Ahem. Ok, we went there because it's supposed to be a 'neighborhood secret'. Well, let the neighborhood keep its secret, secret. All well, but I am not a fan. Try it. Get a sense of it. It's ok.

Good! We had a great brunch here! Nothing extraordinary though. I don't like how they warm up there tortillas. Also pretty pricey for what it is. I'd be back but nothing I would ever crave. Service was nice and the outdoor seating was also really nice!

Tacos are massive, I order the Guadalupe tacos this is my morning go to tacos. It's chorizo (there is also soyrizo as a vegetarian option) with eggs soo tasty! I get always get my tacos with flour; they make their own tortillas which makes it that much better. I have also ordered the potato tacos are delicious the jalapeños are spicy so if you don't like spice don't get it or ask to remove the jalapeño's. My coworker likes the brisket - this is her go to I have yet to try it. Also their limeade is bomb. They also sell their flour tortillas

Came here to redeem a coupon good for 2 free tacos and an iced tea or coffee. I arrived 10 minutes from closing, so i wasn't expecting the freshest 2 tacos and after eating the Trinity taco, sad to say but I wasn't wrong, lol. The cheese wasn't melted and the potatoes tasted like they've been under a heat lamp for too long. All-in-all the, I'm hoping that the brisket taco will be the better tasting of the two.

I am so glad I checked out this restaurant last weekend. This is definitely a must visit for all the Taco lovers. I have had some of the best tacos here at an affordable price. My favourites are the Jijuana Panther and the Brisket, the meat is very flavourful and easy to eat. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

4+ A small chain that has a few locations in Los Angeles as of August/2024 that specializes in Texas style tacos (and breakfast tacos), which means there are definitely Texas style flavors and themes on a lot of the food items. The person helping me was very, very friendly and even offered the dog I was with a dog treat. It's a very chill location with seating on the inside of outside. I was in the neighborhood and stopped by for breakfast. I ordered the don't mess with Texas and the Trinity breakfast tacos along with the cookie milk iced coffee. Both tacos had delicious flavors and textures and a great soft and chewy flour tortilla on each. The iced coffee was definitely an interesting flavor and I really enjoyed it. All in all just great place to go for a casual breakfast, whether by yourself or in small groups. The parking looks like it would be pretty tricky in this area with the businesses and all the apartment complexes. I was able to find parking three blocks away.

I visited this place for breakfast tacos since they offer soyrizo options. I got the Guadalupe breakfast tacos for $5 each, crispy potatoes for $5, and an orange juice. Every time I come here, the staff is always friendly, there's plenty of seating both inside and outside, and the atmosphere is relaxed. The food arrives quickly, and they serve it right to your table. The prices are fair for the quality you receive, and I will certainly return when I have a craving for breakfast tacos.

How have I never reviewed Homestate before?!?!? I've been going pretty much since they opened and they remain one of my favorite spots in LA. They must treat their employees well because I have never once received bad service at any location I've gone to (and I've been to most locations), the food is delicious both in flavor and quality, lately they've not been as veggie friendly as they used to be IMO (I'm a vegetarian), but they do have constant vegetarian options on the menu and in fact my regular - the Chicano Batman taco - is a vegan taco (although I usually de-vegan-ize it because Homestate's Queso is amazing). The restaurants are all relaxed and friendly and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN which we love so it's a great place to hang with friends & family. The one legit bummer is they opened a Homestate "stand" (instead of a full restaurant like all of the other locations) in the West Adams area during the pandemic and it didn't survive which I think it might have if it had been a full restaurant (there's another restaurant down the street absolutely killing it). I remain highly disappointed that they never tried to open a full location in this area and I really hope they try to do so in the near future.

We've been long time customers and unfortunately the quality seems to be slightly declining. The past few times we've ordered, something's been incorrect and the eggs/meats are slightly drier than they used to be. Will give another shot but am bummed at the declining quality.

I came here for dinner on a week night and my experience here was pretty good. I had the asada and al pastor tacos with all the toppings and they were both so good and full of meat and heat. I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. You can tell that it's house made and I liked the chewy texture of it. However, respectfully the filling felt and tasted like bean goo. I could only really taste the refried bean flavor which was strong. It kind of meshed all the components together into a gooey filling. I got this with asada meat and the meat was kind of chewy and not so flavorful on its own. Props to the tortilla though for not spilling everything out and holding it together well, but still a bit difficult to eat. I would ask for utensils when eating this dish. The green onion garnish was unique. I wish they gave more lime wedges because that helped elevate the dish. For $13 this wasn't too bad, but I'd rather get a better burrito from a street vendor. This is a casual eats type of place with both indoor and outdoor seating and tables. They also serve alcohol and even frozen alcoholic drinks.
