But in all…read moreseriousness, I have only recently begun remembering all the seriously messed up stuff they would make us do in youth group. Vividly remember adults making junior high kids of the opposite sex lick peanut butter off of opposing sides of a piece of plexiglass while the 'adult leaders' watched. Making kids drink soda through other kids socks. Blowing raw eggs through a tube into each other's mouths. What a screwed up youth program, hopefully this place shuts down soon.

The pastors have hearts…read moreof gold and puts on programs in the summer to feed the community and they even have church outside when the weather permits. They allow anyone to come in and get prayer or just come and enjoy the word of God and fellowship with them. I've seen people walk up from off the streets and listen in and get prayer from the pastors. The people here all have a good spirit and there is so much joy and peace here now. Everyone is genuine here and very friendly and they don't stare at you when you come in wearing pants or shorts. It's come as you are cause here, the ONLY judge is God. He will bless you with more and then if you feel lead, HE will tell you what to wear. Cause no one here will turn you away for what you don't have in your closet to wear. Which I absolutely love. Their job is to welcome you in to the house of the Lord and God , from there, does the rest. They love the way God intends for HIS people to love. Without any judgement or picks and chooses just genuine love. And I'm happy to be apart of something like that! We're all trying and striving to be fit for God's Kingdom so be encouraged today and God loves you no matter what you've done. God sent his son, Jesus, to take the cross that all his sheep(all people) be brought together. Remove all the walls of division in your heart and love. Went to a beautiful Christmas Day service here when we visited my inlaws this weekend. The entire…read morecongregation, the pastor, and the entire staff were so welcoming. I think we literally shook hands and met every single person at the service. Such a warm and welcoming community, we will definitely come back for a service next time we are in Illinois. The church itself looks like something out of a postcard, absolutely beautiful stain glass all over and gorgeous Art Deco lighting through out.
