I have dealt with many landlords in my time both good and bad. I now live in Huntington, W.Va. I desired to live in a quiet neighborhood with good people surrounded by me. I called Hood Realty and this is where I met Whitney Gesner. The first place I was shown wasn't to my liking so I declined because i didn't like the area. I never thought that I would receive a phone call the following morning stating that perhaps there was a place to my liking. I followed up the next morning and felt Like God had a hand in the place Whitney showed me. It was the perfect area and it had the space I wanted. I felt so blessed. She didn't have to call me back and I never imagined that she left that first day and was still thinking about what she had that she could offer me, as far as a place to live. I am so happy and content with my living situation. She is more than a fair person and she's a good person. I am a single African American lady, so where I chose to live had to be a place of privacy and little to no nonsense going on as I pursue my education. There is not a racist bone in this lady's body. Obviously, she is carrying on a family legacy and from my viewpoint it's business but also it's caring about the tenant. I could not ask for a better landlord. Great apartment in a great location. Everything inside the apartment was practically brand new and in excellent condition. The building was always clean, quiet and very well kept inside and out. The terms of the lease were very clearly stated and thoroughly explained to me prior to entering into the rental agreement. The management is friendly, responsive and very accommodating. I was treated with respect, consideration and flexibility. BY FAR the best rental experience I've ever had and after 8 years in the Military and 3 Master's Degrees you can be sure I've had quite a few! I recently moved from one of Hood Realty's apartments to another. Personally I have had no issues with them I hold up my end of the lease as does Hood Realty hold up there end. I only have had to call once about my air conditioner leaking and they replaced it within a week. When moving out I received my damage deposit back within two days. I now live in another apartment building rented from them as well, and have yet to have any issues with the landlord or the apartment. This is a nice place to live ; the relator and landlord is helpful! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to rent in Huntington! read more

I've had a great experience with Hood Realty. Whitney is super nice and easy to communicate with. I started off renting an awesome duplex with a friend of mine and stayed for 1.5 years. My friend moved, so I needed something smaller. Whitney let me transfer my initial down deposit to a one bedroom. If I ever have any problems, I just text the maintenance guy who typically comes the same day to fix the issue. Would def recommend to other renters, especially college students looking for high quality, reasonably-price housing not too far from campus. read more

When I bought a house, Whitney was the person who served as my realtor. She was more than professional; she was extremely helpful.
