clearly the issue seemed to be on Home Helper's end (the ability to find competently trained aides). The agency started out strong with us and we did have a few excellent, competent and compassionate aides that were wonderful to work with. Regretfully, Home Helper's lack of attention to our needs, coupled with the disruptive rotation of unskilled and changing aides being sent to my house and the rather arrogant attitude of the 2 managers I dealt with to request better care of my husband, forces my poor overall rating of their agency. read more

My wife suffers from alzheimer's Disease. She was diagnosed in 2004. I was caring for her for a number of years while still working. As the disease progressed and took my wife further from me I realized I needed to get help.Truly,I was running on empty. A close member of my family recommended Home Helpers of Lansdale. I worked closely with staff of Home Helpers and they were able to provide aides that were knowledgeable of Alzheimer's Disease and who were so very caring regarding my wife's needs. There help at home enabled me to more closely focus my attention on my job as I prepared for my retirement. Home helpers cared for my wife for close to two years. My wife is now in an assisted living home and is in End Stage of Alzheimer's. I stay in contact with Home Helpers and would not hesitated to call on them again if a need arises. My family have used Home Helpers for the past three years. My mother Pat had both heart and lung problems and was confined to a wheelchair. My father was the primary care giver but that became increasingly harder due to my mother's needs. Home Helpers provided professional care for my mother and gave my father a much needed rest. They helped with the household chores, prepared meals, dressed and bathed my mother and ran errands. They gave my father back alot of his freedom. He was able to get out of the house without worrying about my mother because he knew she was with capable and caring people. My mother is at the point in her life where she needs someone to be with her overnight. Since everyone in our family is working full time, this was something that we could just not do for her. Home Helpers has been the perfect solution for us. Their team of caregivers has been caring with my mother, very pleasant to be around and reliable, even during the holidays. When we needed to add some emergency daytime shifts, the scheduler has been able to find a caregiver quickly. My mother needed alot of care at home. She needed help with bathing, food preparation, laundry, etc... and the caregivers were very nice and experienced. We have used HomeHelpers for about two years now. My parents live at home and my Mother has severe Alzheimer's. The agency has been wonderful. They have been extremely quick and responsive to all of our changing needs as the disease has progressed. At one point, Mom was in the hospital for a few weeks...I found out after the fact that they went to the hospital and assessed her needs before she came home. They are truly a professional organization. It is not easy to please me when it comes to taking care of Mom, but Home Helpers has done an outstanding job. I highly recommend them. read more

ZERO stars.This agency is a disgrace. Most of the caregivers are ok, some very good, like most any other agency. The communication from the agency and the way the management handled the caregivers as employees was horrible. There were problems with scheduling and caregivers themselves that were handled very unprofessionally. Stay away from this company!! read more
