best hotel experience hands down, staff friendy, rooms clean and close to everything downtown!!

I'm on the road 200+ days a year and nearly all at Hilton properties. Like this place a lot-usual size suites but well maintained. Ashwin at the front desk is great and helpful. Breakfast could be a little more varied (I'm staying for two weeks so a lot of repeats for me--maybe not for 2-3 night guests). Comfortable lobby and easy parking. A little advice for the reasonable adults on the thread: Don't be a little b**** like Sol. She's obvi butthurt. This is very worth the price and the stay was quite enjoyable. read more

This was a nightmare, first of all I wasn't staying here by choice. It was what my insurance company had given us after our house burned down, but if you want to have your privacy, violated with sneaky gossipy staff, and be lied to by the management this is the place you should go to. when I walked in the very first day a man who was very slow at his job I might say he was very flustered all the time about all the things he had to do . he made me sit down and wait when Nobody was in the lobby so he can get ready for us to come in. He pulled out of paper for a pet deposit. We had to bring our animals because of the house fire. it should be called a pet fee because later on when I try to get my deposit back they said it was nonrefundable so their deposit isn't a deposit. It's a fee just so you know, but we've been there for about a month and some of our towels got stained. our dog had an accident and we rather just leave it there on the floor. We picked it up with the towel. instead of calling us and talking to us about it. The staff called our insurance company behind our back and told them about it. We found out through insurance that they had a problem with it that they needed to inspect our room immediately the very next day. When I was at the desk talking to then about it. They started to say per policy that they could look at the room once a week or "clean" the room once a week, I should say. I asked them to provide me with these policies many times they could not produce them. I came downstairs to talk to the young woman manager "April Abutin"later she then said that it was a mandatory cleaning every two days and then changed it to every day and then by the end of the conversation it was every week again , like at the beginning. they also put these little papers on the door saying they have to come into the rooms to do mandatory maintenance, blah blah blah they have to get on the phone and hit some numbers. well just so you know that's all lies. They do that just so they can nose in your room. This place sucks they lie to you, then gossip about you. I did not feel welcome there. It was terrible. it should be more like Prison 2 thats pet tolerant, not pet friendly so watch out for the April, girl who brings her kid into work every day because she can't afford childcare . She will lie to you at the drop of the hat to protect her own interest and her employees. and the sneaky man that will call your insurance company behind your back and then raise his voice at you when you ask him about it. Also they're lobby printer doesn't work. And the parking lot has issues as well. read more

I didn't get the chance to explore the hotel at all, as we arrived at 9pm and set off at 5 in the morning, but the rooms were perfectly adequate. Our suite had a kitchenette with a small fridge (much better than a mini fridge), dishes, dishwasher, and supplies. The living room had a food-out bed in the couch, which is where our teenage son slept. We had the king bed. Both rooms had TVs. The bathroom had two doors, so could be entered from the kitchen or bedroom. The bathroom had nice counter space but could be awkward to navigate because of the swinging doors. The toilet was very close to the shower and a door, which could be an accessibility issue for some. The shower had large pump units of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The hotel close to the freeway but far enough away that the road noise wasn't bad. Voices did carry from the hallway and footsteps could be heard above, but overall it wasn't a loud place. Really, this was a decent hotel, and we agreed that we would stay here again on an inevitable road trip though Missouri. read more

I stayed here with family this past weekend and overall had a good experience. We arrived in the middle of the night after a very long day of travel. There was one person ahead of us checking in, but they had a ton of issues trying to check in. Issues on both sides including a computer that kept freezing according to the person at the front desk and something about a 3rd party site. Personally, I as a guest would've stepped to the side to allow the person behind me who had their confirmation number ready and screaming twin infants go ahead and check in while they sorted out the issues, but this didn't happen. And while we were greeted by the person at the front desk and waited nicely, we tried to express concern about the babies crying and needing sleep only to be met with a dismissive comment. It took about a half hour to check in and we probably woke the entire hotel with the screaming but there was nothing we could do about it until we got in our room and got them to bed. I had also called two days prior to check in to make sure there would be cribs available. I was told that they had 2 in total and couldn't guarantee they would be available but that there were at least 2 in the hotel. (Side note: I would normally call a lot farther in advance for a request but this was short notice as it was for a funeral). The person at the front desk gave us one but said the other had broken and was thrown away. I'm not sure why that wasn't communicated when I called or updated before we arrived. The person at the front desk did eventually apologize profusely for all of the inconvenience and for our loss. They seemed very flustered with the computer issues and I don't think what happened was completely their fault but it did add a lot of stress to an already stressful situation. The room was large and very nice. It felt very clean and they had the softest sheets I've ever slept in in a hotel with a nice mattress. The small kitchen was great for our needs, especially when travelling with babies. We never had issues with noise (probably because we were the problem) and we were always able to find parking. The lobby was clean and modern. The breakfast was decent for a hotel breakfast. I don't think I would stay here again after that check in process. I've stayed at other hotels in the area that I would recommend and stay at instead. read more

This is a pet friendly hotel and while I didn't take the pup on this trip, the person checking in in front of me did and had to fill out a lot of paperwork. After 8 PM, I think checking guests in should be a priority, especially if there is only one person working. Home2 would be a great place for families and they are always nice and clean. This one was quiet. I just hated to have to wait to check in, hence the three star reviews. Breakfast was just too packed with guests to grab anything beyond a banana. The bathroom door was large enough to be a handicap accessible BUT it was put in such an awkward place there was no way to get into the bathroom, shut the door and access the shower. It was awkward for me. Just a weird design. I would stay here again because there's really nothing between KC and Des Moines. It's just low frills. read more

Nice and clean. I love Home 2 hotels. I gave this one 3 stars because breakfast ends at 9, most of them end at 10. The charges don't work on the workout equipment. What really did it for me was how slimy the water is!!! They have put way too much softener in their water system. To where you don't know if you're getting the soap off. The water actually made me itchy. So for that I won't stay here again. read more

Today...disappointed and dissatisfied...made a reservation a while back at one rate...made another reservation a few weeks ago for my parents...asked for a price concession and for the second room to be priced at the lower rate. Manager said no. My family has stayed here many many times over the last 3 years while my daughter was in college...disappointed. Not to mention I have 6 rooms reserved here in the middle of May for graduation. Thought the manager might give a little grace. Loyal customer disappointed and dissatisfied. read more

My family and I arrived around 11pm so we were exhausted and ready to sleep. Check in was easy and the front desk lady was very nice and welcoming. A Chiefs game was going on that day so it was busy and had a lot of people coming home from the game. The room was roomie and the bed was comfy. We love staying at Home2 Suites because of their small but full kitchen. The area was well lit and we felt very safe. I also loved that the hotel was just down the road from lots of stores to shop at and restaurants to eat. Very nice and convenient location right off the freeway. The only con is probably breakfast. I wish it had better options but that's just a personal preference. read more

Stopped for the night while passing through. Hotel was nice. Never been to a place that has a curtain to decide the room. Good idea, allows you to separate the bed area and couch/tv area. Also, allows to have another person on the pull out and have some privacy. Breakfast is ok, about 5-10 choices of things to eat. read more

I tested positive for covid-19. I tried to reschedule my reservation. They refused. They charged me for the entire stay regardless of the reason. I have to make business trips to the area frequently. I won't even consider this hotel in Liberty MO or anywhere else after this experience. read more

The hotel is in a great location. The outdoor fireplace area is fantastic! That's about all the good I can say. Breakfast was terrible and poorly stocked. ABC channel is only in Spanish per John at the front desk - "that is what corporate gave them". The worst was being charged $272.13 for a stain on the sofa bed mattress. We didn't even use the sofa bed and the cushion did not have a stain so it didn't come from sitting on the sofa. We only had one pale beer in the room. The stain is a dark brown, huge stain and a light brown stain at the bottom of the mattress. Impossible for someone to put those stains on the mattress from sitting on the sofa. Management - Jay and John - refuses to refund the charge. So check the room thoroughly and take pictures if you stay there. We are completely flabbergasted as never had the happen in many years of travel. read more

The hotel is nice and clean. Breakfast was meh. I did like the small kitchenette in our room! That was super nice! My issues were more with the staff. When we called to make our reservation it was a disaster. We came to town for a baseball tournament and wanted to book several rooms. They put all of our rooms under one person and it was so hard to get them separated! I still don't understand what the issue was!? When we arrived there were 2 people sitting at computers and a line of people. Only one of them was actually checking people in and the other lady was just sitting there playing on her computer. It was super frustrating. Felt like we were really burdening them. read more

While the physical property is nice enough, the customer service from the front desk staff to the manager is apathetic, lackadaisical, and passive-aggressive. They're not here to serve you, they're here to school you. There are plenty of other good choices in the area, both Hilton properties and non-Hilton properties. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else, you'll be treated better. read more

We had reserved a room until Friday 3/10/2023 and we were told everything "was taken care of". But when the card was run, it did not go through. We were not informed of this problem, so we could not fix it. Now they inform us at 11 am that the have given the room away. My husband and I are 70 years old and disabled and we do not have a place to stay . We have bee asked to leave and it is THEIR FAULT. read more

We stayed for one night. When we arrived the smell of sewer gas was strong in the side parking lot. We tried to use the app to check in but that was not working correctly so we checked in and proceeded to go to our room. Before we unpacked however one of us used the bathroom and while sitting they noticed the toilet rocked a little and when flushing the sewage leaked all over the floor from the underneath of the toilet. We quickly headed to the fron and told them the bathroom flooded in there and they switched us to the one right next to it. (First floor rooms) we walked into that one and that sewer gas smell was so strong we walked out and requested another room. They gave us one on the third floor. That one has a couple of issues... the toilet once again was unseated and it rocked but this one did not leak. The bathroom sliding glass door for the shower was not level and the doors would not stay shut to shower so the shower sprayed right out of the shower as the doors constantly slid open. #319 was the room. The a/c worked well and the beds were comfortable. The art is strange but we just ignored it. The breakfast was good. The app is a joke. Sometimes it worked sometimes it did not. Also, you have to go and get everything you need yourself from then service desk they do not bring it to you. We requested two pillows and had to go get them. It just seemed not very well made or run and it is relatively new in this area. The toilets... gracious... whoever installed them did a very poor job. I have never had moving toilets in hotel bathrooms. The decor is nice but does not make up for the underlying shoddy construction. We will not be staying in this hotel on our future visits. read more
