Ahem. Ok, we went there because it's supposed to be a 'neighborhood secret'. Well, let the neighborhood keep its secret, secret. All well, but I am not a fan. Try it. Get a sense of it. It's ok.

Good! We had a great brunch here! Nothing extraordinary though. I don't like how they warm up there tortillas. Also pretty pricey for what it is. I'd be back but nothing I would ever crave. Service was nice and the outdoor seating was also really nice!

Tacos are massive, I order the Guadalupe tacos this is my morning go to tacos. It's chorizo (there is also soyrizo as a vegetarian option) with eggs soo tasty! I get always get my tacos with flour; they make their own tortillas which makes it that much better. I have also ordered the potato tacos are delicious the jalapeños are spicy so if you don't like spice don't get it or ask to remove the jalapeño's. My coworker likes the brisket - this is her go to I have yet to try it. Also their limeade is bomb. They also sell their flour tortillas

I am so glad I checked out this restaurant last weekend. This is definitely a must visit for all the Taco lovers. I have had some of the best tacos here at an affordable price. My favourites are the Jijuana Panther and the Brisket, the meat is very flavourful and easy to eat. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

Came here to redeem a coupon good for 2 free tacos and an iced tea or coffee. I arrived 10 minutes from closing, so i wasn't expecting the freshest 2 tacos and after eating the Trinity taco, sad to say but I wasn't wrong, lol. The cheese wasn't melted and the potatoes tasted like they've been under a heat lamp for too long. All-in-all the, I'm hoping that the brisket taco will be the better tasting of the two.

4+ A small chain that has a few locations in Los Angeles as of August/2024 that specializes in Texas style tacos (and breakfast tacos), which means there are definitely Texas style flavors and themes on a lot of the food items. The person helping me was very, very friendly and even offered the dog I was with a dog treat. It's a very chill location with seating on the inside of outside. I was in the neighborhood and stopped by for breakfast. I ordered the don't mess with Texas and the Trinity breakfast tacos along with the cookie milk iced coffee. Both tacos had delicious flavors and textures and a great soft and chewy flour tortilla on each. The iced coffee was definitely an interesting flavor and I really enjoyed it. All in all just great place to go for a casual breakfast, whether by yourself or in small groups. The parking looks like it would be pretty tricky in this area with the businesses and all the apartment complexes. I was able to find parking three blocks away.

I visited this place for breakfast tacos since they offer soyrizo options. I got the Guadalupe breakfast tacos for $5 each, crispy potatoes for $5, and an orange juice. Every time I come here, the staff is always friendly, there's plenty of seating both inside and outside, and the atmosphere is relaxed. The food arrives quickly, and they serve it right to your table. The prices are fair for the quality you receive, and I will certainly return when I have a craving for breakfast tacos.

How have I never reviewed Homestate before?!?!? I've been going pretty much since they opened and they remain one of my favorite spots in LA. They must treat their employees well because I have never once received bad service at any location I've gone to (and I've been to most locations), the food is delicious both in flavor and quality, lately they've not been as veggie friendly as they used to be IMO (I'm a vegetarian), but they do have constant vegetarian options on the menu and in fact my regular - the Chicano Batman taco - is a vegan taco (although I usually de-vegan-ize it because Homestate's Queso is amazing). The restaurants are all relaxed and friendly and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN which we love so it's a great place to hang with friends & family. The one legit bummer is they opened a Homestate "stand" (instead of a full restaurant like all of the other locations) in the West Adams area during the pandemic and it didn't survive which I think it might have if it had been a full restaurant (there's another restaurant down the street absolutely killing it). I remain highly disappointed that they never tried to open a full location in this area and I really hope they try to do so in the near future.

The menu is quite simple, but beware that no prices are listed on the main menu, but they are on the paper menus. They accept Apple Pay/credit cards. I ordered the asada burrito and the pollo caramelo and added the grilled poblano (as recommended on Yelp!). The tortillas were the true stars -- soft, nice chew, with a buttery mouth feel (probably lard). The fillings were just ok. The inside reminded me of a Taco Bell 7 layer burrito -- a lot going on but all the flavors kinda blend together. I (incorrectly) thought the beans were refried, but they are not. Whatever is going on inside, I didn't find much structure. The burrito was the best. The caramelo was a lazily folded burrito. I read that it was like a quesadilla, but I couldn't disagree more. I would skip this next time. I spent $25 and it was a lot of food, but I wasn't impressed, especially given the hype and the fact that LA should really be the pinnacle of Mexican food. Not sure if I'll make a second trip here.

I came here for dinner on a week night and my experience here was pretty good. I had the asada and al pastor tacos with all the toppings and they were both so good and full of meat and heat. The toppings can be spicy for some, so be warned. My favorite of the two was the all pastor which was flavorful and I did like the thinly shaved meat. It was not dry at all and was fresh. I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

We found easy street parking in the neighborhood on 41st Street, and waited in line for about 15-20 minutes. We ordered the asada tacos. They pre-sauce your tacos, which was fine by me, but my boyfriend who can't handle as much spice would've preferred it on the side (so warning for anyone similar! they do put a little habanero on them, so just ask them for salsa on the side). I think I ran into a problem of reading too many raving reviews -- these tacos were good but I was expecting them to be mind blowing, so I was a little disappointed. I tasted the charcoal char, but kind of wished the taste was more pronounced, or at least the meat more seasoned. The hand made tortillas were definitely the coolest part, but I thought they were a little dry too. The ladies whipping those out are artists though. Actually, all the workers here have the assembly line down to the tea, and they definitely add a little flare for a show. I particularly liked how they had a lot of seating at this location, instead of just a couple stools lying around like most taco trucks. It felt more like outdoor patio seating than a normal taco stand. They could probably take more time to wipe down tables more often though. Overall would visit again if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way for the tacos here.

Ambience is very casual and it's a stand while eating type of situation. Service was quick.

Came here late one night driving back from an event since I've only heard good things…read more I got 2 tacos (asada and cabeza, 1 pollo quesadilla, a bean and cheese burrito and small bag of chips and guac. Everything came out to about $26 which is super reasonable! Service on a later end of the night was great! Super friendly and quick service. No indoor dining was available since they were closing in 15 mins. Food was ready in less than 10 mins. Salsa is free which both were delicious and had great flavor. Overall the food was delicious! It hit the spot. Filled with meat and the tortillas were a hit on their own. I would definitely go back again and try the other items that they had to offer.

Driving by I always see a line and read an article recently that Sonoratown is officially…read morerecognized in the California Michelin Guide - makes sense! I like that they were open late to satisfy a late night taco craving. Even though there is typically a line they are quite efficient with orders and even have a parking lot/outdoor dining space in addition to their indoor space so it doesn't feel cramped. It was my first visit so I had to get a mix of their tacos and burritos with the various meats they serve. It was a nice fact to know their tortillas have some lard also so it adds a nice flavor as well. + Burrito 2.0 (asada) + Chivichanga (chicken and beef) + Tacos (chorizo, tripe, cabeza, asada) I enjoyed the burrito with asada and thought it was good portion size for the cost. The guac, cheese, and beans pair well with the meat and has a nice grill on the tortilla. The tacos were a solid size as well but I was surprised to find the tripe as my favorite because they fry it and it adds a nice crunch/texture change. The cabeza was a close second with the stewed flavors. The chivichangas were also tasty but not the traditional chimichanga I was anticipating. It's definitely on the softer side as everything mixes together and there's not much of a texture change. Worth trying if you are curious though. I ordered to go so I didn't see if they have a salsa bar but I did have to pay $.10 per to go container which would be nice if they were free. However, I liked mixing their red and green salsa with each bite. I am curious to try their avocado salsa next time. Overall, I thought the portion sizes were good for the prices and I felt full afterwards.
