Luckily they have a chili pepper image next to the spicy pizzas on the menu, so I knew what was coming, but fortunately it wasn't too spicy. It took about 20 minutes and was delicious and crunchy. Stumbled across this place while looking for somewhere to eat breakfast. It was relatively empty, and we were able to self-seat right away. Our server was so sweet and so attentive the entire time. He even got me a sample of cottage cheese after he heard I'd never tried it before. I ordered the weekend special of the breakfast quesadilla & it was so, so good! The onions were cut a little large, which was slightly hard to eat, but definitely not a big deal at all!! My friends and I really enjoyed our breakfasts and the ice coffees were also super delicious. The Hananero burger was done just right , medium. Beef tasty with that kick of spice, plenty of toppings: real lettuce, slice red onion, melted cheese. Everything that makes a fabulous burger. Hubby enjoyed his shrimp burger (for something a little different) and fries; however fries a little overly greasy. This place has great food and a great staff. Although the place looks a little run down and in a weird location (behind a gas station), I'd definitely recommend giving them a try! My family and I came here on a Saturday as a second try after the first breakfast place we went to had way too long of a wait. When we got here, we were seated right away and they took special care to fit us in with our dog even though the outside seats were all taken. I ended up getting the pork chile verde with scrambled eggs and it was to die for! So good! It came with fresh, hot tortillas and was the perfect amount. The prices were reasonable and the wait staff were quick with any request we had. The check had a QR code to pay with your phone, which made it quick when we were done. Picked up carry out. Got the mango habanero burger, one a beget and one with chicken. The beef one was great, the chicken breast was dry but ok and the toppings were great. We also got fried which we didn't eat. They were cold but the real reason was when I went in to get our order , I saw one of the guys working there using his bare hands to fill bags of fries for orders and it grossed me out. I know you have to use your hands to prepare the food, but usually not so on cooked food. I've worked in fast food and we used a scooper to fill the fry orders. Can't believe I haven't put a review of this place up anytime recently because its such a hidden gem way out here in North Goleta :-) Anyhow, its Burger Week and my wife and I just got the 2 offerings from Home Plate as a some last minute take out. Wow, these are some seriously amazing burgers. The Spicy Cajun Burger topped with spicy sausage, grilled habaneros, red onions, lettuce, tomato, habanero jelly, special sauce, and Pepper Jack cheese. Its Spicy!! not for the faint of heart for sure but definitely delicious :-) Did I mention it's Spicy!! The other offering was the Wagyu Bacon Cheeseburger, cooked to perfection and a perfectly flavorful. Not as distinctive as the the Cajun but damn delicious just as well :-) If Home Plate can do these burgers this good for this week, they can definitely do it day to day. Was in the Goleta area for a family getaway and we got takeout for breakfast and dinner from Home Plate Grill. In both cases our order was ready on time and the staff was friendly. For breakfast we had pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, and biscuits and gravy. The pancakes were the star of the show as it tasted like that added a dash of cinnamon to them. For dinner one night we got their pizza. I was surprised because it was a really good NY style thin crust pizza. Little hidden spot/gem in Goleta, located behind the 7-11. I had been to the bar next door but never knew or tried this spot before. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and jalapeño poppers. The Alfredo came with a side of either a soup or salad so I got the Cesar salad. The Cesar salad dressing was very creamy and it had enough croutons for my liking. The fettuccine Alfredo was super yummy! The sauce was super creamy and velvety. The fettuccine was cooked perfectly and it came along with some garlic bread which was a nice touch! Lastly, the jalapeño poppers. The best for last! The poppers were super good! Only thing is I would've wished I ordered more. The jalapeños are wrapped around with bacon and have a yummy, spicy sauce inside. I would definitely recommend them. Overall I really enjoyed this spot. There's so much variety of food options here, it's hard to even choose. I enjoyed the vibes of this place as well, a chill and casual place. Initially, My husband and I were so excited to eat here because of the reviews! Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, a young woman immediately presented an environment of annoyance. Mind you, it's 8:02 when we walk in, and they close at 9pm. I asked if we seat ourselves, and she stared at me blankly. Oops. I guess I should have figured out we order at the front. As we seat ourselves and wait for our food, she proceeds to LOUDLY say, "This happens every time. Why do people come in so late and all at once!?" That immediately made me feel unwelcome. I regretted not getting our meal to go. Finally, when my husbands sandwich was ready, she very callously put the food on the table, again making faces of annoyance. I get that this young lady may have been having a bad day, but she is also representing a business. A business that a lot of local people seem to be fond of. I only ate half my sandwich so I could get out of there. Nothing worse then trying to enjoy a meal in a small place where you are watched and pressured into finishing up quickly. The place was so clean and we were greeted by a gentleman by the name of "Kenny" (we overheard other patrons, and we're sure he was probably the owner because he was so meticulous). He was SO pleasant, friendly and attentive. We had the Chili Rancheros Wrap, Pancakes and Tater Tots. Everything was served hot and was really delicious.
