I started working with Hanna in my third trimester as I approached labor and postpartum. I was…read moreeasily overwhelmed by the endless information available online and wanted one point of reference to help me prepare. Hanna guided me through the mental, physical and emotional discomforts of the third trimester in a positive but also validating/real way. I made plans and changed them over and over, and Hanna stuck with me, reminding me of something I told her the first time we met- that I didn't have anything to prove and just wanted a safe delivery. Hanna provided what I felt to be unbiased information around labor and the fourth trimester including the stages of labor, the newborn vaccines/immunizations offered, etc. that allowed my husband and I to understand and prepare in the best possible way that suited our values and desires. I wanted my husband and I to be as present as possible during labor, so Hanna truly wrapped her head around what was and wasn't important for my birth plan (which helped me fully think it all through too) so that we didn't have to worry about anything or make any major decisions during such a transformative time. During labor, I had terrible shakes and nausea, and she was able to calm my nervous system in so many ways. It's hard to put into words, but her presence and touch allowed me to actually get some rest and overall still enjoy the process of labor while so many factors were leading me to feel so depleted. Hanna followed up in the hours, days and weeks to come to ensure I was supported and provided guidance around breastfeeding, hormone changes, and the new life we were living. During my most vulnerable moments, Hanna was there to listen and support us. Looking back, some of my favorite moments were captured as well - my final pushes, the first time holding my son, and our first moments as a family of three. Hanna also guided me through one of my most favorite memories in life - golden hour latching - when my son latched at less than an hour old - something I will cherish forever! Hanna was a pilar in every transition we endured throughout pregnancy, labor and postpartum. I will be forever grateful for her support and safe space. I would highly recommend her to any mom/family, as we would've had a huge missing piece to the birth of our first child without her!

From the very beginning of our prenatal care, she walked alongside us with deep compassion and intention, preparing us for the sacred experience of birth. During our home birth, Natalie created a grounding and loving atmosphere that made us feel safe and cared for. She wasn't just there for the big moments--she was there for the deeply human, tender ones as well. She helped me shower after birth, helped me change my diapers and get dressed, and cooked our first meal immediately after giving birth. Her presence was integral to our umbilical cord burning ceremony, honoring the transition into parenthood in such a meaningful way. Without writing an essay, this is just a snippet of the deep and loving care she blessed us with. During my birth, she cared for me in ways I will never forget--ensuring I was nourished and hydrated, offering hands-on comfort through counter pressure and soothing touch, and supporting my husband so he could feel confident and connected in his role. Natalie's ability to meet each moment with intention, grace, and love made our birth experience truly extraordinary. Natalie has become more than a doula to us--she is family. The depth of her care and the love she brought to this journey will remain forever in our hearts. I cannot recommend her enough, she is a true blessing to anyone navigating the beautiful journey of welcoming a new baby into their life!

I had a traumatic birth experience that led to PPD. While a doula can't control how a path journey goes, I found the lack of open kindness and preparation to have made things so worst that I wish I had gone without and how much better off I would have been and our child. We recently welcomed our second child and it was a wonderful healing journey without the help of Cory or any doula. It made me reflect back on how negative my experience was here.

This review is a long time coming!…read more My husband and I were expecting our first and wanted to do a water birth at Baby + Co. As we started to take our birthing classes, we both realized we were out of our element. We needed help!! But not just any help, we wanted to help someone help us. We specifically wanted a training doula. I emailed a few different doulas in search of the perfect one for our family. We found "Not Crunchy" Cory! From the first email I knew that she was the one I wanted to be with me at my birth. Not only because she was willing to take us on despite my due date being the same week of Thanksgiving, but also because she was the right kind of energy for us. Cory was on the same page we were in terms of cord cutting, bathing, etc. which just solidified that we had made the right choice. She never pushed anything on us or told us that our choices were wrong. As a first-time mom, that is worth its weight in GOLD! She frequently checked in with us as my due date neared and had visited with us twice before to calm our nerves about what an unmediated birth would "feel" like. We practiced different pressure points and positions that we could utilize, and talked about what to do when I went into labor. Little did I know she would be the reason we had our dream water birth instead of a hotel birth. I had an incredibly quick labor and told Cory at 3 PM I needed her to join me. She arrived around 5 PM and by 7:27 PM we had a baby. All those pressure points and positions we discussed went out the door! I didn't want to be touched and she totally respected that. She ended up being there just to support my husband and I and tell us that we needed to head to the birth center NOW! Fast forward to our postpartum visit and she was so helpful I didn't want her to leave. She is now a friend and a resource that I can utilize whenever I have any questions. She has been such a lifesaver, I cannot imagine going through this without her. She is simply amazing!!
