Bear in mind, this hotel is a leading edge, stake in ground to begin to develop this area as a wine destination... So it is abit like catching Sonoma 14 years ago. The wineries are great, there are a couple of nice restaurants, the wonderful castle..... and a really good wine museum... which is modern and sophisticated. So you know though, you will not have the complete commercial development of a Napa ... so no upscale stores and wine bars, etc... I thought it was a great get away and the hotel was fantastic... but this is more of a rustic wine journey..that happens to have a great, modern hotel option to stay at.

Although staying walking distance from the village would be an advantage, the reason I would come back to this hotel is because it is on a nice little vineyard! This makes the short taxi ride into town worth the trip. Although this might be categorized as a motor lodge because of its location right off the highway that takes travelers from Madrid to Ribera del Duero and on to La Rioja, it is still situated on a nice little tempranillo vineyard. The mornings on the back deck can't be beat. Enjoy your morning with a tranquil 180 degree vineyard view. Given its proximately to the highway, there is surprisingly very little road noise. Rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. There is a nice restaurant and full gift shop next door as well. Pricing is also more like motor lodge pricing, so the location really makes for a great value. I would surely come back when in the area.

Sadly, our rooms had NO ac! It's middle of October and they tell us the ac has been officially turned off and the heat is turned on. It's blazing hot in the rooms! We had 5 rooms and no one got a good nights rest throughout our stay. We kept the windows and doors open in order to get a tiny breeze but unfortunately woken up to the sound of construction! Had they disclosed this information, we would have never stayed here! We need ac to sleep! The breakfast is hands down plentiful and delicious! The tapas in the gastropub were all delicious! Order the red bean soup! Another huge disappointment was dinner in the restaurant. We had to preorder our meals 2 weeks prior to arrival. The server seemed both surprised and annoyed that we wanted to order appetizers prior to our main dish. 6 of us ordered a chicken soup but they only had soup for 2 people. Three of us ordered the duck. It was uneditable! Tough as nails. The lamb skewers had more bones than meat. We had to ask if we could order dessert, again, the server seemed annoyed. My husband drinks rum & diet and after a few drinks, they tell him they ran out of rum. And guess what they did have? AC! Needless to say, dinner was not a good experience and it was expensive. Very disappointed that such a spectacular property failed to meet our expectations. AC & good food is a must when paying top money. 5 stars for beauty 0 stars for lack of AC 3 stars for dining experience

You have cypress trees pwelcoming you into the driveway of the winery. The staff is very delightful. I was helped by a young man Jaime. Just very helpful and very knowledgeable . The wines are mostly reds. There's a couple whites and a rosé. Tempranillo is my favorite by far. I think you would enjoy a visit to this winery.
