Mother's Day felt extra special this year at Hope Church. I decided to take my mom there because we both believe in God, and I just knew they were going to do something meaningful for the day. From the moment we walked in, we were genuinely impressed. The lighting was beautiful, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and the stage setup looked absolutely amazing. Everything felt polished, peaceful, and thoughtfully done. Out front they had free coffee, water, and different tea options to make yourself feel right at home. They even had an espresso bar with treats if you wanted to go a little further with it. The entire place was incredibly clean, even the bathrooms were impressive. The outside of the church looked great too, and the whole experience just felt organized and inviting. The worship experience was incredible. The live band sounded awesome, the intro was powerful, and the way they honored mothers during the service really brought everything home emotionally. Sharing that experience with my mom made it even more meaningful. It honestly felt less like just attending church and more like taking my mom to a beautiful live event filled with positivity, love, and faith. One thing that stood out to me was how casual and easygoing everything felt. There was no pressure, no awkwardness, just friendly people and an easy walk in vibe. You could definitely feel the spirit moving through the place. The staff and volunteers were kind, welcoming, and genuinely happy to have people there. It also seems like they are heavily involved in outreach and missionary work throughout the community. They hand out pamphlets with all kinds of groups, events, and opportunities to get involved, and it really feels like an active church that wants to make a difference. Five stars all day long. they just wont quit asking for money every sunday 5-6 times i get asked for money to support some cause if they get ur info they just wont stop with the mailings, have asked several time to be removed from their mailings now i get 2 of everything just shows they only care about getting more money how about spending that money on something becides asking for more money read more

Great message Great people Great God!!! The evening service is our favorite, we love the vibe of the night service. The worship team is absolutely wonderful just love singing praises to our Lord. Pastor Mark is so personable. We can't wait to attend church on Sundays. read more

History

Established in 1922.

The first several years our church was led by both pastors and at times lay leaders. In 1925 it was named "The Full Gospel Assembly." In 1949 a young pastor Named R.E. Book and his wife Dorothy arrived and the church experienced significant growth and expansion. The church would move from its current location at Second and Jackson to its new property on Santiam Hwy. In 1976, Pastor Allen and Joyce Groff came to Albany First Assembly. In 1985 Pastor Lewis and Margaret Shelton arrived at Albany First. Under Pastor Shelton's leadership missions outreach and giving grew significantly. . Pastor Lew was followed by Pastor David Albanese. In September of 2010, Pastor Frank Silverii was elected the new Lead Pastor of Albany First Assembly. In 2017 Albany First Assembly officially became Hope Church of the Assemblies of God, by an overwhelming vote of church membership, as part of a relaunch effort of our church to the Mid-Willamette Valley, called the Hope Initiative.

This church is a place to call home for so many. There are different syles of services to meet your needs. The 9 am service is "softer", the 1045 am one is more contemporary and the evening one is a good mix--all have the same message. Greeters are friendly and I always feel welcome. Children's programming is awesome....my grandkids love it! It's super safe and secure. I feel like the church is well organized and the organization itself is efficient and well run. Leadership is great and seems to be on an upward trajectory! You'll be blessed by the people you meet, the worship music, the message you hear, and the uplifting environment.
