There are many places on the island to get breakfast. Hooked is the place to go if all the others are closed. This was our first time here and we weren't impressed. First we were told a 15-20 min wait - no problem. We were seated 45 minutes later. Food was ordered and promptly served. My husband ordered the mashed potato cake and scrambled eggs. I ordered the Brighton omelet. His order looked child sized. My omelet was overcooked. We saw our waitress once to see if the food was ok and the next to bring the check. No drink refill offers. One plus is the scrapple nuggets. Very hot and crunchy. Delicious. Other than that there really isn't anything special about Hooked on Breakfast. read more

The best breakfast I had on the island these past two weeks. This place took the number one slot for me (as far as breakfast goes). The sausage and biscuit was the best I'd ever had. What I and my party appreciated was the food was actually super hot when it arrived at our table. This is not always the case as breakfast joints on the island. Great service all around. Hooked on Breakfast doesn't just do breakfast! I had the BEST salad I think I've ever had in my life there. I am *not* the type of person who normally orders a salad at a restaurant (total foodie here), but it was a hot day & when I asked my server about her favorite things, she recommended the Summer Salad, among a host of other amazing sounding choices. I was not disappointed. The dressing was so good I wanted to *lick my plate!* I keep hoping they'll eventually sell the dressing in bottles, because then I could just put a straw in it in the privacy of my own home. Not only is the food delicious, but the service was excellent. I was greeted (while just walking down the street, window shopping, I might add) by Sophie, who just gave me a perky "Hi!" & smiled as a walked past. No pressure to eat there, just a happy little greeting. I asked her about the restaurant & she happily told me how they were a new establishment where you could order breakfast anytime & she pointed out the owner (waiting tables - love that work ethic!), and showed me a menu. The descriptions of the food sounded like they were written by a foodie poet. The place is clearly named well ... she hooked me & reeled me right in. I *needed* a seat. My server (Erin) was attentive without being stalker-ish & had a great personality that shone through, despite the heat. She clearly worked hard & took pride in her work. In glancing around, it appeared that the entire staff loved working there; they were efficient, courteous, and pleasant. I will most definitely be back! One of the best places for Breakfast on the shore. We had a large party and that can always be difficult for small restaurants that are busy. The hostess was extremely pleasant and told us not to worry she'd figure something out and we had a table within 10 minutes. The service was great and food came out fast. Outstanding service, quick, pleasant, attentive. Our server, I think her name was Kira took excellent care of us for breakfast. She made suggestions was familiar with the menu and always had a smile on her face. We had our names in and order taken inside of 10 minutes. The food was excellent, I had the meat man scram and a side of scrapple nuggets. I don't think I'll be able to eat scrapple another way again. If you like waiting for cold food - great place! We ordered pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage and toast ... and it took over 40 minutes and was $30. No one will ask you how your meal was - but they did take my nephew's plate before he was done eating. And I've been coming to ocean city for 35 years (and I went to high school here) so I don't have high expectations- but I do expect sausage to be warm ... or pancakes ... I tipped the waitress 20 % - as one always should ... but the owners should be ashamed. How do you serve cold toast after a 40 minute wait? btw - I would have told the owner this when I was paying ... but she didn't ask. I've never left a negative review on yelp - but they deserve to hear how they failed and they could have asked. read more

We walked in to smiling, welcoming staff and a pristinely clean dining room. The inviting atmosphere was palpable- joyous and comfortable. There was a decent variety of choices on the menu and the prices were super reasonable, especially considering how exorbitant most places are at the shore. The food was fantastic!! Portion sizes were spot on- not lacking at all, but also not excessive. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection, and we were so pleased at how quickly it was prepared. We stopped in on a Wednesday in May and were seated right away. Really nice, clean interior. The service was exceptional as well as the food. The porkroll omelette was huge and I could only eat half of it. Great potatoes and rye bread came with my dish which made me a happy camper. My husband ordered the open faced sandwich with two eggs over easy and he devoured it. My sister-in-law had the same omelette as me but with really tasty pancakes. This place is brand new, but I can already say with conviction that here is where you'll find the best hamburger in OC. Hand-formed, and cooked to perfection with just the right amount of char. As for breakfast, the applebread french toast is fantastic. The staff is friendly, the service is good (still just outdoors for now) and the prices are excellent given the quality of the food. Yummy breakfast!!! We stopped in this weekend to grab breakfast. We sat outside and it was lovely. My favorite thing is that they have big coffee mugs. . Not tiny typical diner mugs. (I'm a coffee-a-holic ) My hubby had an omelet with "the best rye bread". This is high praise, as he is a rye bread snob. I had an amazing hot apple waffle. The waffle was perfection! My friends and I can't wait to go back! Food and service were second to none. Although we wanted an outside table (due to Covid 19 concerns), they were occupied, and my friends and I felt very comfortable in the social distancing seating inside. Decor was lovely and food was delicious and fresh. Service was quick and helpful and we all cleaned our plates. This place takes the cake or should I say apple bread when it comes to breakfast. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the initial wait time was around 45 minutes. I would say don't let this discourage you because we waited less than 30 minutes. They use a text message system and you can refresh the webpage which updates your place in line. Don't venture off too far because once you get the text, your table is held for 5 minutes. I think people put their name in and maybe find somewhere else to eat in the meantime because our place in line dropped pretty quickly. We ordered the apple bread French toast, garden scram, chocolate chip and peanut butter chocolate chip pancakes. To me breakfast is breakfast but this place kicks it up a notch. The French toast was made with homemade apple bread which made it interesting and served with a side of cinnamon butter. I thought I was eating dessert rather than breakfast. The vegetables in the garden scram were all fresh and delicious. Also got a side of bacon which was thicker than you would probably get at a local diner. Pancakes were nice and fluffy and my kids approved. These were 3 very large pancakes and I will make a note for next time to order a short stack for them. I didn't realize you could get a short stack because to me it is hidden in the menu at the bottom of the pancake section. Also the staff were all very friendly and attentive. In the end I'm glad we stayed for the wait and we will be back because we are Hooked!. read more
