This is a fantastic way to earn your degree at a faster pace than most and the instructors really appreciate the students. I always go to Pauladacy for any questions regarding my degree plan but if they are busy you can always check out Chris Chiu at Tripler. Both of these HPU employees are VERY knowledgeable and won't steer you wrong. I can't say the same for the other employees, although they are equally polite and I enjoy conversing with them, my paperwork has been messed up or I have been given misinformation. This is the only reason I removed stars and give it an "A-OK" rating. If you are already or almost done with your Bachelor's degree, check out the Master's program - you can take classes concurrently and get that degree sooner than expected.

Even when they are here, the lines are not that bad. The counselors are very helpful and definitely helps speed up the process when you are trying to apply for college. You have to take a class to teach how TA works before you sign up. It's scary when you have been out of school for so long, but it's free school while you're still active. Definitely awesome.

The staff who I kept in contact with since my enrollment have been so wonderful to me. One member for sure who I would love to mention is Cheryl. She has dealt with me through my ups and downs during my program, she was always there for me and i felt that she Truly wanted to see me succeed. Now, as far as courses go, I had no issues with the materials given or how things were taught. Clinicals are required and let me tell you what a great feeling it is when you're finally there! It makes you want to keep pushing to the end. The instructors that I had during my time there were so awesome. My Favorites were definitely Shelley and Ron. I know most would say that they are strict but honestly I have learned so much from the both of them, things that I have been able to apply at my current job (Pali Momi Vascular Surgery) Externship, yes, this can be very difficult to complete especially if you are currently working and I know a lot of us have families to take care of, but this does go by pretty quickly ( well for me it did) it helps to have support not just with this part but throughout the entire program. Overall I really enjoyed my time here, meeting new people and being able to learn along side one another. The staff almost felt like family. I had a very good experience with HMC!

Also had a huge problem with a nurse teaching in skills lab. She was rude and treated the students like we were stupid. She has a lot of complaints from students but they refuse to do anything about it. Regardless, I graduated from the class early April and I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY CERTIFICATION. You need the certificate to test with the state to become an official CNA. It's almost like they just want your money and don't care about the students at all. This college needs to do better.

After high school, my friend's daughter wanted to go to Cosmetology School and needed some customers to gain experience. If you need a simple manicure, pedicure, haircut, etc. - and have time... this is a great place to go! The prices are reasonable, and the students are sweet and open-minded! The teacher came around a few times to check on the progress, so no worries! Book your appointment, park on campus, and sign in with the receptionist who will give a parking pass for $3 - which will be added to the bill for services. It's cash only. Remember to tip the student! Note: I got a manicure - it was very relaxing! My former coworker got a haircut. My friend is getting a scalp treatment and facial tomorrow! I want to try that next!

The 4-stars are because I was assigned to taking course 8080 during the DNP program in 2025 and it…read moreturned out to be a waste of my loan funds. I had to rewrite chapter 3 in course 9030, 2-quarters later. Honestly, there was no point in being told to take course 8080. I recommend they take this out of the curriculum for future cohorts. Other than that, I learned a lot from this program. And the professors give you a lot of one-on-one time and personal attention as needed.

Great classes and instructors, but by far the worst financial aid department I've ever dealt with…read more I've attended HPU for over two years, and not once have I received a payment without going through an exhausting hassle--even when all my requirements were completed on time. The department rarely answers phone calls or responds to emails, and I'm still waiting on a call back regarding my very first Pell Grant check from two years ago. The lack of communication and support is unacceptable, especially for an office responsible for students' financial well-being.
