I'd give less than one star if I could. When we arrived, there were many open seats, and we came…read moreafter the rush of Sunday early afternoon meals. They ignored us after we sat down. Understanding that sometimes it takes a few minutes to get a server, so we took the opportunity to hangout and look at the menu to decide what to get. After 20 minutes, I finally asked for a quick drink, just water, I was told that we needed to order and it'd be at least 20 more minutes. Half an hour later were told it'll be at least another. We ended up leaving, knowing the reason we received poor/no service it was because we're Americans. This is not as assumption, it was intentional because several others, who arrived after us, were served while we were ignored. This is the first experience I've had in Germany with this. I was shocked and very disappointed because I'd actually set my heart on their schnitzel which looked amazing. The other establishments I've visited in my week in Berlin have been as courteous as I've been. When I travel abroad I do my best to dispel the image of rude Americans. This really made me so sad. Do not waist your time if you're not a local.
