Hong Kong BBQ is in a convenient location on the intersection of Leeds and Hopkins in Footscray.
it's decor is basic, a bit old and sometimes a little worn at times but it's functional for what it is.
The dishes are pretty good, they taste great, the flavour is good and the meat is juicy and succulent. The duck is great, roast pork is great, and they do a good range of classic Cantonese. Try the fried rice with chicken and salted fish. Or also the fried chicken rice, which is really good as well.
Service can be difficult at times as the waiters/waitresses sometimes don't speak English as well as you may like, but if you know Cantonese (which I do), you'll get by a lot easier. But once it's communicated, it's quite prompt.
Overall, it's a place that sells nice food, but don't expect the niceties.
Prices are very reasonable, at around $10-12 a head for lunch.
