There are one or two here and there, but if you don't know the area you'll get lost or run out of gas before you find one, and they definitely wont be open late! Hate to say it but the mom and pop gas stations can't compete with the gas prices at Cumbys now. Its really brand new (hence the oh thank heaven thing) and the employees are friend;y and helpful. In the morning hours its a bustling , well oiled machine inside, with the $1 coffee I hope it puts Dunk's out of business, they are crazy popular with the local crowd now. I'll bet the old folks in town couldn't stop talking about it before it opened and now that it is, they have a whole new fun subject to talk about over breakfast across the street at the Westminster cafe! Its comforting to go to a gas station where the pumps are all quick and new and the buttons aren't all worn out. Another note of efficiency - there are 3 entrance/exits so it never gets terribly jammed even during the busiest of times. As far as convenience, Cumby's has terrible store brand products, with very little selection and high prices - but hey its a gas station this is NOT where you buy dinner or go for a bargain. The coffee however, is not phenomenal, but it is certainly above average. If they ever have the Brazilian coffee blend, get that. Trust me its the best you are gonna get at Cumby's.. So strange to say it, but we are glad to have you around Cumberland Farms!

I had to drive through petersham in my travels- not a typical route or regular drive but alas I actually passed this store, noticing the OPEN flag , I slammed a U turn to get a sharply needed caffeine boost and found myself in the most delightful spot in a seemingly desolate places when I say I walked in the door and it felt like - a waiting room to heaven door opened as a really beautifully laid out l, store, restaurant, local craft gallery and mini grocery market was laid out instantly as I floated in here. I took as many photos as a Middle Aged woman is permitted to take without looking like a fool - see the photos- while I waited for my turkey club sandwich on French (highly recommend) and loved every second of it. Ok so we have wonderful local and specialty wines beer, cheeses , pantry items , extremely micro vendors of local sauces, dressings, drinks and a lot more in the refrigerators and a ton of CUTE and adorable hand made functional art and crafts - including these "blind dates with a book" that instant stole my heart (see pics) and made me want to move down the road from this place. Sandwich was lovely exactly what you'd expect from a cute country store and deli but just elevated - and welcomed very much to my stressed and dulled palette To top off off I had probably the best service ever at the counter - like truly inspired me to have a better day every though I have to say it didn't get much better but I can say with confidence my visit to petersham country store was the highlight of my day and I cannot wait to come back and bring a friend for a relaxing morning of books, shopping and coffee here . On this visit we saw woodpeckers and turkeys. (Jul2026) We're fond of time on the lake. We launched from our friends' shore and just motored around. We picnicked on the boat and on our friends' shore. The only public access we know of is the $25 ramp behind the well-stocked North of the Border convenience store on US-202, on the NH/MA border at the west tip of the lake. On the lake in the summer, there's lots of pontoons and boats, jet skis, and kayaks and canoes, for boating, skiing, and fishing. As far as I know, there are no public beaches or shores. The lakefront is all private property.

I often ride my motorcycle to Connecticut, since Rhode Island is so small and the condition of the roads pales in comparison to Connecticut. I've stopped here for drinks and gas either on my way out, or on my way home. They have Mobil gasoline, plus separate diesel and kerosene pumps on the left side of the store. There a decent selection of drinks and snacks, and the store seems pretty clean, well-stocked and well-organized. While there is a customer bathroom, it is actually a porta-potti outdoors, behind the building, so it's like roughing it for people who might be more sensitive to those sort of things (although it beats going in the woods). Be careful pulling out (especially if you're on a motorcycle), since it's at the top of a hill, cars travel pretty fast and you can only see so far out before a car pops over the crest of the hill. One time a few years ago - I will never forget - I was coming back from a motorcycle ride in Connecticut, where I had gotten caught in heavy rain. It was either dusk or dark, but anyway, I went inside to prepay for my gas. There was a customer ahead of me, but the cashier was extremely chatty with this customer, so much so that a puddle of water formed on the floor beneath me while I waited.

It's located at 1839 Lower Rd (Rte 32). Fun fact: Old Furnace was significant at the time of the American Revolution, as a location that manufactured cannon balls. The OFGS was reopened less than 6 months ago, has a license to sell beer and hard liquor with an impressive assortment of such for a small footprint, an assortment of delicious pastries ( I tried the carrot cake whoopee pie and a brownie, both outstanding), has excellent coffee and an assortment of sandwiches delivered daily around 10:30 AM. I met the new owners, Amber and Jeremy, truly nice people who are thrilled to bring the store back to life, and passionate about their venture. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well stocked the store was with food and sundries. It is no secret that I love seeing local businesses succeed. The coffee and pastries were an excellent value. I did not see prices on the beer and wine. The is plenty of parking and a couple of picnic table under an awning to eat at outside. Please take the time to stop by and sample what Old Furnace has to offer. You will be surprised and delighted by what you find. They will begin selling ice cream and sundaes soon.

I know covid is happening but the owners don't wear a mask and don't hold anything against anyone who doesn't. This one guy seems to have a personal issue with me. He told me he will not serve me if I don't wear a mask after he already got through cashing my tickets and getting me my new scratch tickets. Then Goes onto say "im an asshole" and I "must not care about the ones around me" ...... I will say I will not be going back to mr Mike's as I have been going there daily for 3-1/2 years.... what allows someone to be so disrespectful to someone else? Cuz I don't believe what they believe? Where a mask or don't but don't pick me out of the crowd to "make a point" and if this happens again I will be going through some legal "things" to rid this problem so others do. Or have to go through what I have been going through. This is only one of three instances this guy has personally attacked me.
