This is our go-to place if we want a good meal at an affordable price. The servers here are excellent and always friendly. It has a "home town cafe" kind of feel inside with lot of booths for families of 4, and then tables for bigger parties. The food is always good...great omelets and other breakfast items. They also have a good lunch menu. Portions are always more than enough.

Woweeee - I was not expecting the large portions or the great brunch from this unassuming diner. We were seated right away on a Sunday at noon. Service was fast and friendly. My coffee was never cold or empty and he food was excellent! Prices are good too. A solid 5 stars!

10/10! This was the best breakfast I've had in a very long time. Drove all the way from damonte ranch (south Reno) to try this place and it was very worth the drive. Our server was fast and very kind with our menu accommodations! Great prices and super cute on the inside!! Eat everything on my plate will be back again very soon

Just stopped in to get some food to go. It is 20 minutes before closing time so I just called an order in and picked it up. It was ready in like five minutes. Fairly friendly people, I love the phrase here. So yeah can't say much more lol

Burnt toast. I could taste it. Gross.

We've been eating at Hometown for decades, I remember when it was Curt & Al's (the best!). But we won't be spending money there anymore. The last few times we ate there have been borderline, we learned not to get the chocolate chip pancakes because they're so unbelievably sweet, it's nauseating. I can't imagine feeding those to a child. But today we were done. I ordered a sausage mushroom omelet. It actually had slices of cheese on top (see picture). Anyone who knows how to cook well knows you don't use sliced cheese on top of food. You use slices for sandwiches. The inside was so overloaded with mozzarella that after a few minutes the omelet had cooled enough that it became a rubbery mess. Think cold mozzarella sticks. Yuck. The sausage was just cut up links. Not so bad, I guess, except these are rookie cooking mistakes. A chef worth their salt (and training) would never serve an omelet with sliced cheese and cut up links. I'm just sayin'. My home fries were paper thin. Who cuts potatoes that thin? You could excuse it if they were crispy. They weren't. They were half soggy and half burnt, as was my toast. Hubby got the California omelet and he wasn't happy with his either, same cheap sliced cheese. He got a side of fruit and the sliced bananas were black on one side, too ripe. As you're cutting up food to serve, a chef should keep an eye on what they're working with, and if the fruit is overripe, you don't serve it, you toss it, or save it for something like banana bread. You could argue that perhaps the overripe bananas weren't noticed but they were put into the container with the black side down, so it wasn't easily noticed. That tells me it was done on purpose. And it also tells me the cook doesn't actually care what they serve. The rest of the fruit bowl was gross, fruit was all overripe and inedible. It wound up in the trash. The place was busy when we picked up the order, which blows me away. People are happy with this junk? No thanks. From now on we'll stick with Pegs. Goodbye Hometown. We've loved you for a long time. But all good things must come to an end.

Just like home cooking. The service is fast and friendly. The food comes in large portions and the place is never empty. Good service from start to end!

Crisp bacon! Harder to get in a restaurant than one might think!

They still always get my bacon and eggs prepped as ordered and I still love the French Dip! Today I finally tried something new here--the Eggs Benedict! Egg cooked perfectly, very tasty ham, OK Hollandaise with top notch hash browns! As usual staff was helpful and friendly, even when very busy like today.

Our server checked on us the right amount and our food came out quickly. We ordered the Giant Hamburger and the BLT. The burger was thick, juicy, and piled high with classic toppings, messy in the best way and full of flavor. The BLT was generously stacked with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and tomato on toasted bread, simple and satisfying. The only downsides were the fries and my drink. The fries were overcooked, dry, and a bit too tough. I ordered a vodka soda, and it tasted more like soda with a splash of vodka. Overall, it was a good experience and we would return.

We came in for Saturday Brunch around 10am, early, I know, however we were greeted and given a table right away. The restaurant wasn't busy for a Saturday, we did receive really attentive and thoughtful service from our server, Kylie. While they still had their Holiday drink specials menu, the server did confirm they have 2 for 1 mimosas and $6 bloody marys. The special was a Prime Rib breakfast burrito which both of the people I came in with ordered while I ordered the breakfast BLT. The Prime Rib burrito was so tender and juicy with a fried egg in the middle, definitely a special item for sure. I had the BLT on an everything bagel with a side of fruit and it hit the spot of a lighter, less hearty breakfast. For good service and cheap drinks, I will definitely be back!

The Onion Rings were tempura style fresh made in house...no frozen bag crap here. For my husband they were a hair on the doughy side but they weren't greasy at all which a totally appreciate. The Garlic bread was tasty having a hard Toasted cheese top with the gooey cheese underneath and the flavor was spot on. I'm a dark beer drinker so I went for the MOOSE DROOL if you had to many the moose wouldn't be the only thing drooling . You can't go to a tavern and not try one of the drafts...that would just be wrong. Hubby had the Prime Rib sandwich thought it was tasty with the chimiruri sauce and provolone cheese. It was our 1st time eating there however it had been on our list for some time. We started with the PULL-APART GARLIC CHEESE BREAD which is Focaccia, mozzarella, marinara, parmesan, frico crust and also ordered the WOOD FIRED OCTOPUS with crispy gnocchi, tomatoes, red onion, basil, arugula and topped with a Calabrian chili aioli. Both were fantastic, seasoned nicely and cooked to a perfect temperature!! For our entree we hate the BEE STING pizza. Make with a 72 Hour Fermented Organic Dough topped with Salami, red onion, basil, serranos, mozzarella and honey. The crust was delicious, crunchy, thin and when combined with the sauce, seasoning and toppings, an excellent pizza. Additionally we ordered two of the in-house, housemaid pasta. The ARRABBIATA , a roasted red pepper campanelle, with Calabrese sausage, garlic, chilis, broccolini and topped with Parmesan, pecorino. The other pasta we tried was the BLACK SPAGHETTI, mixed with clams, scallops, shrimp, hot chopped peppers, white wine, butter and lemon. It was fantastic!! Cooked al dente and packed with flavor. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. The service was great, food was yummy and we definitely look forward to going back again soon!

He was attentive to our needs and patient with all our questions. The restaurant is a good size, the bar area was busy and filled with conversation and laughter, the booths looked cozy, we chose a table near windows for outside lighting. I absolutely loved the White Linen -- and that's saying a lot because I'm usually not much of a gin drinker. Tonight I also tried the Blueberry Lemon Drop. I also tried two of their specials -- the Salmon with Alfredo sauce and the Tenderloin sliders. Again, Alfredo normally isn't my thing, but the Salmon was cooked beautifully and the sauce was very enjoyable, especially since they accommodated my request for a lighter amount. Since I couldn't decide between dishes, I ordered the tenderloin sliders to-go as well... and they were delicious too! Our server Miguel was new and did a really good job.
