What a cute place! I came on a road trip with my dog to San Antonio. I had a long list of dog friendly places for us to check out. I was between going here and the place next door but I liked the music better here better. I did a lap around then sat at the bar. I was quickly asked what I would like but I requested the menu. The menu does not have proxies but when I asked they said cocktails are $9-11, well drinks $6.50. I got the regal beagle. I'd be willing to bet the price of the drink that there wasn't more than 1/2 drop of alcohol in it lol. But it was SWELTERING so I didn't really need to be tipsy anyway. They let me put my pup on th chair next to me which was next to a "big ass fan" that did a great job of moving air. I went over to benji's food truck and got a patty melt and upgraded for ~$3 to fries. The fries were good and piping hot. Patty melt was just ok. Luckily the $18 meal was huge and I got a to go box to eat the rest later. I then took my dog over to the dog park where he played his heart out with some new friends. By this time it had cooled down a lot and there was plenty of water around. They also have a Fi collar station and you can check rankings for your dog but it's based on number of visits, not steps. I closed my tabs and we left through the back directly onto the riverwalk and walked back to our hotel. Perfect end to a perfect day.

I don't know who enjoys going to Hops and Hounds more, me or my two canine boys. All of the dogs are friendly as are the owners. The drinks are good though, sometimes can be too sweet, depending on what you order, but the selection of beer is always on point.

My pup & I love this place. They're super mindful about who has access to the off leash area like how the pups need to be well behaved, neutered, and vaccinated which is great because it takes away the fear of any issues that a normal public park could lead to. I love that they have food trucks, music, or movies, or games playing at random times. I also love the amount of chairs and tables! The service is also chill. I don't interact with the staff much but they've never given me a hard time.

Ambiance: Fun and open outdoor bar/food truck space with an onsite dog park perfect for dog lovers looking to enjoy a nice day! This is one of the cutest spots in San Antonio for pet owners! They offer multiple seating options, from high top tables to hammocks to picnic tables. There is also seating at the bar. Multiple TVs including a large screen at the entrance, perfect for watching a big game. Onsite coffee stand and food trucks as well as beers on tap make this the perfect spot for morning or night. Street parking available. Tons of dogs and fun dog-themed decor/backdrops. This is the perfect place for a large group hangout, solo day out with your dog, or to enjoy a nice day.

So cute and fun! We actually don't have a dog, but if you want to see adorable dogs and grab some good drinks and food, this place is amazing. They have big, comfortable outdoor couches, long bench areas on the wall across from the bar, a lot of picnic tables and high top picnic tables. There's a full bar and the food is from the food truck. We just got the spinach dip grilled cheese as a snack, which was really great. Grabbed coffee afterwards at Grounds and Hounds which is right in front. Ample, comfortable outdoor seating and a lot of it is in the shade. They had a DJ on a Saturday afternoon. There's a large enclosed dog park on the other side of the bar, which I'm sure is a huge highlight for any dog owner.

I do enjoy this place a lot! However not a ton of food options. What they do have is good. The bartenders are very kind and my dog enjoys the attendants. Lots of different types of dogs and they have lots of events! Very nice chill vibes. Parking can be tricky.

This place is Pawfect!!! Fun little pet friendly space. We have a 5 month old golden doodle and trying get her acclimated to going out with us. Figured this spot would be perfect to grab some drinks, a bite to eat and catch a college football game. The atmosphere is great and spread out so you and your furry friends can roam and chill. Love the bar set up, food truck and the dog park area. It's now $5 for an all day pass to the large or small dog park but 1000% worth it. The set up and agility courses are a working dogs dream come true. We ordered some beers and the frozen margarita flight. No food this time but looking forward to coming back and updating my review. PS. I'm a sucker for any establishment that supports pet adoptions. They had one even at 7pm at night when we visited.

Hops & Hounds has it all when it comes to dog friendly places to hang out. Since we discovered this cool place, our dogs have really benefited from the socialization and the activity.. I like going there for the atmosphere the delicious food from the food trucks and coffee bar, and the bar drinks Hops & Hounds has really cool special events and the service is wonderful. They keep the dog part clean and have attendance in the area to facilitate a positive experience..

I reserved an ultimate package for my dog's first birthday party. The lack of messaging between me and the manager Maxine was terrible. I tried to communicate with her for weeks trying to set it up for my dog. i wanted to know what packages are available, what it comes with etc. The employees couldn't answer any of my questions. One employee had told me that he was going to take care of us, yet we never saw him, or check in on how we were. I understand if it's busy but this was NOT the case, and after planning this I was very disappointed. Pup cups, party hats, and a customizable cake was supposed to be included and they weren't. I wish they could've communicated that they weren't going to have everything that was included in the package or at least refund partially, but they instead gave me $25 gift card to use at the venue. The manager was nowhere to be found. The decorations they promised me was just a sign & basic balloons. I was told it would've been a jungle theme & it was NOWHERE near that. The overall atmosphere, drinks, & food was very okay BUT was it worth booking the party for my pup and his friends ? NO it wasn't. I wouldn't recommend booking a reservation. Save your money!!

Love it here. You can eat and relax with your dog but it's $5 for a day to into the dog park. My dog loves it and she follows me around. Plus she likes the playground ramp going up and down it. The drinks are really good especially the margarita and you can get a flight

First time being at this new location - we finally ventured out on a longer trip with our pup and while walking along the Riverwalk we happened upon their new location. Great open space with lots of fun, casual seating and river views -and a play area for dogs ( this may have a change according to the folks next to us). Grabbed a couple of beers and the have on hand bowls for your pup! They also have a bunch of different food trucks on hand! We tried one with a grilled cheese sandwich and fries - would not do that again! It took forever to get our order, it was under seasoned and over priced and I felt sick shortly after eating it! But as they are a separate company - my review is focused on the bar only ! Nice selection of beers, great space and dog friendly! Will definitely return for drinks and I will eat somewhere else else!

When I saw that Hops & Hounds were opening up a new location, I couldn't help but to be a little excited. I've been to their original location and each visit, had a grand ole time. Not only is this new location within walking distance to a few other spots I frequent, but it has some MAJOR upgrades, that I couldn't wait to check out! Good stuff: comfy seating; two bar areas; two food trucks; right next to the Riverwalk; plenty of photo ops. Not so good: big tree/umbrellas at tables, but doesn't provide much shade from the sun; dog park (no leash area) is no longer free. You have to register on an app and pay $5 for a day pass. Street parking not always available, but there's public parking for $7 right next door. Overall, this is the perfect spot to bring your fur babies..well actually your whole family, to enjoy a nice day out.

Tried the new location for the first time last night & let me start by saying that I truly didn't think they could make this place better... but, somehow they did! It's right on the river. The dog area is massive now. Friendly servers. Plenty of bars to get drinks from so you're not stuck in line. What's not to like?

I have a 20-pound Frenchie that thinks he's a Great Dane, Diesel. He gets along fine in the big…read moredogs area, which is really the only area used by 90% of folks for dogs big and small alike. Diesel loves Bark Park and perks up when he realizes where we're headed. In dozens upon dozens of visits, he's been humped a handful of times and subjected to a little rough play, but very rarely to the point where I felt it was unsafe. Bark Park is a pretty typical dog park in this respect, maybe a bit less aggressive than others I've visited. The regulars here are pretty diverse and super friendly. I'm kinda introverted by nature and have a good sense of stranger danger, but I get drawn into a lot of conversations, mostly because Diesel is an enthusiastic idiot who somehow runs at normal dog speed despite his small stature. Regarding the parking, yes, there is a lot at the far side of the dog park, and yes, you have to traverse a four-foot-wide path with your back to the traffic whizzing by at all of 15 MPH if you choose to park in this lot. Closer spots are sometimes available, but when filled, I mostly default to the baseball field parking lot across the street. The biggest logistical problem here is poor drainage. There is a small wading pool that often gets filled and ends up with stagnant, dirty water, which Diesel seems to gravitate to after he gets winded. In general, the water situation at Bark Park is not optimal...fountains work poorly, and drainage is bad throughout. There are a few water jugs sprinkled about in an attempt to mitigate the issue, and provide fresh water for pups. The amount of shade could be better. If it's midday during the summer, I'll drive to Phil Hardberger as the foliage there really helps keep the temperatures a little more reasonable. Bark Park installed a gazebo last year, which helps with some shade if you are sedentary, but I like to walk laps because otherwise Diesel loses his mind. The trees at the park seem to be underwatered; a large portion of them have been cut back or cut down, and not a lot of foliage has grown back in. The issues are minor enough that 95% of the time, I'll prefer the five-minute drive to Bark Park over a fifteen-minute trek to Harbender. Diesel has enough fun that we've been frequenting it with some sort of regularity for a few years now.

Someone in our group had heard this was the place, so we walked over and hoped for the best. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately impressed by the vibe.
