Wilmer and his team are incredible…read more The team was detail oriented, incredible communicators, proactive and thoughtful, and cared for our home as if it was their own. For context, they painted the interior or of our entire home - walls, trim, and ceiling. The team knew how to work with high end paint and transformed a set of drab, beige, poorly textured, and banged up walls. They sanded the walls to manage the texture, worked expertly with tricky corners, managed complex work with dry wall to address dings and structural oddities. They are not just incredible painters - they are also amazing project managers and partners. The team managed our paint job while we traveled, but our furniture and floors were kept pristine (despite our 0% prep for them). When they ran out of paint (because I insisted on getting it and didn't get enough!), they reached out. When I didn't get back to them soon enough, they went to the store and perfectly matched the color, no VOC, and other specifications. Wilmer is warm, personable, proactive, and an excellent person to have on your team as a part of the work to transform your space! His team is also wonderful, expert, and easy to be around (I know, because i hired them for a second job and this time didn't leave town). Feel free to reach out to me with questions. I can give Eric 0 stars, I would. Where do I start? I agree with the other reviewer about his…read moreconsistent lack of time management. Come whenever he pleases and never the agreed on time. Has tons of excuses to being late or not coming at all. I have used Eric for different jobs around the house. Initially, because of my lack of experience with house maintenance, I thought the work was sufficient. But later is when I found out how poorly he completed the work. Some of the work was so simple: Paint my ceiling: didn't even do painting 101 and put tape to separate the ceiling from the wall. Result - bleeding of paint to other walls and uneven lines. Looks so messy and even missed a spot. Came back out to paint that missing area but I am sure he wouldn't have come back out if I didn't give him other work. Caulking in bathrooms: didn't even take out the old caulk. Result - new caulk is coming out. Caulk around toilet is so bad so toilet is shifting. His poor caulking also resulted in leaks which I had to call plumber. The plumber said that caulking work was so poor. Worst experience of all - foyer flooring. I had Eric remove tiles and install vinyl in the front foyer. 1st. Eric told me he would do that work for one price. He started the work by removing all the tiles on a Friday. Left it like that for the weekend. He never told me that it wasn't going to be done on 1 day. Area was so small that I didn't expect it to go multiple days. And then next week he sent a long text and demanded more money. I was so mad but just wanted the job done. Mind you he sent this text after being hours late. He took that entire day and did such a bad job that I hate looking at that area now. He cut the vinyls unevenly that some areas have visibly noticeable gaps, didn't put the baseboard back, didn't put quarter around back, caulking was bad, and left holes in the wall. Please please don't use this company. He asks for 90% of money up front. Reasoning - gas and it goes to company. I am looking at how to report this company to bbb.

I recently hired Mitchell-Rollerson Construction LLC to install a new ceiling and will NEVER use…read morethem again. First, there were issues with billing. Eric wanted about 3/4 of the cost up front as a down payment, which I later came to find out was more than the legal maximum a contractor can ask for in the state of Maryland (which is 33%). Additionally, Eric wanted the rest of the payment before the job was done. Finally, Eric wanted the checks made out to himself instead of the business and asked if cash was possible. I find this type of billing suspicious. Second, I found the quality of the work to be unacceptable. This was not a complicated job--all that was required was to take down and dispose of some moldings, take the light fixture down, put drywall over the existing wood ceiling, paint, and reinstall the light fixture to be flush with the new ceiling. Eric estimated that this job would take 2 days. At the end of the 3rd day the job still wasn't done, but Eric said it was finished. Eric waited till the end to tell me that the light fixture couldn't be made flush with the ceiling. What he did instead was cut a bigger hole and try to use drywall compound to embed the light fixture in the ceiling. The light was embedded unevenly, the area around it wasn't sanded nor painted, and Eric didn't clean the drywall compound off the light fixture. After a quick Google search, I found that Eric was incorrect about it not being possible to make the light fixture flush with the ceiling; all that was needed was a $2 raised round cover. Additionally, there was another portion of the ceiling that needed another coat of paint, and Eric put the moldings outside behind some stairs instead of disposing of them. Finally, Eric was anything but punctual, which affected his ability to get the job done timely. He said he would show up at 9:00am each day and that the job would take 2 days. The job took 3, at which point the contractor said the job was completed even though it wasn't. He showed up at 12:30pm on the first day, 11:30am on the second day, and 10:30am on the third day. Each time he had a list of excuses of why he was late. Also, without measuring, Eric said that he believed it would take 4 pieces of drywall but would bring 5 in case. Then he only brought 4, and it turned out he needed 5 putting him behind schedule at the end of the first day. I ended up fixing this myself. Because this was done incorrectly to begin with, fixing this involved removing the light fixture, cutting out part of the ceiling since the hole for the light fixture was too big, installing the raised round cover, installing new drywall, paint, and reinstalling the light fixture. I also needed to replace the light fixture because after removing it I found that the contractor had scratched it up with his putty knife and bent it to make it look like it was coming straight down from the ceiling (as a result of unevenly embedding it in the ceiling to begin with). In addition, I asked Eric what paint he used and he mentioned two different paints, neither of which matched the shade of white and sheen that he actually used. This resulted in me also having to repaint the entire ceiling. I sent Eric the bill for the materials I needed, a new light fixture, and my time. He has not agreed to reimburse me for any of it.
