What a disappointment! I watched a few TikToks and several people recommended this place. I was particularly intrigued because I did not know that Mexico City had a Chinatown, and from the photos I saw they had some tables on the second level with the balcony overlooking the street which looked very cool. It was also only a 10-minute walk from my hotel. All signs pointing to a great meal and experience. What a disappointment! As I approached the restaurant, there was a young men in black with menus inviting me to come on in. I asked him if I could have a table at the balcony and he quickly brought me to the perfect spot. That's where this great experience began and ended. It was a great place to sit and watch the world go by on the street below. I really enjoyed that. My stomach has been a little queasy the last day or so which is quite normal when I travel, so I decided that it might be best to order something kind of neutral. I ordered wonton soup with shrimp wontons. The soup was nothing special. Some broth with very little else other than the wontons. No vegetables other than a couple of pieces of onion and scallipns, no noodles, no nothing. What was even more disappointing was that the waiter never checked back in with me one time to see how it was or if I wanted something else. So I did not feel totally ripped off, I sat for a while after I finished my soup to enjoy the view. I kept looking for my waiter for the check but he was nowhere to be found. I saw him off in the distance a couple of times but I could not grab his attention. So finally I asked somebody else to help me I was tempted to not leave any tip at all but I know these waiters make very little and so I gave him 10% which is cheap for me but he really did not deserve that! I left unsatisfied and disappointed and I cannot recommend this place to anyone else. They have been around for a long time and there were a lot of people there so either I ordered the wrong thing or people are not as discriminating as I am when it comes to Chinese food. After all, I grew up in New York and they have an amazing Chinatown with amazing food! The only redeeming factor was that is just a few minutes from the Palace of Fine Arts where I'm going tonight to see the Ballet Folklorico, which I heard is fantastic. Hopefully it'll take my mind off that lousy soup. Btw... Cost close to $10 which is the same thing I pay in the United States which is unusual for here. Most things are much cheaper. Absolutely loved this restaurant. Customer service was great. Lots of amazing food options. Portions were perfect. We ordered 4 different plates. All of them big enough to share. Food was fresh and it didn't take very long to get our food. The place has a balcony that overlooks the street below. Restaurant was clean and staff was very nice. We didn't get a chance to take a picture of the food because my husband and teenage boys were starving. This place has plenty of tables for large parties. Barrio Chino is a wonderful part of Mexico City and Hong King has been a staple so I was excited to see! First off the service is really slow so be prepared to wait. Thankfully the food came out fast. The mango in the shrimp tempura roll is not a good mix. We had the oriental selection. The egg rolls were amazing! You could tell they were fresh. I didn't think the ribs were going to be as tender as they were. Wings tasted bland, and the shrimp tempura wasn't too bad. The wonton soup was had a really tasty broth! The pollo almendrado was great. The chicken had a great taste and the cashews were excellent. I had a margarita and it was NOT good. I forgot to take a picture but it was a blob of froth that never melted the whole time we were there. I'd go back but probably won't try other items on their menu as it didn't seem the most promising. read more

My brother wanted Chinese food while we were in Mexico City and why not go to Chinatown for it. Lol. We ended up here and were seated outside at our request and got to people watch from our table which made for great ambiance. My experience with the service was excellent, very attentive and quick. I did have to remind them one dish was missing but that wasn't a problem, it was busy and things happen. We ordered House chow mein, Camarones con cinco especias (fried shrimp with 5 spices), Salteado Con Ajonjoli Y Hojuelas De Chile (fried chicken with sesame spicy style). The chow mein was good, big portions with veggies, chicken, shrimp and beef. The shrimp were very tasty, most people don't like peeling shrimp, but I don't mind as it hold more flavor. The chicken was a little dry but I still enjoyed the seasoning and the flavor. All in all My experience here was great, a good place to have a bite when looking to switch it up to something different while in Mexico City. read more

We went there over the weekend because this restaurant seems so appealing from the outside. My girlfriend and I ordered the same thing which was their special called Arroz de la casa. It basically consisted of minimally flavored rice with puedes ir chicken mixes in. There were very few vegetables, and if we didn't add soy sauce there probably would be been zero flavor. It almost seemed as though the rice was recycled from the day before. Our Server was not helpful at all, and I needed to actually get up from the table to get her attention. There were several employees out in front of the restaurant and they were acting friendly trying to persuade people to come inside. We felt like we were tricked by these guys. We finished as much of the tasteless dry rice as we could before we ran out of there. The only thing nice about this restaurant is the ambiance and we felt that it's designed to trick customers into thinking that this is a classy restaurant. read more

This is an ok Chinese restaurant. It is perfectly located among Chinatown "barrio Chino" 's establishments in CDMX. The restaurant is clean. It has two floors. The upper level is larger and beautifully decorated with Chinese culture ornaments. The bathroom is clean. The service needs improvement. From the hostess to the waiter. The hostess told us at the main door that our table was ready, but no one was waiting for us, so we proceeded to seat in a table at the lower level. Then, they told us our table was upstairs. The waiter Mr. Juan was somewhat pushy and inpatient. The other waiter attending to us, Daniel, was nice and attentive. About the food, the noodle soup lacked flavor and salt. The won ton soup is ok. The Mongolian beef and the brown shrimp fried rice were good. The sesame seed chicken and the Hawaiian shrimp were ok. Tourist trap in Barrio Chino (Chinatown) section of CDMX. Ordered fried rice, Mongolian beef and 5-spice shrimp. Rice came first. ? Beef came a few minutes later. Shrimp came about 15 minutes later. Had to remind waiter about shrimp. Why he brought them one entree at a time instead of all at once is beyond me. It was very irritating. I think the rice at panda express is better. The Mongolian beef was so so. The 5-spice shrimp had almost no flavor at all and they were fried with the shells on. Some people may enjoy this, but I do not. They should have told me or stated so on the menu. The bill was like $40. I pay less in the states for far superior Chinese food. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

A total tourist trap. You know it is a bad restaurant when they use exactly same ingredients or, worse, recycle dishes. On left is Mongolian Beef and right Mixed vegetable. This is a terrible restaurant, I would stay away especially if you are a tourist. Me and my mom cane and ate here recently. Nobody is speaking any English. The waiter gave us a Chinese menu that is more expensive than the English/Spanish menu. The waiter charged us 37 pesos for a small bowel of white steam rice. This was our first meal and we did not question the price and later found that the waiter raised the price of the rice. The waiter charged us 10 percent tips without telling us and then when I asked about the price, he acted like it was tax for the food. I ended up paying another 15 percent for tip because I did not know. The food was very greasy. I ordered Chinese vegetable, it was the smallest plate I have ever seen and it was heavily seasoned with sauce and dry peppers. The rice noodle with beef was so greasy that you can almost use the grease to cook another dish. I do not recommend this place. read more
