REVIEW OF EXCEL METAL BUILDINGS…read more Where to begin with this company. They were very responsive during the decision phase and up until the first COD payment was received. From there it went downhill very fast. The process started with the down payment May, 2017. We also ordered engineer stamped drawings at $750.00 each. What they sent was far from professional and gave you very little clue as to how to put the buildings together let alone pass as something close to acceptable by the City. Absolutely no calculations. Months later and working directly with the Excel's engineer in Texas, we got enough to get a building permit. Buildings were scheduled to be delivered the first of July. Nope, didn't come until first of August and not the complete order. They insisted on a COD check but I refused to give them the full payment. Doors came the end of August (they refused to deliver the doors if I didn't give them the remaining balance by COD) and roofing in September. Doug sent me an email saying the insulation would be shipped mid-August, 2017. The end of September I tracked down the Insulation Company who said they had the order but was waiting for payment from Excel before shipping. Insulation came the first of October. Many building parts were missing and a delivery with (most of the missing) red Iron came the first of December. When I pointed out my gutters were missing Doug tried to tell me I had not ordered gutters. I had to have him take a look at the contract before he would order them. Gutters didn't arrive until January and roofing didn't come until January 2018. They made a mistake on the roofing calculations and had to send an additional 77 panels along with the additional backup plates and closure June, 2018. When they sent the missing roof panels, the did not include the additional top cap and clips needed. Excel at this point did not return my emails or phone calls and eventually the mail box was full and I was unable to leave messages. I was forced to contact the supplier and purchase the products to complete the job. To this date (10/16/18), their phone numbers (Excel's office number and Doug Puckett's personal cell) say the mail box is full. All-in-all I communicated with this company either through emails or phone calls over a 100 times for status on delivery, problems and missing parts. What should have been a completed order delivered in 6-8 weeks as promised turned out to be a 12-month process. Bottom line, assuming this company is still operational (they still have their web-site but no way to communicate except maybe through their email) I would RUN as fast as possible in the other direction.

We had purchased a house and had it inspected. the inspection passed, but unfortunately the roof…read morehad not been replaced correctly 3 years earlier. We ended up with 2 issues. Insurance that would not cover us due to poor quality workmanship, and leaks. This was a real problem. We contacted John Cotton Roofing and were surprised to be told that he would be out within 2 days to have a look at the property. John was very forthcoming with an honest, and clear explanation of the issues surrounding our roof and a solid run down of the options we had to correct the problems. We came to an agreement with John on what options we were wanting (For us it was a completely new roof including underlay panels). John and his crew were very good with communication, and available when I called to confirm any details. The roof was stripped and rebuilt the very same day. His workers were diligent and respectful, and above all else hard working. Now after the workers had left and my wife and I did the applicable 360 of the house, to admire our new roof we agreed that we would now need to paint our vent pipes to match the high standard of our new roof. This was not in our agreement with John as we were happy to do this ourselves. I planned to do this the next weekend after work. I went to work the next day and when I arrived home I was surprised to see that all of the vents and chimney on the roof had their flashing upgraded and the pipes painted. I contacted John and he informed me that he had been reviewing the photos of the work that his crew had done and just felt that the job was unfinished. He took it upon himself to ensure that the finishing touches that made my roof complete were completed. This is something John Cotton Roofing did without being asked and without cost to me. So, a huge shout out to John, his family, and his team. Thank you for the fantastic job.
