Pretty cool setup here. They have a nice virtual step up and you get to pick which stadium you want to play out of. Balls shoot out towards you at a decent pace and they have plenty of bats for people to choose from. The menu looked good several of the drinks looked amazing. Service can be a bit slow especially when busy but it was fairly recent when I was there. The venue is huge. Looks like they have live music on certain nights and some nice outdoor spaces. I usually don't leave negative reviews, but I felt like I should share my recent experience at Home Run Doughout. My waitress, Bella, seemed very dismissive throughout my visit, which unfortunately made the service not the best. I completely understand that everyone can have off days, but when it comes to customer service, it's important to still treat paying customers with respect and attentiveness. I wasn't expecting over-the-top service, but I did hope to feel acknowledged and welcomed, and instead I left feeling brushed off. It came across as unprofessional and honestly a bit rude. On a positive note, another young lady came by and helped me out, and she was absolutely amazing! I didn't catch her name, but I really appreciate the kindness and attentiveness she showed--it made a big difference in my experience. I truly don't mean this in a harsh way, but more as constructive feedback because I do enjoy this restaurant and would love to continue coming back. I just hope in the future the service can reflect the same quality that the food and atmosphere provide. read more

When we attended the mystery night, I was quite disappointed with the service. We didn't have a waitress who paid any real attention to us. At the end of the night, they automatically added a 20% gratuity, which I didn't understand since there were only three of us, and we had already paid to attend this event. Perhaps you should have made that clearer upfront because it felt unfair given how poor our service was. The advertisement mentioned a \$25 meal, but when I asked the waitress about it, she seemed clueless and handed me the bar menu, saying they would be working off a small menu. After a few hours, I noticed other tables had the \$25 menu, but our waitress never came back to us. I constantly had to flag her down or go to the bar to order our drinks. When it was time to pay, someone else took our money--our waitress wasn't even involved. At one point, I saw her outside vaping and chatting with another waitress instead of attending to customers. Charging a 20% gratuity for such poor service felt really unreasonable. The mystery aspect of the event was chaotic, and we didn't really understand what was going on. This place is very unique. I don't think I've never been anywhere like this. They have perfect shareables, a place for kids to run around, play baseball and burn some energy. Oh and great drinks too. We didn't get to do the batting cages but they look fun. I had the drink called Purple Stuff and it was dangerous hahaha. I don't drink often and it went down pretty easy. Lol. I definitely would recommend y'all check it out. It's a fun experience. 10/10 read more

Cool gem in the Katy area. Like the top golf of baseball. Cocktails were decent. I didn't eat but my friends enjoyed the fries and wings (small portion though for the price). As far as the actual activity- if you're not good at swinging (me), I say still try it out! The games kept freezing and the staff tried their best to help us out. It flew through the OPEN bars that separate you (who thought of that...?) into my bay and smacked the top of my foot. The manager on duty had absolutely no clue what to do. He finally decided to call the GM whose best advice was to wheel me to my car in an office chair (since someone got hurt the night before and took their one wheel chair home) at this point there was no incident report made, they had taken none of my information and i was in great pain. After refusing the office chair the GM finally showed up 30 minutes later letting me know how much of a favor she was doing me by showing up since she was on her way home. An ambulance was finally called and i was taken to have my foot looked at. The manager said she'd comp our bill but guess what, nope we paid for it!! Did the problems stop there? No lol! I haven't heard one thing from the woman that's supposed to be handling my hospital bill. Next time it could be a child or someone less equipped to handle a metal bat. Home Run Dugout almost makes you feel like a baseball star...almost. Came here with a few buddies, since we loved the concept of a restaurant/beer garden with a baseball theme all around. If you are a baseball fan I definitely recommend giving this place at least a try. You walk in and there are greeted with an outdoor area that has a baseball field, live music (at least the Friday we were there), and some virtual baseball games. Overall, this place is beautiful. There are multiple options for beers on tap, cocktails, and they have descent food options. I ordered the Southwest Bowl, and paid extra to add chicken on it. This was accompanied with a cider. Overall, the bowl was fabulous, I would return to this place simply for the bowl! However, I give this place 3-stars because their VR baseball is a bunch of nonsense. You pay over 75 bucks, to pay a game that is incredibly over priced, and definitely not worth it. Come here for a bite, a drink, and some atmosphere, but make sure you avoid the VR nonsense that they try to sell upon you. read more

I was surprised that the Ginuwine and Sisqo concert recently was held here. The venue, I think, was too small for the concert. However, I must say that the lines were quite organized. Security was there to double check your items and a body scan. The bar was manned with bartenders - you just have to get in line - and since it was a concert, the line took quite long. As expected, the bathrooms were dirty - considering the amount of concert goers. We were on a standing room ticket so it was expected that we won't be as near by the stage. There was still food being seeved after the concert but it gave me eew feels because it has been out for ours and yet they still serve other for sale. Parking was hard because of the event. I reckon on a regular day, parking is better. read more

First off, the concept is really cool for a bar/restaurant space that also has a fun attraction. Each bay holds quite a few people and you are able to do batting practice and a few other games with their virtual baseball setup. It's an immersive experience and fun for a group. We also found out that you can pay $5 for essentially the "batting practice" option with 5 hits, which seems like a great option for anyone who just wants to hang out on their very nice patio and not commit to a full bay. Dog friendly and the perfect place for kids given that there's an entire green space set up for playing dodgeball or little league. Definitely a fun spot to watch an Astros game on a nice day. The only major downside for me is the food and drinks. Incredibly expensive and I didn't find any of the options to be worth the price or very tasty. It's like they wanted to be too fancy or something. For example, my friend got a hot dog (which was $9!) and it came loaded with a super spicy sauce. She didn't love it, but probably would have really enjoyed a basic, simple hot dog. I ordered the Buffalo chicken dip which was too heavy on the bread crumbs. For the price of everything, you would think the food would be amazing but it really does feel like they attempted to put a gourmet twist on classic menu items and failed miserably. Me being a social drinker/eater, this is a huge let down because I probably wouldn't go back just for the baseball alone. For the amount of money I spent on food/drinks (not including the bay) I would prefer to go to a more upscale spot with actually decent food or an Astros game ‍ I think they need to revise their food & drink menus. Had a few kinks to work out but it's a new spot so I expected this....they didn't have wings (what I wanted cuz they looked dope from pics) so I got the hot dog....dinger dog or dugout dog I think...very hearty. They have the homemade style chips & the fries were good. My boss's 1/2 chicken looked legit...another colleague got a regular hot dog & it was like the ball park style but with one of those fancy buns...not the classic hot dog bun & they served with packet relish / condiments which is like a ball park experience but I figured a restaurant would have that elevated a bit... This is an incredibly fun venue for family and friends to gather. Doesn't matter if you can play, this is more like a video game version. Each group has their designated area behind their batting venue. Food and beverages are delivered to you but they are not the star of the show. The entire concept : great idea. Execution : not so much. Although this place is really cool, it seems like most workers aren't thrilled to be there. Service was subpar. A female food runner came to our section & dropped off pretzels in front of me but I told her I didn't order them. Instead of walking around the group asking who ordered pretzels, she just stood there. So I got up, walked around our party, & found the person who ordered it. Turned back to show her "see, that's how it's done" & she was already headed back to the kitchen. (Couldn't care less) Secondly, we had a large group but spent half the time waiting for the screen to load. Balls kept getting jammed, it was "pitching" the ball & counting it against us but the ball wouldn't come out. We got comped another 15 minutes but I felt like we wasted more time waiting for the screen to load. Overall, slightly disappointed in the whole baseball simulator & service. I understand that technology will have its flaws but I'm still amazed that I had to do the food runners job. Company culture is everything. read more

We visited here on a Monday after trying to come during the weekend and learning they were fully booked. The food is decent and will fetch you through your batting times. I wish it were more clear how to get a less visible cage -we were batting in the open indoor space but would have loved more intimacy if possible. There's a nice sized field for kids to run excess energy off. On good weather days this may just be a good place to sit outside and watch baseball on the screens they have. read more

Sarah (in the bar), Donna and Nelson were are all fantastic. This was our first time here and we had SO MUCH FUN! The beer list on tap was about 10 and they had a bunch of beer in cans. I got a XX Michelada, my bf got Jack and Coke and our friends got a couple other drinks. We got the buffalo dip and pretzels to start us off and they were both DELICIOUS! (Buffalo Dip was my fave) The bays were you play are super cool, I think you can have up to 12 people per bay and there's different games you can play PLUS you can pick your stadium to play at! (Go 'Stros) We will definitely be back, we had so much fun! We absolutely loved it here! I'm editing this because after we finished at our bay we went back to the bar for a couple drink and ALL of the guys behind the bar were so nice and friendly. We spoke to the manager Chris and he was literally the coolest dude too. I KNOW this place is going to thrive! Keep up the GREAT work! For this area everything is pretty normal priced and for the amount of fun we had I would definitely recommend going here! I suggest bringing friends and splitting the cost to play that way you're not complaining about the cost later. This place has absolutely no respect for its neighbors in the residential areas. They play loud music that travels for miles (I live over two miles away and can hear it all). It might have been okay on a weekend, but they consistently host events like this on weekdays. Even now, it's 11 on a Thursday and they are being very disruptive. I have work, my kids have school, and no one can sleep because of this inconsiderate business. I will never go here and will never recommend it to any of my friends. TURN YOUR MUSIC DOWN! read more

This is a great spot! We had people who played professional baseball and people who had practically never held a bat before in our group, and everyone had fun. The food was also delicious (and even vegetarian friendly!) and waitstaff delightful. The live band that was playing while we were there was the icing on the cake. Can't wait to come back! read more
